Thank you for showing the behind the scenes tour. I am sure you are going to have a lot of fun on your shore excursion. I would like to see where you go and your travel/restaurant/activity recommendations. I really loved seeing your videos on Japan. It really made me miss it. I want to stay at hotels that had the really good food that came with the room. I am not sure if you are allowed to video some of your performances, but it would be cool to also see some of them.
How are you liking the newer ship compared to Rhapsody? I went on Liberty a few times this year! I'd love to see the crew areas, especially if you can sneak into the Captain's quarters!
Thanks Alley for this! What a trip down memory lane. I was part of the new build team on the Rhapsody back in 1996 and brought the ship out from France. I served as Crew Relations Manager and IT Operations Manager later on... Oh and I also used to run the spotlights in the production shows as a side job lol! So cool to see the good old RH, she looks really great for her age! They don't make them like that anymore! Smooth sailing Alley and to all the RH crew! 🙂
You earned a sub, thank you for the tour. Two of the best times of my life...4 day Carnival cruise and a 7 day Carnival cruise. Awesome food, excellent customer service, so much fun and freedom to pursue the particular fun you crave. Thanks to selfless crew members everything seems to flow as if unhindered. Thank you.
I doubt you will see this or read this since its so old but thank you, for showering us what you can and taking us on a tour, I really appreciated it. I been on a couple of cruises yes I know the magnitude but to see it really puts in in perspective, like WOW. Thank you. I will be watching more of your videos, thank you. I have to say, you are very very beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous.
I love your vids I've considered applying for job as paramedic on cruise ship but don't know how much I would get to enjoy the traveling and the cruise!
"Engine Control Room," or what I know from the Navy as "Main Control." Serves exactly the same purpose though this one looks like it would be more at home in a nuclear carrier. Your Bridge looks much different than what I'm used to, far more room with fewer personnel on watch. Also no Helm wheel! Joy sticks when not under computer control is what I've heard. Thanks for the look "Behind the Scenes."
@@wanderlustalley I saw the ice skating show, the "In the Air" Aerial show and "Saturday Night Fever!" You, the dancers, the production - everything was fantastic.
This is an amazing video I’m going on my first cruise on Royal Caribbean Oasis of the sea next year it’s going to France Spain and Italy and I can’t wait
Thank you for this tour. I just found your channel and find all of this fascinating. I knew several people in TV News who left for good contracts to do audio/video on ships. This is also fine because my wife and I took a cruise on Rhapsody 21 years ago. Still looks very nice!
Fun fact - most of the stuff you drink is Kosher. Its easier to just certify everything rather than just stuff going to kosher stores. So look on your can of pepsi you will see a little tiny K symbol. This is true for pretty much all liquids.
In 2019 I went on a Behind the scenes tour on the Norwegian Star. It was really cool to see a good portion of the Behind the scenes on board the CruiseShip. That cruise where I went this tour was a Panama Canal Cruise. That trip was so much fun and I definitely hope to do that cruise again in the future. That was the second cruise I had ever been on. In total I have been on 3 cruises and I am about to go on my 4th cruise in January of 2024. I have been to Alaska in 2010 on a Princess Cruise Ship, then a Panama Canal Cruise in 2019 on Broad the Norwegian Star and then a Mexican cruise in 2020 aboard the Norwegian Dawn which is the sister ship to the Norwegian Star. The next ship we will be cruising on is the Nieuw Statandam from Holland America Lines. It will also be the first cruise where I have 6 other family members going on this Cruise as well and possibly some more family members as well will be joining us on that cruise too.
awesome behind the scenes on your last ship. Yes nice to hear about the recycling We've cruised RCI a lot and enjoy them the best SMart to have security for engine and bridge Going through your packing and boarding process for LIberty would be interesting How many in the cast, what other shows do they have. Ice show? Sat night Fever, so the current cast performs and new cast installs Keep that smile and pleasant disposition
Their show of recycling was put in place to rehabilitate their image after being caught illegally dumping at sea several times. They were fined $18MM after pleading guilty to 21 counts of dumping oil at sea. That was just a year after paying a $9MM for other dumping at sea. They were caught having secret systems on board from pumping oily bilge water into the sea at night... They make a show of being green but are anything but. Even if they did their best, something they don't do, cruising can never be green.
Not to criticise but all departments, except from Performers, work AT LEAST 10 hours every single day! I am surprised when people who work onboard don’t know / notice how many hours other departments have to work. And it is also sad that, no one from other departments is actually here on YT showing the other side of the coin (80% of the times not able to go out in port, work work work). I am a former performer and I know exactly how much effort you guys put in each show, and how much you trained to get there, but I have the feeling that people who want to work onboard and come across only performers YT channels might get a distorted reality of what it is really like…
Not critical at all! I totally agree and am thankful that I and my fellow cast members are very aware of how hard everyone works. I think most people who could stumble across my video would be surprised to learn that kind of info which is why I said it in the way that I did 😁 I definitely agree that some people may not have the best idea of what it can be like since there’s not a ton of interdepartmental representation on YT! I’m thinking to maybe interview some other departments to share some of that !
The problem is that, unlike performers, other departments have very strict rules and regulations, one of them being do not post anything in social media and if you do, better be positive. So even if you go out of your way to do interviews and find someone willing to provide time for this, they cant show their face or will suffer consequences. Performers do work hard too, but not at the level other departments do and have much much MUCH more perks and benefits (single cabins, able to eat at guest’s buffet and/or restaurants at any given time..) For God’s sake, there are even departments where crew have to ASK PERMISSION IN ADVANCE to go to Guest areas to something as simple as a dinner or a show and this can be rejected. Its segregational and retrograded in many ways how management on board treat most of the crew (I even heard one HR saying she would be “disgusted” to see crew EATING in the same place as her if she were a guest, mental AF). It is literally like modern type slavery for most.
@@MLopezBr10 it depends on the company unfortunately but also on the management… also, some companies are very honest even before hiring you so, even though it’s not the best lifestyle, some people know and still sign for it! There’s too much disparity in between ranks onboard, and that’s not ok. I hope one day they’ll all realise how hard it is
We were looking at a cruise on this line. The posts are making me think twice. Def seem to be have/have not situation. And, I still see employees and others wearing masks on the boat. Are they sick?
I just began my next contract onboard Liberty of the Seas! Let me know what you want to see next 😊

I'll take anything ship related cause I'll be onboard in 46 days.

Folded sheets that is something. And leaving Israel. A lot like to travel there.
I recognize this woman. She had that sponsored instagram reel where she was dancing in a sun dress to "Our Song" by Taylor Swift: super adorable!

Can I ask if you know if youth staff have guest area privileges
Like pools/hottubs and dining options other than the crew mess ?
I think it depends on the cruisse line, but I think on occasion I've see them in the buffets very early in the morning while on cruises
Most of them have access to the buffet, but not pools or hot tubs.
@@jng72769 Except there *are* designated crew pools on a lot of ships
