The leveling experience from level 1 to Punika was fucking fantastic. The dungeons were awesome, and some were even masterpieces with their mechanics. As soon as you get to Punika and you have to start farming monotonous bullshit to gear up for the first raid, the game became dogshit. It's like the game went from A+ to F tier immediately. Every Korean game always has god-tier combat, but everything else sucks ass. It's like all the Korean game developers took the same "How to make combat good 101" class, and they all stopped after that. It's so bizarre.
Phantom palace was my favorite early peak into the endgame. Put 800 hours within 3 months rushed to t3 and got all that gold selling mats. After the honeymoon phase I started seeing issues of the game and the hours you’ll need to compete against whales. Quit 1 week after argos was a good run
I have more faith in Yoshi P and Hidetaka Miyazaki (From Software) than I do any other gaming projects leads at the moment. Bless their souls (no pun intended).
@@marluneth On a similar note I have to give a shoutout to Larian Studios and Sven Wicke as well. The dude clearly loves making video games as well as playing them.
He doesn't? Lmao yoshi p doesn't understand any of the problems plaguing the game right now and he hasn't and won't fix them because they consist in the endgame, completionism, and everything outside of what a casual player would experience.
@@furen4962 That's because the casual playerbase are who keep the game alive. The people who spend money on the Mogstation whenever a new outfit drops, the people that spend hours farming for glam even sometimes more than a hardcore raider would spend progging. The casual crowd of FF14 literally keep the game running, the hardcore crowd doesn't really matter that much in FF, they're there to do endgame content and while doing so paying for a sub. So they release endgame content for them. That's about all they have to do, it's quite simple because what other content COULD they do for these hyper endgame players that'll complete all the savages within a week (I was one of them mind you). They give that crowd everything they need to survive. The casual crowd keep the lights on, the hardcore crowd keeps the game fresh with new endgame content as to appease them it necessitates it.
@@QuestionQuestionMark If you track the active playerbase via those who complete MSQ and then those who have the achievement for completing the raid tier, its actually 50% split. The raiding community has just as much a say in keeping the lights on as the "casuals". Yoshi doesnt know the problems that plague the game because hes too proud to admit mistakes, look at tanks having become practically the same 123 fell cleave tank with slight difference. Look at all 4 healers having the same gameplay loop, look at what happened with Shadowbringers astro, practically unusuable in ultimate content for level 70 it was so butchered. When you think of having fun in this game, its more than likely on a DPS because all the DPS play differently enough from each other to be distinguishable. Even the casual experience isnt fun to the casuals atm with how housing has worked since this games inception lol. Its not the games -riveting- story or gameplay that people log in for, its to keep their houses from auto demolishing or as a social thing.
Asmon is right, I love doing a chaos dungeon or guardian raid on my favorite character, but i hate feeling like I need to farm them on all my alts that i dont like as much in order to keep up...
@@Nheom It can. We are all full of copium listening to streamer and so on, burning ourselves with max roster when in fact, with one or two alt MAX you can do all the content in the game, including the most advanced. Most of the time alt cost much more that they make (especially when you pass the 1460 threshold). So making alt if it's for fun it's ok, but saying " i need alt in this game" is just untrue. I had guildmate brel HM ready at the same time as me without any alt. And i had a full roster 1460+ so ...
You don't need to do everything on all your alts. You don't need 6 characters ready for the latest content. Focus on your favorite character, then you can slowly push others afterwards. You don't need to do Chaos Dungeons or Guardians on every character every day or even three raids on 6 characters every week to have a character 1580+ well on track to hit 1600 before Akkan is out. For like half a year if not more now I have barely raided after my old static basically stopped doing anything together other than one Brel run a week. (Just weren't as fun to play with strangers over friends.) I have barely done Chaos Dungeons and Guardians. I am still close to 1590 on my main, where my main setback is probably that I have tapped the weapon to 22 going on 23 at 65% pity over focusing on getting all my gear enhanced first. The past couple weeks I've settled into doing (when I feel like it) my Chaos Dungeons on my main and one run per gold earning alt, and only Guardians on my main, as well as doing Bifrost-assisted dailies for Leapstones that are quick and effortless to do on those 6 characters and helping me prep them for when I do eventually maybe do a little item level push on them again from 1490. I don't do Lopang alts, as I don't need it while focusing on mainly my favorite character, I don't do Chaos Dungeons or Guardians on other alts, as I don't really need it, and I don't do more than one Chaos Dungeon on gold earner alts (which every so often becomes a rested run), because I don't really need it, nor do I have the desire to do so. I am certain I will hit 1600 before Akkan hits. Again, I only do these things if I feel like it and will often skip some Chaos Dungeons on the alts. There's no need to do everything so religiously when I mainly focus on my favorite character and at least do some minimum content on that which I enjoy anyways, like the Chaos Dungeon runs. I just make sure to funnel all the extra weekly stuff (like event shop stuff) I can get into that main. Homework fatigue is somewhat self-inflicted because people think it's a necessity, and unless you absolutely need 6 characters ready for the latest content as it releases, there's no need to burn yourself out.
