Ok, now I get it. I thought it was just a bad game that got too much hate. I didn't realize they sold it at 60 USD just like their other main line games, then also needed 4 amiibos for the full game experience. And it's not even as fun as other party games where you actually have more sense of agency. I think Amiibo festival can be great for kids, but even kids won't play this too long because it's all based on luck.
I assumed it was a free game, considering you already need to spend money on Amibos.
actually no, it only requires 1, which you can get 1 of in the physical version.
I disagree with this, Mario Party fills that role already.
This isn't "great for kids" it is low effort using kids as an excuse.
An unfortunately common trend for making quick money.
16:59 The funny thing is: I've witnessed a CPU get the money tree space once. *And it still lost* because the CPUs are garbage at the stalk market (i.e. they don't go all in). They were only a couple happy points behind though, so they would have easily won if they were slightly better/luckier or if I didn't have a commanding lead already.
I've also gotten a similarly rare bad money space where it's you *planting* the money tree. It makes you *lose 30k bells* because that's the amount you bury to do it.
Also, another *amazing* design decision: other human players CAN play without amiibo figures and play as a human villager. They will roll the dice with the A button instead of scanning the amiibo (which begs the question of why the amiibo is needed anyway), BUT they will NOT gain a free happy point every time they roll, meaning that they're automatically at a *30 Happy Points disadvantage* compared to players who do use amiibo figures, for absolutely no reason at all
The only good parts of amiibo Festival are the Animal Crossing Quiz and Desert Island Escape, but the former is now somewhat obsolete with New Horizons since it was based on New Leaf content, and the latter *was ported to New Leaf Welcome amiibo* anyway, with the added perk of giving you unique furniture for completing it, making it *objectively better* in New Leaf because of that incentive to play it, so now there literally no good reason to play amiibo Festival
The only reason I don't regret buying it is because I got it new on sale for only 15€, which was worth it just for the amiibo figures and cards and I consider the game to be the free bonus instead of the other way around
The "non-amiibo player" disadvantage makes this about as blatant a money grab as you could possibly ask for lmao
The truly infuriating thing about Amiibo Festival is that it was announced when everyone was desperate for a new console Animal Crossing. The WiiU never got a true Animal Crossing game. If Amiibo Festival had come out after a true Animal Crossing game on the WiiU, it still would have been a bad game, but it never would have been as hated as it is. WiiU era was truly the Nintendoomed era.
Wii U is the Sega Saturn of Nintendo
WiiU has decent games on it then there's Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival.
as someone who attempted to just play one round of this game a few months back to get to the amiibo card minigames and gave up right before the end because all it did was infuriate and upset me to play on my own, i commend your bravery and/or stupidity
It's honestly not even really worth it for that since the only minigame worth playing (Desert Island Escape) was added to New Leaf in the Welcome Amiibo update anyways
For the money tree thing, if you want footage on it nitro rads review actually has him getting the tree and his friends staring at the screen in utter disbelief
The fact the video starts with scott the woz screaming- that represents his entire channel
the thing about amiibo festival is that after I discovered the full-fledged turn based strategy game *within* the regular mainline game, it made me want to set myself on fire knowing I paid $60 for amiibo festival
Wait, what? I don't know anything about Animal Crossing, where is this?
@dekucake4395 it's called "Desert Island Escape" and it's a little game you can play in Amiibo Festival and New Leaf. It's pretty cool and the only good thing in Amiibo Festival imo
@@dekucake4395 I assume they're talking about the console-activated minigames contained in some of the mainline games? I don't know if any of them are multiplayer, though, and I haven't played every mainline AC game. Iirc, in Population Growing, you can actually collect old playable NES games!
in animal crossing new leaf (more exactly the welcome amibo update) you could get a wiiu with isald escape on it @@SuperHighSchoolLevelMeganekko
What I hate most about this game is that an competent Animal Crossing Party game would have AMAZING potential
I have this game, but not for the game itself, It was like 15-20 bucks, and that was cheaper than buying the two Amiibos it came with separately, lol. So I bought it as an Amiibo collector at the time. I didn't even have a Wii U then. I think the Amiibos were cheaper later, as they made a massive amount of the Animal Crossing Amiibos, so they were super cheap later down the line.
