Crabs begin to Moult June 5 -6 2023. 2 days after full moon.

I was lucky enough to find this large aggregation after loosing them after they marched into deeper water. Full Moon was on the 4th and I managed to dive with them but there were no obvious signs of moulting but rays and Port Jackson sharks appeared to be selecting a few to eat(probably ones close to moulting.) On the 5th I located them but arrived to late as the current was running too hard to dive so cannot give a report on their moulting state. Learning from my previous days mistake I managed to locate and dive with the crabs right on slack water on the 6th of June. So this is a visual report. Viewer will see variety of crabs at various stages of moulting. Many are still to moult so a good week of action is till to follow. Being out in an area of strong current it may be near impossible to relocate them. Stay tuned.