@@nustaniel ya i believe that whole essay is written by a casual who only plays 1 character. You literally wrote about doing dailies on 5 alts bro. Tf are you even saying. Read it back your entire essay is contradictory as fuck, you said you dont need to do chaos dungeons on alts then say you only skip them sometimes ☠️ youre full of shit.
** The best of any game i've ever played. It's why it's a such a shame to see the game not being taken care of properly. Literally the most engaging , challenging, fun and satisfying raids to play, prog and clear.
@@gabrielcat72 Yea, loved it too. Boss encounters felt so good and it was so satisfying to press abilities. The stupid 0.1% upgrade chance grind killed it for me. I mean I have no problem to farm a shit to to get to high power in endgame but when half of the game is already blocked because you have to have to play lottery with dogshit odds I am out, haha. Can't even play slot machines and it's probably 10 times more likely to become a milionair through that than upgrading the last 2-3 steps to go to the next act.
Game was good from story to the start of T3. Except Oreha+Argos because they were MEH content, but Valtan, holy molly Valtan was peak Lost Ark. Vykas was fun but most of the time it just felt unfair but ig bearable. Now from Clown onwards = deadge unfun, boring, gatekeeping hell of a game. 1475+ was just an afk lobby simulator 💀
@@SadokiKojiro facts i stopped playing 2 weeks in when I hit 1370 and realized i gotta do 16 chaos dungeons a day ontop of daily quests, literal torture
For me, the fun part was reaching lv 50 and the storyline behind, after that you have so repetitive menus and party finders, omg, so boring. I can imagine a new player skipping everything to T3 thrown to a party finder hell, what a boring game to new players.
i love arpgs i play them since im 6 , im now 27 and i have probably never been as disapointed in a arpg as lost ark , i could not even stomach the levelling , half of the game is skipping cutscenes , the item progression is horrible , they just made flashy skills , even undecember wich is think is also really bad is better than lost ark lol
@@MrRafagigapr You know what's even worse, the gameplay in Lost Ark is amazing, possibly some of the best combat in all ARPGs but everything around progression is so demotivating to play
The best part about Lost Ark to me was when there was so much to explore in the world. Going around from island to island on your ship. I quit playing because I wasn't interested in the raid content and that's all the game has to offer past a certain point.
I agree, there needs to be a way for the casual player/ Solo player. I can't figure out all the 100's of mechanics and how to combine all the gear, gem, cards, etc... I value my time, if I can't figure out this stuff in just a few minutes and then get to the actual game play, I lose interest quickly.
The problem with Lost Ark is that people wont even come back for the new raids. Because that would require them to either have fully geared characters to begin with, or they have to grind for 3 weeks before they can start the raid. For the first scenario: Thats probably about 3% of the playerbase at most. For the second scenario: Ye, sure. They will 100% do all of that. 'putting my copium away'
You can easily come back next month with some friends. Basically get boosted to 1540, get full level 7 gems, 4 engravings (5 is pretty easy nowadays), full relic set, gold, amongst alot of other things. Dailies still remain the same though.
I came back like a week and a half ago (last time I played there was no T3), and there are tons of ways of catching up. I'm already close to 1500 and have no trouble finding groups for the firsts Legion Raids, at least up to Brel. I'm currently honing my alts up to 1370 at least, and even while it's still playable on the latest content, you can feel the lack of people. There's literally no way of doing old content, or even world group content for the most part. Dead chats, ghost towns all over. People is definitely there, but barely barely enough.
@@ilovewater8720 Ofc you can get boosted by either spending money, or by being boosted by friends. But that would also require your friends having high level chars (so they continued playing). Also, for Thaemine you will need more than level 7 gems and 4x engravings. You will need level 9+ everywhere and you will probably need 5x+1 engravings. That alone is a fuckton of gold (or money) in itself (especially with how fucked the economy in the game is). Like I said. Your average gamer who stopped playing the game will not invest that much time into the game again in order to just play a single legion raid. The game is dead. As simple as that.
@@mendiganina6001 But thats what I mean. You are already playing alts and you are only at 1500. So you basically got to the Clown and now you are hardcapped due to low honing chances. And you are also playing a week and a half already. With much more to come if you want to do BrelG6. So that is excatly what I am saying. Most people are not willing to invest that much time (and maybe money) into the game after they took a break just to do a single legion raid (because lets be honest, that is the only reason they would return to the game to begin with). The game is dead. As unfortunate as that might be. And at least rn there is no horizon in sight. Its just pitch black.
