Yeah! I'm excited to see where they take the story. This was one of the first stories I really followed in a game and it kind of opened the door to being into that sort of thing. @@xokyle I should clarify! It took me 50 hours to read every main and side quest as well as write notes down for the lore. I believe if you're just playing the normal story and skipping everything else it's about 13ish hours of content.
I absolutely love that you did this I just hate that all the names and their in a version is different because it makes a little bit confusing but because I am pretty much at the part where you unlock strongholds almost at the end of that first continent I could recognize who you were talking about since I actually paid attention.

@@ziggs123 Did you not do the long quest of Whispering Islet, Illusion Bamboo Island, and Balthor’s story and then meet the bird, Sebastian, who meets you at Vern castle? You definitely get to meet Kadan and do a quest with him. It’s a tragic story, but an interesting one.
I was finally able to come here after finishing the South Vern Campaign. The problem with Lost Ark is that is a little harder to keep track of the story with so much grind in between xD
I've watched your video and also listened to Saintones lore stream that included the story progress of the korean version. In my opinion the story of Lost Ark has still so much to offer and allows for a lot of theory crafting too. Really exciting. I feel a little bit bad about skipping every quests etc. but the more I appreciate you guys creating these lore videos. I really hope you could create another Lost Ark lore video in the future which maybe also includes lore snippets from Saintones lore talk and perhaps visualize some characters & scenes of it. That would be incredible
The story gets interesting on the gameplay. Like when in Feiron and the cloud rains black. Oh man. But most people skip it. I want to thank you for taking the time to compile all this. I really enjoyed it. Thumbs up my guy.
I like to pay attention to story and lore whenever I game. I am always interested how people execute story writing. However, sometimes it can be hard to enjoy it. I always have to run dungeon twice, one solo so I can watch all cutscenes and another with groups in hard mode for the reward and tome progression. Another thing that bothers me is how some hidden story pieces are hidden among flocks of mobs. I open up the story piece and try to read but mobs start attacking me forcing me to close them. It is annoying cos there are actually some decent effort put into writing those.
I'm still pretty early game (under level 50), but so far I've found hard mode dungeons are easily soloed. I've not fought with a group yet outside the world bosses. I wish that you could just complete hard mode and get credit for both, but you have to do both no matter what for the adventurers tome. As for the hidden stories, yeah those are obnoxious when next to mobs.
I love all the effort put into this but honestly all my brain absorbed is that we're trying to get the ark for the sake of having it, armen joins you while he's in his figuring out himself phase, he leaves out of angst, and religion is evil
Right now it can definitely feel that way. Basically Kazeros is making moves to free himself and rule the human world and we’re preemptively searching for the Ark to stop that and his generals.
The storyline you’ve put together like a puzzle, the graphic content and your voice make this video so interesting 💜 I started completing some side quests in Lost Ark for a friend of mine while he was working 🙈 his character was lvl 50 🤫 I was really upset I didn’t know the whole story… and I didn’t want to start a new character. Are we fighting another version of them in the raid or is it just a past event? - If the guardians are protector of Arkesia, why are we killing them in the guardian raids?
You are most welcome! thank you for your support. - Valtan was initially just imprisoned in a shadow-ish realm temporarily and then later release. The player is lead to believe that the clown is killed; however, after he is attacked by Carmine you see one of the tiny clowns that hang on his shoulder twitches and comes to life. In hind sight, I probably should have included that as to avoid the confusion. - The original Guardians / Gods of Arkesia at a certain point in the lore (time before the game is currently set) had a period in which they were good, then bad, then good again. I believe this was in response to one of their own being killed by a person named Kadan? The game does not do a great job explaining this or why we're fighting them now. I'm not sure if there is additional English lore or if it's something that we learn more about later on? I apologize for not having a clear answer on this one, but I will update as soon as I figure it out!
In the story specially in vern questline, it was stated that the guardians are not specifically there to 'protect humans'. They are supposed to maintain balance to their territories and eliminate any unstable factors in their lot. These unstable factors can be humans, demons, monsters and etc. Also, guardians are like humans, they have their own biases, attitude, and emotions. They can be grumpy, bad tempered or kind. As such situations might occur where a guardian who protects forested lands might hate humans that destroy their forest habitats.
TY for this! I been meaning to go to the memory chamber to try to piece the story together since i skipped a lot, especially during group dungeons. That video summarized it perfectly.

