Our Master of Microscopes James was fascinated by something he found in some samples he had been given from Portugal. Something that would lead us to a kraken in the microcosmos…but how?

Better a kraken on the slide than a crack in the slide!
Cute❤
Brilliant !
Stop kraken jokes!
Amoeba -> kraken
Fly -> titanopteryx
Sometimes, it's just funny to name a tiny thing after a giant thing.
We humans do like our contradictory names.
Omg, you don't know how much I'm going to miss this channel
Why? Will it close?
@@LaPaginadiLeonardo yes... by the end of the year
A true tragedy
@@rodriguezelfeliz4623 Noooooo!!!!
@@rodriguezelfeliz4623 why
This channel is my number 1 use of my 4k monitor.
Yeah eventhough I got a 4k display on mobile, I still had to zoom in with the youtube app lol
I love this channel, not only for the really cool information and visuals and music, but because of how it allows Hank to channel a kind of Carl Sagan of the Small. It's a very relaxing tone.
I thought it said "we found a very tiny Karen" and I was like "omg what? A microscopic Karen?!" Glad it was only a kraken
Imagine looking in a microscope and seeing some tiny Karen asking where your manager is
I would like to speak to your Mitochondria
This is one of my favorite channel science channels but all good things sometimes come to an end. Hopefully this will bring a new project for us to enjoy
The Kraken's filaments remind me of mycelium, I wonder how related those are to fungus, probably just convergent evolution because it really looks just like mycelium filaments going out and exploring and feeding. So amazing.
I love you tiny kraken
Every time i see a new upload i know the end is coming closer 😢 you guys did such a good job on all these videos. Thanks James especially.
I kills me to know that this could be the last video in the channel. Give it a like
So glad your still posting content! I finally launched my little Microscopy channel...Im still super tiny but excited never the less...goodluck to you on your new educational venture!
What the heck was that super speedy hair blob at 1:14?
This show always relaxes me somehow. Any other similar microscopic world channels?
Sometimes i forget this is ending 😔 amazing video as usual
It grows to a size of a planet and Hank just absurdly continues to narrate casually as everyone sinks into chaos. Ah yes the beauty of life.
As always, brilliant, will rewatch it in due time
Good job finding that amoeba, why.
Release the Kraken! 😆 Lovely video, as always. We're going to miss this content. 😢
First Marine Kraken observed? Sounds like a new species
I always find it strange when you say that Kraken are mythological, when at least in German it's just a name for certain types of very much real cephalopod. Also isn't the mythological one a gigantic squid, not octopodes? Which not like they don't exist either. Maybe sailor's superstitions made them a bit more gigantic, and a lot more likely to attack ships. Humans probably have more to fear from a swarm of humboldt squid. More likely to meet and more aggressive too.
Another beautiful look into the microcosmos.
This is great content for a 4K TV, even better then most of UK live TV
(Proceeds to give the kraken a tiny gun)
that's the tiniest nope I've ever seen
Mmmm, that was a joy to watch and listen to
"When James was looking at his tiny amoeba..."
Not cool, Hank
if it's really tiny is it still a kraken or is it just a squid?
edit: I feel this video has been abandoned by the algorithm seeing how it only has 542 views in 17 minutes
Thank you Hank!
I love this channel so much. I'll miss yall but thank you so much.
I'm baffled by the level of negativity in some of these comments. Amazed by your work, as always, Microcosmos team 💚
I'm really gonna miss this channel once it's gone.
@2:00 that's one's of those evil turtles from super mario bros that become skeleton turtles when the die
I will miss this channel immensely.
One holiday journey - so much science subjects XD
What do you get when you watch JTTM?
Euglena lot of understanding
Ooh! Did I just find a new channel to feed my pre-bed routine? Music is a little much, but so soothing
Release the Very Very Tiny Kraken!
Pretty cool, I would have missed the fibropodia if you hadnt pointed them out. Ill bet they are really hard to see without the right lighting. Thanks for sharing. Charles
Did he keep it or did he take it back so he he shout "Release the Kraken!"?
These videos are so beautiful
I'm impressed with myself. I was able to identify what was interesting on the slide even though I didn't know what it was.
Groovy
Nice video, put please fix the typo in the title.
We all are going to miss you sooo much. And your future silence will be even louder because it will keep some of us from listening to your calm and mesmerizing voice.
Neat.
To me it looks like a moving fungi that spreads it's mycelium and walks to it while its absorbing
your videos are sooooooo fun to watch after some fat dabs.