Hi Asmongold, I’m Korean 🇰🇷and long time no see. Since that desparate worthless loa on yesterday, exodus happened including streamers and first party defeated Akkan(saying that they’ll come back few weeks before Theamine release). Ingredients in market’s prices plunged, including stones. Relieved I certain you have plenty refugees. We still don’t understand which bs worker made an idea of end level content after university semester starts, but whatever, we all give up hope from those 3 guys’ leading. Pity you don’t know Korean because you can feel how clumsy they comprehend and make a typo of their slides. See ya!
Being new to MMOs I gave this game a go a few months ago. Progressed through the story at my own pace to South Vern, enjoying the lore and epic battle cinematics. Having a laugh with other players when waiting for a world boss or event quest. It was a great feeling when I caught up with everyone else in T3, geared up with raid homework on my 2nd monitor. Finally loading into valtan and vykas to only get the shit flamed out of me for not having flawless movement and awareness from raiding since release like most others. You can watch all the videos and read all the cheat sheets in the world. Theory can only get you so far without actual practice and failure. I get that the design of the game and progression systems has resulted in everyone impatiently speed running 6 raids a day across alts for efficiency. But as a casual mokoko trying to git gud and progress through the content after a day at work, the fun faded pretty fucking quick. I lasted about 3 weekly resets and straight up uninstalled the game. Felt so refreshed afterwards. I kinda miss my badass arti main but I'm glad I dodged a bullet with this shitshow. Even if they find a way to attract new players or incentivise players to return, the nature of this game at its core is not welcoming to new players in the slightest. That's a problem.
i was hardcore lost ark player, i even made content with my dps paladin, but i had a wake up call around 8-9 months ago that this game has turned into my 2nd job, i already have tough daily job to begin with, so i decided to quit and never turned back (best decision of my life)
You didn't even experience any of the content. Dunno what the flex is all about. I have friends that play 1-2 characters, login a few times a week, and still do current endgame. So I think the game being the 2nd job was your fault..
@@ilovewater8720 "I have friends" seems like you're the one who didn't experienced endgame, ofc you can play only 1-2 char instead of 6-8 but it's not efficient. It's either you have to accept that by having a chill gameplay you'll be behind everybody else, your friends and guild OR you have to grind and keep up and if you look at this guy's video you can see he was going pretty much hardcore clearing Vykas HM as a DPS Paladin when it was current content, dude's a legend. Guess he found the grind was unrewarding and unecessary painful (as it was explained in the video) and he stopped playing altogether, wouldn't blame him for that tbh
@@ilovewater8720 u must have thought that, i didn't have friend to play with. but u are wrong.. i had 5-6 irl friends to play with at first, 2 friend quit after downing argos t3, 4 friends stick around until vykas. plus i was from sea server, which is illegal to begin with, but it did not stop me and my friends from playing the game, even though it was lagging like hell, in the end out of 6 of us only 2 (including me) remain 2 months after vykas release. my only motivation then was playing my dps paladin (favorite fantasy class) and that is all. for your 2nd point about making it my 2nd job, try only having 1-2 alt see how much you can progress on ilvl lol.. c'mon bro..
Lost Ark is the only game I've ever had good RNG in, I didn't have to spend crap to get to 1580. Early on I found myself waiting for my friends to catch up, weeks went by and guildmates started to drop off, they couldn't get to gear cap and their progress was halted. I'm just not gonna play a game none of my friends can enjoy.
you had good rng on,does not mean its a balanced rng in the game. played for 14months only got 3 drops that were good. Buying accessories was a fucking pain.
I quit once the "end game" opened up and I realized that since I was a solo player, it would be difficult to progress without a group. There was also too much opening up after the campaign was over, and I could tell it was a treadmill.
Same I had a 4 man group. All the raids were 8 man. We did the group content, one taxid the raids, 2 taxid everything I wasn’t willing to afk content (via paying others) to be able to play that content later myself.
Something Neeko didn't really mention is they're adding ANOTHER vertical progression system. They already have a system the West doesn't, elixirs, which was universally hated and insanely expensive. Now they're adding another system that makes progressing your character even more expensive.
Where the fuck you get this info that it was universally hated? I have never ever heard it like that from the KR Coomunity or streamers. Quite the opposite, it was VERY WELL received by the players and is probably the best vertical progression system they have released ever. This is the consesus I have seen comming from KR. It is also the 2nd cheapest way to get a lot of power when you compare DPS you get per gold spent after Tripods, so I have no idea why you think it is that expensive. It costs 200-500k to max it out on a character. To get 20-30% DPS increase. A level 10 DMG gem costs like 450k FOR ONE SKILL to increase your damage by like 7% from level 9 to 10. The point of the game is to progress your character, it is literally one of the core reasons why people play this game and not, for example, FF14 where you have no progression at all. The progression systems and their amount isn't really the problem, the grinding required for them is.
@DracoGrim I mean, at LOAON, they mentioned that only 82 characters have effectively maxed elixirs, and one of the 3 heads of the game mentioned that it was a boring system after the first week. So I'm not sure where your info is coming from......