When you said that South Vern´s story ends with Beatrice telling you the last piece of the ark is "at the ends of the earth and is going to soon reveal itself and fullfil it´s purpose", it does make a lot of sense. If it is so, that´s going to be awesome.

I just discovered this week that there is a lot more Armen/Carmine story if you follow your second awakening ques-tline. I think I will include that in another separate video in the coming weeks.
Great job, I personally just hate all the in between of the story high points (plague lands, 1st cathedral, pumpkin fields). Like we show up to help out so much when were supposed to be looking for this ark and dealing with bigger issues.

Yeah, good to know it isn't finished. I've been taking my time going through the story (400hrs, ilvl 500, up to Rohendal) and its nice to know there is definitely no hurry. Course, if they did complete it they would be jumping the shark. I kind of expected a never-ending situation. Closing a story arc now and again would be nice though.
Btw world of Warcraft copied alot of this for shadowlands from the winter queen looking like the queen of rohendal or the demon tower descending like torghast did and many many more examples that come from ffxiv shadowbringers
I really like your summary. It hyper focused the main plot line as the video intended. Have you thought of a story guide the includes the regional quests? Larger side quests and stories of the respective region?

Thanks for the video, I really dislike Lost Ark's story, so I ended up skipping through all dialogue and cutscenes (something I've never done before in any game). It's good to know what's generally going on, though, so your summary comes in really handy!
Great video. If at all possible I'd love for you to do something similar for the base classes (assassin, mage etc) that tells their backstories from the original prologues all in one go (the short recap trailers don't really do it justice).
I m kinda sad that they didnt complete the story. At the start i thought we were looking for only one ark. And i thought Kharmine was the real bad and i was so sure he ll be our archenemy at the end of the story. Even after i saw the real commander of bad guys, i knew that somehow Kharmine will betray him to get his power and position. I thought i ll continue to story with Armen till the end since we have same duty. I still wonder what happens to him. I was guessing that he might come back someday but he didnt and they made up lots of other new contents and stories (some of them looks really epic though), i dont think they will ever make him back as good or evil.Because they dont need to. Seems like they just made up new unrealated stories so that the players wont get bored playing the same one. But for me just opposite happens now. They changed the stories so much after the first continent the others felt like side quests and it looks like i dont even have to complete the full story because i m allready 50 and reach the end game content. I wonder how fast they will release the other parts of the story, i mean we all know the end ( we will find all arks and will beat the bad guys) but path to the end is so important (İmo) that shows the real quality of story. I just started to feeling like lostark is a mmorpg without a story (since they changed it so much) like most of other mmorpgs
im gonna say that this video was only talking about the MAIN story ive now done a lot of islands and side quests and they give ALOT of story insight and content also this video doesnt go over the personalities of the demon commdanders (which is kind of important to the story) like in the brelshaza fight in the main story she says " soon you'll see this world was just an illusion" now obviously this could just be a play on words of oh the demon world is real and the human world is fake or some cliche garbage but if you were trying to predict story elements and see into the future of the story this could be BIG also it wouldnt be knew if her magic was influents by her beliefs which is relevant. also there is a 2 side quests so far i remember that are very important to the story. one of them ( i think?) is apart of the second awakening quest (its the questline where you get the song of reminiscence which allows you to see into the past of location you go to) and that whole questline shows you armen and kharmine talking and convincing armen that humans are the true evil and they are destroying the world and he shows him the slaves of shushire as proof. he says humans treat each other more cruelly than demons do. at the start armen argues with him about the nature of humans and by the end he stops talking (showing that he is starting to agree to some extent). the other is the whispering isles questline which you meet nineveh in and she is one of the sidereals and shes ancient as fk and shes a lazanith (angel beings) and shes the only one who didnt lose the wings (you can see the physical wings behind her while beatrice only had spirit ones). and i have skipped ALOT of these cutscenes if i watched everything i bet there be even more things like this (btw this video is good its just most of the story in lost ark is in the side quests and island stuff) this was suposed to be a summary so if you want the actually story you have to find another person who knows it in great detail or read it yourself.