The tiniest terror of the seas :D
I still need to know how the kraken brings his food from the tentacles to the digestive thing 😭
Id love to see whats in the water on the sides of pikes peak in my area
Shall I say it, shall I say it, I must say it..."Release the Kraken." I just had to. 🔬
sooo cool
It's krakenadelic baby!
It reminds me of slime molds.
It reminds me more of a spider rather than an octopus? Can't be just me right
Can you make a video about chaos carolinense!?
Man I love this content so much...im still so bummed its going away.
It baffles me how a channel with 800k subs + sponsorships couldnt be breaking at least even.
Should need 4 maximum: Micro guy, host, editor, writer.
Probably a mixture of editing, the equipment being expensive and other things meaning the couldn't realistically run it for ever
@@Solstice261 They sell 2000$ microscopes. What are you talking about?
@@JustArtsCreations that life is expensive and microscopy as well so is editing for you tube and the microscopes probably don't sell much since it's fairly niche, what are you implying? They lied to us and the real reason they are stopping is something malicious?
@@Solstice261 You clearly didnt read the post they made about closing the channel down.
They were paying the salary of like 12 people. No implications or conspiracies needed, they tiold us directly...they overstretched and its not economically viable to pay that many people.
So like i said, they need 4 people max for a channel like this. Why you're randomly attacking this concept is beyond me but some people just love to fight, i guess.
And a researchers
What do you do with the samples after you film them?
When will they get more microscopes???
Doesn't the microcosm seem to be a 2D realm (or 2 1/2 dimensional realm if you consider the projections into the third dimension albeit half heartedly.
Let's hope this kraken doesnt ruin my eve return mission
Very fungi like, is this close to the link.
We need to donate and support. The channel will definitely close indefinitely otherwise.
Nam boss movie October 11 kke release agtha ide avattu poora India dalli habbane❤️
Sounds like a hank lol
Haha I was right, I saw it!
What does the 30 Um mean on the bottom right of the screen ??
That's a scale bar! It gives us humans a reference to the size of the things on screen, and in this case, that line measures 30 micrometers (that u symbol is the greek letter mu, which is used as the abbreviation for the prefix micro-), so it's 30 millionths of a meter across.
What's up with the volume bro?
Please don't stop making these videos 😍
Is biology internet ready to hear that phylogeny ≠ name ≠ what a thing is?
21 seconds ago how am.i so early
great stuff btw
what bout the flesh eating amoebas... Truely as scary as the Kraken
Does anyone else sit and watch this during their lunch like me and wonder what on God’s green earth they would find on living on my salad 😂
I'm sorry to report that I only watch these episodes when Hank narrates. The great efforts done by others to recreate his voice modulation unique to this show just don't cut it for me. Hank, please don't abandon this post. Thank-you. I'm I alone on this?
Same
i like turtles!
Hank is just perfect for a narrator
Ok, but,... Why, Hank? WHY?!
Where does the pseudopod's external material come from? Is there a limited amount of membrane to spread around? Is there a slurry of ingredients floating around that makes it on the fly? Is it just a reaction because some chemical signal is stronger in that direction so it kinda bends like phototropic plants? Does the cell itself "know" something that sends more resources in one direction while still keeping another area searching? What part of the cell actually decides which direction to send a tendril of this kraken? At what point do we find the OG algorithms? Viruses seem to have gone c+, but this thing is DOS, at least. Humans are barely multicore processing... AI is blowing past us, but it still doesn't seem to be able to explain why these bags of pre-programmed lego bricks keeps surprising us.... I'm just a bag of programs, aren't I? ok... "why am I?"
Questions: logged.
Hank, so you've answered many of the questions I've had, and most of the ones I didn't know to ask... now I have 10x more. 40 yrs of researching questions, mostly my own, and I want to know WHAT TO ASK NEXT. I like finding answers, but I've really had to hone my asking skills, just to find more questions to ask/answer...
Guess there's no real question there... now where are my answers?
kraken irá pegar você.
If you’re going to do the obnoxious arrows-all-over thumbnail, then you might as well go all in on selling out to the algorithm and have a reaction face, too.
Nóoooooooo
Did you see it? ⭕
Looking into a microscopic world has a very distinctive ‘look’ - has anyone considered using AI to process several focal planes & combining them into a single SCUBA viewing perspective, so that it looks like you’re in The amoeba ocean with them, experiencing a depth of field common to what us macro organisms call The consensus reality ( ? )
I don't understand the title. or is it just me?
very nice. saddens me that you are gonna stop
🩵
I read a tiny Karen
Gathering fooood with long extensions, moving slowly.
Quite the horrifying setup.🤣