The other problem that comes with band-aiding issues like this with Hyper Express passes and other ways to fast-track gearing is that it removes the incentive to play outside of the event limits. I can follow the event pass over a couple of days/weeks to hit the end of it with a new character, when doing it outside of that would probably take months as a casual player. Knowing that, there's no reason for me to play the game when I'm not taking advantage of one of those events. The same is true for 2x XP weekends on RuneScape 3 or any of the events in MapleStory; all these events really do is make it apparent how much progress is being gated normally by time or RNG.
I guess almost everyone quit Lost Ark because they realized they didn't want to spend 90% of their daily playtime basically doing "homework". The game is like a teacher at school that tells you "well you have to do some drill for 90% of the lesson and then in the last 10% we're going to do something fun". Nobody wants that in their freetime. I have assignments and chores in real life, I don't need that in a game.
Probably one of the games that I enjoyed playing the most in the past year. Classes are really great and unique, fun gameplay and challenging content. But whenever you hit the P2W gearlevel you just stop playing. This is really sad.
Aside from the dailies NA/EU next month is going to be in the best state since the launch of the game. Compared to Korea we have it very very good. AGS is doing a good job pushing out things very fast.
yea, with prgramming this good to have it feel this good to control your characters. it shoulod've become the best game ever made. but it's terrible lul
My biggest problem is just the dificulty of alot pf the further fights mostly due to the 1 person fail raid wipe mechanics, in my opinion valtan hard is the best fight in the game
i havnt played in like 6 months, but probably 2/3rd of all my failed raid runs were oh we have to reset now cuz we dont have enough ppl alive for XX mechanic. its literally so easy to make the mech scale based on # of players living. u dont even have to change animations, just change the back end so the wipe trigger is different. like brel looks cool but whats the point in even trying, ill just watch the fight on youtube and quit
Lost ark's first playthrough felt like a video game Lost ark's end game felt like a last minute squabble from 15 people trying to copy 3 MMORPGs and a whole lot of guess work
The reason why companies are waiting to release updates and changes to their game is because of marketing. They are trying to focus changes into bigger updates so that they will have more impact and they are hoping to go viral again and get everyone back into playing them. They are sacrificing loyalty today for hype tomorrow.
watching this in december , 5 months after this video and i can tell you now that lost ark is indeed not dead and the same people play that cried about this :D
They literally forgot that Valtan was the peak of Lost Ark's success, that raids needs to be accessible to average player base, not those top 1% hardcore grinders and swipers. Statistics speak for themselves. The entire first half of the game is literally about exploring and progressing, but then suddenly they have to put a wall to time gate players from getting to the next raid, that's when it falls apart because the catch up experience sucks.
Valtan is a raid where it's easier to finish with all 8, but it can ALSO be finished with just 1 player. The first couple weeks when Valtan came out, the feeling of seeing the last person in ghost phase clutching the entire team was incomparable. idk why every new raid has the "one person fails -> raid wipe'. I would much rather have a raid where for each person who dies, the damage taken increases by 10% or something so it can still be finished but still punishing.
To this day, I haven't had as much fun playing a game as I did playing Lost Ark. However, I haven't touched Lost Ark for more than a year now because I never found a static group to do raids with and didn't have money to spend to keep up that way, and not enough time to keep up the grinding way. Sad to see a game with such great potential to be in this state
In Guild Wars 2 there are multiple tiers of fractals. To get all rewards for the fractal, you simply do the highest tier you are able to do. It's not hard to do this. They simple want you to play more. This isn't an accident.
I agree with this. Dont get me wrong GW2 has its own set of problems, but it just nails certain part. Especially having the freedom of WHAT you want to do.
It’s the same thing with Diablo rn minus the transaction problem but no one wants to nightmare dungeon all day either, I really hope they add a better “endgame” grind
At this point, lost ark is basically a Ferrari with no engine. Looks fancy and awesome but just sits there takin space in your garage + losing money tryna make it work
POE with arch nemesis mobs took a whole league wide revolt and quiting of the game to force that change. It wasnt an immediate response, they only responded like that because there bottom line was hurt. On a side note, this past league, arche nemesis mobs were snuck right back in. The only thing saving POE atm is, that it has no competitors. LE was a hopeful one, but they shit the bed on MP. D4 was a potential game, but as everyone knows, there are problems galore.
Im so fucking disappointed with how lost arks downfall is going. Dont get me wrong it could have been avoided they dug their own graves, but Ive never liked combat in a game as i did in this one and im so fucking sad they made it pay to win and grindy in late game. :C
The devs wont wake up though, my experience with Korean games is once a game starts dieing they move on to developing the next game with money sinks. Its unfortunate because they have some of the best combat loops on the market.