@@TimeIguess thank you for the background information. I am at the beginning, which means a long way to my second awakening quest. Reading your summary of that quest line, there are still a lot of questions, maybe even more - so I do not feel the story is complete. I want so bad they would bring Armen back (in a good way), but I have less hope. A character between dark and light was a great chance to bring depth to the story. And to think of an end of the story and the philosophy that might be behind it - you know light and darkness, yin and yang, depending on each other, no one can exist without the other - may be the solution would be a co-existence of both. And Armen as the great "good" demon boss :)
@@TimeIguess Besides what has already been mentioned, there is also quest chain with him appering in the end, its called Episode Kadan. I will not spoiler it, but I think Armen is definitely setting to be important in the story by some point again, and it seems he still cares for 'us', too.
There are some really good moments, particularly around Armen and Carmine; however, there are honestly quite a bit of lows/filler. I'd say if you found the content in the video extremely enthralling then follow the entire story. If you thought it was just okay then probably okay to skip it as I tried to only include the better parts.

I wouldn't be surprised if either Sacria or even Regulus turned out to be the final villain and boss. Demons look faar too weak in this game except for thaemine, everyone else is portrayed as weak and that includes our character
So I came back to this video after playing the English version. South vern is getting released like tomorrow lol and I'm amazed this is only 10 to 15%??? That's crazy and there's a whole bunch of side stuff not even covered here lol this basically just the main story sumerized. Loved the video tho and love the game my main is scrapper or I fighter apparently the least popular class on the English version lol but I love her anyway again great video glad I came back to it. Oh and I'm currently 1365 I haven't put much money into the game besides founders packs and I used most of that on cosmetic stuff lol
Yeah! Pretty wild. Apparently only about 10-15% of the story they have planned is released so far. Very excited to see what more they have to come. Will definitely make updates as more story roles out.
Already played 30+ hours and just got at the 10 mins mark in video ... I know i did most of the side quests but it's crazy how long it took me and already got me bored tbh.... I'll try to speed it up now but it's crazy how much time I lost

Lost Ark's story is great. Didn't understand why the western audience shat on it. It might've been the mediocre voice acting, but that doesn't excuse that the story is actually well written. The main story is fascinating but the stories from the side missions are interesting as well. One of which involves Kadan, one of the Sidereals.

Thanks for the video, I really dislike Lost Ark's story, so I ended up skipping through all dialogue and cutscenes (something I've never done before in any game). It's good to know what's generally going on, though, so your summary comes in really handy!