I dont like doing the raids and whatever else they are called. Why cant I advance as a Solo player in other ways. Im stuck at 1490, with one character at 1509,(I had to pay for Brelshaza[Not sure which Guardian it actually was] gate 1-2), after that I just gave up and havent played since. I got enough mats for only 2 ancient gear pieces. Lost Ark needs to make available a way to achieve next levels as a Solo/Casual Player like me. 17:0219:00
I think they should remove the cap on rewards. I loved chaos dungeons and would have loved to run them endlessly if I got rewarded. Having to bring up 8-9 alts just to gear up 1 toon was terrible.
The gate keeping is real and the frustration of being forced to do raids only for the best loot instead of being able to solo farm or at least only have to do 4 man content would be a lot nicer. I had a lot of fun with the dungeons playing with friends besides the terrible loot upgrade and pheon system but then they all quit at Argos being forced into an 8 man weekly before the legions raids even came out. Trying to get into public raids as a solo or new player is incredibly toxic even if you watch the fights before to try and learn the mechanics.
Yeah, 4man dungeons was alright, but as soon 8man raids became a requirement, that was a clear no-no, solo and up to 4 is alright, but having to muster whooping 8 on a dying server, hell no.
First time i gotta disagree with Asmon... 35:25 "PoE Fixes things within a Week". Lake of Kalandra? Cmon.. PoE had one of the HIGHEST Player Retention in Lake of Kalandra, because they DIDNT Fix their shit. They fixed things fast like 2 Years ago. Now they dont, thats just a fact. There are bugs in the game, that arent fixed since... 3 Years?
It bums me out how badly the development managed to screw this game with all of the P2W and artificial gating to encourage people to just spend money and gatekeep content. I got up to 1515 on my deathblade and to this day, Lost Ark has without a doubt the best combat of any ARPG i've ever played. Their raids were the most well put together experience/challenge ever. It still makes me sad to think of how such a tuned combat game is killed by their own developers.
Apparently the reason lost ark was very popular in kr a few years ago was because maplestory shit the bed and majority of their playerbase went to lost ark. Lost Ark also shitting the bed now, and Maplestory recently having a big update, brought those players back to maplestory.
Lost Ark is everything I hate about modern video game, and I love the base gameplay (combat). Achievement everywhere, when you log in, 'assaulted' by pop in, stuff to do everyday/week, because god forbid you to take a break! Just give me a good offline game I ENJOY playing and replaying first before puting anxious always online meaningless grind.
35:00 Proof that if you build it they will come: I've said it before and I'll keep saying it, GGG are so levelheaded and honest to their playerbase that they have my highest rating of any developer *ever* , and I've been playing games since my earliest memories over 30 years ago.
as a more casual player of lost ark, all I want is to be able to do everything by myself, nothing sucks more than grinding for an island's soul and finding out its impossible without 20 people. Also, the daily system is trash, I hate being grind limited based on daily caps, I would rather need to do 20 quests/dungeons in a row that take me 20 hours then 10 once a day.
From a financial standpoint, this whole genre serves two types of people. NEETs that will see nothing wrong with throwing 16 hours a day at a game. Whales that will see nothing wrong with throwing 1600 dollars at a game.
i really like the gameplay, combat, raids and cinematics. and my favorite mas brel, the raid is amazing. Problem is, actually getting there to do it and when you finally get there. you are not invited to groups because people expect that not only you don't make a single mistake the first time you do it, but also they would rather invite people with overgear to farm it "quickly". is really hard to find or make progress groups. and all of that takes a long, long time. is a shame because the combat and raids by itself is really, really good.
Lost ark “raids” were one boss out of a regular MMo actual raid. And yet repeating that one boss would be the ENTIRE endgame for months at a time. Lost ark dungeons are copy paste repeat instance but only the top 2-3 gave gold. 99% of the content doesn’t matter because it’s below oneshot enemy difficulty and literally rewards you nothing. Yet every new content drop simply replaces the one endgame fight with a different one.

I just went back to BDO, I'm having fun again in an MMORPG. Working on a caravel boat for bartering and loving lifeskilling. It's my personal waiting room until Chrono Odyssey comes out.
Lost Ark has some of the most fun second to second gameplay I have played in an ARPG in YEARS... More so than Diablo 4 by a landslide. And I'm loving D4. But i quite playing after 70 hours because of all the free to play tacked on garbage they expected me to do in order to progress my gear. Seems every second of fun you had playing the game you had to endure an hour of tedium. Absolutely atrocious.
Lost Ark needs a private server with a normal MMO-ish progression system that pops off for Delusionalgate to finally understand what they are doing wrong.
You can't wait for the next major content patch or the next year and expect the player base not to leave. I understand "bigger ships are slower to turn" for larger companies. But they are in the wrong business then cuz a successful live service games requires devs to have their finger on the pulse & makes those changes on the fly. That's the major problem with most live service games and that's why I avoid most of them. Also, korean mmos today are the same as in 2000s, the structure never changed. Classic
I know that Asmon is mostly just meme-ing on Maplestory, but the "New Age" update is actually huge. Just for perspective, they rented out multiple STADIUMS just to show off the update, had a full live orchestra, a whole host of QoL, new areas, new questlines, new bosses, and introduced 6th job. You can think of # Jobs in Maple as Tiers in Lost Ark. 1st-4th job is essentially just a few hours of gameplay nowadays for an experienced player, and players have been in 5th job for 7 years now (Maple is 20 years old for reference). 6th job is essentially a reset in the game. So this is a very very big update for Maple. A lot of Maplstory players play both Maplestory and Lost Ark. It's not surprising that they saw a huge spike in returning players.
Lost Ark is the kind of game where their problem isn't that they're lacking things in it. They are 80% fluffy garbage. the game would be amazing if the it was stripped down to just that fun 20%. Make it a game about dungeons and getting dope gear.
Just think about, how many games will come out in the next three months. You really need five months for a gem tab? By the time the gem tab is there, I will be in Armored core ;-)
Q. Why kids' games like MapleStory are so dominant A. Because it contains memories of Korean gamers, like Minecraft. And you know, LOA died because it had already consumed all its content and was slow to update.
They could easily fix the game, by upping the success rates of T3 to like 30%+ instead of single digits, make an LFG system that allows the players inside to control kicks AND to replace people who have been kicked by using the same LFG system like its WoW, higher drop chances and 2-3x more loot, give more general information about bosses etc as you're fighting them and provide a health bar(guardian raids) as its just stupid not to provide one, and just overall remove so much of the grindy BS that this game is based on.
T3 to 1490 will cost no gold + honing % increases in July so % doesn't really matter. Legion raids will now have a much higher chance of dropping class accessories, and in hard/normal brel loot will be 2-2.5x more. All main bosses in this game have health bars. You can identify roughly what guardians hp is based on what phase they are in. You don't need health bars because the phase of the boss tells you everything you need to know.
@@ilovewater8720 see the issue is - they're coming in July when they should've been in the game from the start (especially SIGNIFICANTLY higher honing rates, they should never be below 20%), which has done significant damage to the playerbase (irreversible). just because you can identify by phase doesn't mean that everyone watches like you do nor does it mean that everyone knows about the phases so it doesn't help the situation - add the health bars for the benefit of everyone, there's no reason not to.
I wouldn't say that's a fix. It'd still not cater enough for casuals. No incentive to explore, no good professions, the focus is entirely on raiding and if the changes are "hey, now it's easier to get raiding!" I wouldn't consider it a fix.
I played this game around 500 hours and I can say the RNG gambling bs with items is what did me in. Glad items couldnt be destroyed but all the time farming materials just disappeared so, still pretty shitty.
The game caters to their most hardcore players with nothing but vertical content. Other MMOs are changing their games to accommodate more casual players, adding less grind and more ways to progress solo. But LA does the opposite. Everything to is a grind to get to where you need to be, and if you aren't there you're gatekept. Also, raiding is still the only way to progress your character.
Well they also cater to forcing you to whale by putting you through long grinds. also @pangkamotegames "im 13 months playing nonstop" as a f2p if you played/need to play like 6hrs per day or more with 6 or more alts for 1 year just to get to that its kinda sad and sure proof the game doesn't respect your time. Meanwhile in mmos with proper progression you catch up in 2 or 3 months while being able to do every content until the last one
Games like D4 and LA seems to think that annoying players is a game mechanic that we the players want. No, it's what companies use to try to make players pay more, pay to avoid, pay to save time, pay for convenience. It's like they have no care about making a game that the players actually want.
Been a day one lost ark player, and I’m still playing. Asmon’s take is one hundred percent right. I know he loves this game and wishes they weren’t running it into the ground. Shit so do I. Hands down there is no better combat, better raids, better drip, better character diversity in any game EVER. Incredible game. But of course it is a free Korean MMO it requires a lot of time and investment and if not, a lot of swiping to be at end game content. Don’t get me wrong the game can be played casually and at your own pace if you are not chasing the meta and end game. Smilegate really fumbled the ball this week. The entire veteran player base is asking for simple changes to better the player experience like reducing dailies…but it falls on deaf ears. Incredible to me that they’re watching the game bleed players and not making the changes we need. However Amazon is giving the west some huge Ws and changes coming up very soon that will keep me playing for now.
A giant map, good storyline, GREAT RAIDS, a lot of side quest and exploration, achievements BUT YOU GET STUCK GRINDING RESOURCES. How can they not see you can't play the game cause you have to WORK FOR YOU CHARACTERS?
Daily, pheon,p2w and the grind killed the game for me I switch from huge fan to hater If this game reward me for 1 character ×6 i wont complain about any shit
Easy fix: - Reduce dailies to x1 and double rewards - Remove rehearsal, put all legion raid wipe mechanics in training mode - Add alternative ways to earn similar or less gold for casuals (not raids)
LostArk is the best example of how ignoring your playerbases will kill a game. It's been so damn long they could've made a new damn game entirely, instead they've done near NOTHING to help. Did they ever give Guardians health bars? The only people who liked the monster-hunter BULLSH%T are PLAYING MONSTER HUNTER...but nooooo Devs know better!