Great video. If at all possible I'd love for you to do something similar for the base classes (assassin, mage etc) that tells their backstories from the original prologues all in one go (the short recap trailers don't really do it justice).
I m kinda sad that they didnt complete the story. At the start i thought we were looking for only one ark. And i thought Kharmine was the real bad and i was so sure he ll be our archenemy at the end of the story. Even after i saw the real commander of bad guys, i knew that somehow Kharmine will betray him to get his power and position. I thought i ll continue to story with Armen till the end since we have same duty. I still wonder what happens to him. I was guessing that he might come back someday but he didnt and they made up lots of other new contents and stories (some of them looks really epic though), i dont think they will ever make him back as good or evil.Because they dont need to. Seems like they just made up new unrealated stories so that the players wont get bored playing the same one. But for me just opposite happens now. They changed the stories so much after the first continent the others felt like side quests and it looks like i dont even have to complete the full story because i m allready 50 and reach the end game content. I wonder how fast they will release the other parts of the story, i mean we all know the end ( we will find all arks and will beat the bad guys) but path to the end is so important (İmo) that shows the real quality of story. I just started to feeling like lostark is a mmorpg without a story (since they changed it so much) like most of other mmorpgs
im gonna say that this video was only talking about the MAIN story ive now done a lot of islands and side quests and they give ALOT of story insight and content also this video doesnt go over the personalities of the demon commdanders (which is kind of important to the story) like in the brelshaza fight in the main story she says " soon you'll see this world was just an illusion" now obviously this could just be a play on words of oh the demon world is real and the human world is fake or some cliche garbage but if you were trying to predict story elements and see into the future of the story this could be BIG also it wouldnt be knew if her magic was influents by her beliefs which is relevant. also there is a 2 side quests so far i remember that are very important to the story. one of them ( i think?) is apart of the second awakening quest (its the questline where you get the song of reminiscence which allows you to see into the past of location you go to) and that whole questline shows you armen and kharmine talking and convincing armen that humans are the true evil and they are destroying the world and he shows him the slaves of shushire as proof. he says humans treat each other more cruelly than demons do. at the start armen argues with him about the nature of humans and by the end he stops talking (showing that he is starting to agree to some extent). the other is the whispering isles questline which you meet nineveh in and she is one of the sidereals and shes ancient as fk and shes a lazanith (angel beings) and shes the only one who didnt lose the wings (you can see the physical wings behind her while beatrice only had spirit ones). and i have skipped ALOT of these cutscenes if i watched everything i bet there be even more things like this (btw this video is good its just most of the story in lost ark is in the side quests and island stuff) this was suposed to be a summary so if you want the actually story you have to find another person who knows it in great detail or read it yourself.

@@TimeIguess thank you for the background information. I am at the beginning, which means a long way to my second awakening quest. Reading your summary of that quest line, there are still a lot of questions, maybe even more - so I do not feel the story is complete. I want so bad they would bring Armen back (in a good way), but I have less hope. A character between dark and light was a great chance to bring depth to the story. And to think of an end of the story and the philosophy that might be behind it - you know light and darkness, yin and yang, depending on each other, no one can exist without the other - may be the solution would be a co-existence of both. And Armen as the great "good" demon boss :)
@@TimeIguess Besides what has already been mentioned, there is also quest chain with him appering in the end, its called Episode Kadan. I will not spoiler it, but I think Armen is definitely setting to be important in the story by some point again, and it seems he still cares for 'us', too.

Is story worth reading and paying attention? When i was playing i felt it was very cliché
There are some really good moments, particularly around Armen and Carmine; however, there are honestly quite a bit of lows/filler. I'd say if you found the content in the video extremely enthralling then follow the entire story. If you thought it was just okay then probably okay to skip it as I tried to only include the better parts.

I wouldn't be surprised if either Sacria or even Regulus turned out to be the final villain and boss. Demons look faar too weak in this game except for thaemine, everyone else is portrayed as weak and that includes our character
So I came back to this video after playing the English version. South vern is getting released like tomorrow lol and I'm amazed this is only 10 to 15%??? That's crazy and there's a whole bunch of side stuff not even covered here lol this basically just the main story sumerized. Loved the video tho and love the game my main is scrapper or I fighter apparently the least popular class on the English version lol but I love her anyway again great video glad I came back to it. Oh and I'm currently 1365 I haven't put much money into the game besides founders packs and I used most of that on cosmetic stuff lol

Yeah! Pretty wild. Apparently only about 10-15% of the story they have planned is released so far. Very excited to see what more they have to come. Will definitely make updates as more story roles out.

Lost Ark's story is great. Didn't understand why the western audience shat on it. It might've been the mediocre voice acting, but that doesn't excuse that the story is actually well written. Thanks for covering this man, great to see someone who appreciates Lost Ark's story.