I remember when I lived on Lost Ark just for the horizontal content. When there was nothing left to do but grind and deal with raids I just stopped playing
people saying these July update is gonna save casuals and new comers but forget the fact that they community gatekeeps the raid and no one is interested in doing a LEARNING PARTY anymore because they rather spend that time doing something else.
~30:00: Very true. One of the only reasons I'm still playing LoA sometimes is because there is just nothing better or even comparable... I mean the only alternative is paying f-ing Blizzard extra money to partake in their final Diablo 4 beta test before they start the first season where I can spend even more money on their battlepass for a 7/10 game... Yeah no.
They aren't creative.
Cuz god-tier combat essentially is just a bait. What they really want is your money. It's so obvious.
its cause asians(japanese chinese and korean games all get this) make the game like a job, and thus not fun after some time
Phantom palace was my favorite early peak into the endgame. Put 800 hours within 3 months rushed to t3 and got all that gold selling mats. After the honeymoon phase I started seeing issues of the game and the hours you’ll need to compete against whales. Quit 1 week after argos was a good run
There is nothing fun about Lost Arks campaign. My god is takes forever
The more I see developers destroy their own games the more respect I gain for people like Yoshi P that play their own game and identify the problems.
Well plays just ur fav chard
@@ARXEMxSAMA that's not how it work
@@Nheom It can.
@@gabrielcat72 Yea, loved it too. Boss encounters felt so good and it was so satisfying to press abilities. The stupid 0.1% upgrade chance grind killed it for me. Can't even play slot machines and it's probably 10 times more likely to become a milionair through that than upgrading the last 2-3 steps to go to the next act.

The best part about Lost Ark to me was when there was so much to explore in the world. Going around from island to island on your ship. I quit playing because I wasn't interested in the raid content and that's all the game has to offer past a certain point.
^ This is such an underspoken take, this game 100% doesn't offer shit for casual playerbase that deems raids too tedious to do.
same
yup, such a beautiful game completely went to waste. It is horrible

Thats how they build in their monetization by getting you addicted and sunk in.

The reason why companies are waiting to release updates and changes to their game is because of marketing.
They are trying to focus changes into bigger updates so that they will have more impact and they are hoping to go viral again and get everyone back into playing them.
They are sacrificing loyalty today for hype tomorrow.
Makes sense marketing
watching this in december , 5 months after this video and i can tell you now that lost ark is indeed not dead and the same people play that cried about this :D

It's not hard to do this. They simple want you to play more. This isn't an accident.
I agree with this. Dont get me wrong GW2 has its own set of problems, but it just nails certain part. Especially having the freedom of WHAT you want to do.
If Lost Ark systems were re-designed I would be all about that game. Probably my favorite combat out of any game like it.
you know a game is done when the player base drops below the number of bots in eve online!
at this point is there still bots in Lost ark ?
It’s the same thing with Diablo rn minus the transaction problem but no one wants to nightmare dungeon all day either, I really hope they add a better “endgame” grind
At this point, lost ark is basically a Ferrari with no engine. Looks fancy and awesome but just sits there takin space in your garage + losing money tryna make it work
The current raid experience was so toxic I ended up quitting. Takes hours to find a group then group disbands once one person dies ….
Island and horizontal content was my favorite part of Lost Ark. (Valtan was fun too.)
I wish to come back to this game, but that Pay to Win thing is insane...
They need to make horizontal raids, for example a new raid at the 1560 ilvl for people who are not hardcore 1630 players.
There is a raid at 1540.
I quit the game 5months ago and now I've returned 2weeks now..and my experience is so sad..gate keeping and can't keep up..people are so toxic
The first year of the game was absolute FIRE.
I think they should remove the cap on rewards. I loved chaos dungeons and would have loved to run them endlessly if I got rewarded. Having to bring up 8-9 alts just to gear up 1 toon was terrible.
"When the fk did Starcraft get update? 10 years ago?" Had me dying
It still makes me sad to think of how such a tuned combat game is killed by their own developers.
for me it`s was one of the best rpg games but now its dead sad
Even my mother would know how to fix this game. Ive never seen such self sabotage from a gaming company.
“YOURE GETTING BEAT BY OVERWATCH!” Lmao
Me: *innocently playing Maplestory as I watch this video*
"Hey, wtf man."
Well this is nice, I refreshed then instantly saw an Asmon upload!
Lol same 😂
Same xd
Same! 😂
Same
as a more casual player of lost ark, all I want is to be able to do everything by myself, nothing sucks more than grinding for an island's soul and finding out its impossible without 20 people. Also, the daily system is trash, I hate being grind limited based on daily caps, I would rather need to do 20 quests/dungeons in a row that take me 20 hours then 10 once a day.
Damage is done with chaos and raids. Even if they reduced them now... I think people are just sick of them. They need a redesign.
I'm sick of chaos, not the raids. Been playing since launch.
Problem is, actually getting there to do it and when you finally get there.
you are not invited to groups because people expect that not only you don't make a single mistake the first time you do it, but also they would rather invite people with overgear to farm it "quickly".
is really hard to find or make progress groups. and all of that takes a long, long time.
is a shame because the combat and raids by itself is really, really good.
guild and friends
@@2bladesRCARLOS3 my friends slowly started to quit due to inmense grind. and low time

Will have x5 the bots if they do 😂
I just went back to BDO, I'm having fun again in an MMORPG.
Absolutely atrocious.
lost ark = mmorpg
D4= ARPG
@@cosasrandom2272what the difference
The letters are completely different
Did you just say lost ark was a ARPG Lmao? Bad bait…
@@cosasrandom2272 d4 has some mmo aspects in it though so not fully ARPG
29:50 the sheer disgust Asmon feels because the guy said he plays MapleStory is so hilarious to me.
Lost Ark needs a private server with a normal MMO-ish progression system that pops off for Delusionalgate to finally understand what they are doing wrong.
Kind of like Wow private servers led to classic
I found Lost Ark very convoluted and unsatisfying
Controls are genuinely some of the worst in gaming
You can't wait for the next major content patch or the next year and expect the player base not to leave. I understand "bigger ships are slower to turn" for larger companies. But they are in the wrong business then cuz a successful live service games requires devs to have their finger on the pulse & makes those changes on the fly. That's the major problem with most live service games and that's why I avoid most of them. Also, korean mmos today are the same as in 2000s, the structure never changed. Classic
54:00 - Exactly. Confused on when people have the opposite stance with Diablo 4 "BuTTT ThAt Isn'T HoW ARpG's wOrK!!!!!!!"
Q. Why kids' games like MapleStory are so dominant
11:05 Asmon spitting facts hits different lol
8:28 chat's transition here killed me
The game caters to their most hardcore players with nothing but vertical content. Other MMOs are changing their games to accommodate more casual players, adding less grind and more ways to progress solo. But LA does the opposite. Everything to is a grind to get to where you need to be, and if you aren't there you're gatekept.
Also, raiding is still the only way to progress your character.
@@leafarasta4517 im 13 months playing nonstop and i did get 1580 on my striker without spending money thats all 1 year of grind would do
Well they also cater to forcing you to whale by putting you through long grinds. also @pangkamotegames "im 13 months playing nonstop" as a f2p if you played/need to play like 6hrs per day or more with 6 or more alts for 1 year just to get to that its kinda sad and sure proof the game doesn't respect your time. Meanwhile in mmos with proper progression you catch up in 2 or 3 months while being able to do every content until the last one
@@Kyrrua_ i still have 3 more diffrent accounts
Just glad I got to experience the Valtan fight. It was epic and worth every penny getting there.
lost ark is a well built theme park casino with poor ass boring slot machines
the only people that still play lost ark are the ones with sunk cost fallacy.
Games like D4 and LA seems to think that annoying players is a game mechanic that we the players want.
No, it's what companies use to try to make players pay more, pay to avoid, pay to save time, pay for convenience.
It's like they have no care about making a game that the players actually want.
47:23 - Craziest thing I've seen. Must be some kind of miracle.
However Amazon is giving the west some huge Ws and changes coming up very soon that will keep me playing for now.
what changes that amazon givin.. ?
No better character diversity than Lost Ark where they have gender locked classes?
Reject Lost Ark, embrace Dragonfable
A giant map, good storyline, GREAT RAIDS, a lot of side quest and exploration, achievements BUT YOU GET STUCK GRINDING RESOURCES. How can they not see you can't play the game cause you have to WORK FOR YOU CHARACTERS?
lol exactly then forcing people to play alts smh
they finally made Found Ark
i am sad about lost ark
playing diablo reminds me in many ways of how great lost ark really was
Daily, pheon,p2w and the grind killed the game for me
I switch from huge fan to hater
If this game reward me for 1 character ×6 i wont complain about any shit
Easy fix:
- Reduce dailies to x1 and double rewards
- Remove rehearsal, put all legion raid wipe mechanics in training mode
- Add alternative ways to earn similar or less gold for casuals (not raids)
most players left are the big whales who couldn't move on because they want to justify the amount of money they've spent in the game 😅
The exceptional long grind is what keeps me playing it
LostArk is the best example of how ignoring your playerbases will kill a game.
Wow what a trash game, and those dumb fanboys were unironically recommending me to play this garbage.
Meanwhile old school runescape still chugging on an upwards trend 20 years later
card system broke me. the gate keeping is unreal as a returning player
Yeah no.