The only way to master this game is to master RNG manipulation
8:04 I was told by some of my Afghan friends that they gamble super hard in Afghanistan to a game called Ludo which is very similar to trouble. So know you are not alone
Kreelvin this video revived my dead grandmother
was confusion her epitaph?
kreelvin
Lol
@@infinitefun527 yes, and I fear tomorrow I'll be crying
ah so between the iron gates of fate the seeds of time are sewn?@@elbowjuiced
This video is insanely good! I love your sense of humor and editing, combined with the self destructive desire to master something that super duper sucks and is uncontrollable. The vibe reminds me a lot of a video on youtube where a speedrunner tries to master the super RNG King Boo fight in Mario Sunshine.
Great job and keep up the good work! I'm definitely subbing. Though I won't blame you if you wanna play something more fun next.
In defense of this game: I'm a furry.
I fully agree with this defense, and it's the defense I use as well.
ewww furries (im furry too)
Idk i think its pretty boring :( sorry
Damn
A
I have a vivid memory of playing this game years ago, i still have the copy. I love this game. Why? Because It's so bad that It's good and I have fond memories of it. I will defend it with my life.
Can't believe you played Amiibo Festival this much. Legendary
god i remember going to see friends and while we were sitting around in their home trying to pick what to do they popped this on, didn't realize how bad it was until it started going and i realized there was absolutely nothing to do, but i didn't have the heart to say i didn't really want to play this anymore
unironically i would love a super casual and chill party game, as long as it was a *fun* super casual and chill party game. surely there is a way to do that right?
I am totally a part of the 1% of people who love the game. I only heard such negative things about it, I got it as a gift because I was collecting the amiibos and it was on sale, and I got obsessed with playing it because I wanted to unlock all the alternate outfits for characters.
I think "it's so bad it's good" and "I just love it and would kill you to protect it" is a great way to sum up my feelings towards it. Amiibo festival lovers stand up, we know our taste is bad but at least we're having fun!
Also no online gamer I watch has played it long enough to unlock or do map customization and that makes me sad. Ya could have added the cafe...
I am so glad that you finally played Gex!
“AAAAAAAH”- Scott the woz
The thing about Trouble is that it's a basic game built around using your rolls to screw other players and get ahead, making it deceptively competitive. There's no random bonus, no long dialogue, no lengthy waiting for another person's two-five minute turn. That $10 game has won the battle and the war, lol. XD
Hear me out…
Keelvin is aMUNCH
RIP fourth friend. You'll not be missed
Glad for yours sacrifices for us
Props for the determination
The humor is absolute gold
This game beat me up and stole my lunch money
yo u scared the shit out me with that intro i was chilling to an auto playlist😨
This is some high quality editing.
“if you dont like animal crossing then how dare you” REAL
I’ve gotten the instant win space before it made all my friends rage quit
To quote a saying I heard once "If this is trash then I am a raccoon."
bro the subway surfers got me BAD
I also enjoy this game. Play it with my mom. It's like Candy Land & even more fun when it's turned into a drinking game
Hey keelvin do you even plan on making another tboi repentance video?
The stock market thing's a decent idea, but we've kinda seen that sort of thing with Mario Party, specifically:
- MP1's Peach's Birthday Cake, where the "betting your money" thing plays out like Monopoly: pay up some cash to place a piranha plant on a space that can steal other players' stuff should they land on it
- MP8's Koopa's Tycoon Town (and a couple other boards with a similar gimmick but I think most remember Tycoon Town in particular), where the hotels scattered about run on more of an auction format: each hotel gives out more stars the more coins are sunken into them, but only the player contributing the most coins to that hotel gets those stars
Its so bad, I've seen a copy of it on sale for $2 at a discount store that sells clothes
There were numerous games on the NES and SNES that were very similar to this. You essentially walked around a Mario Party board and wacky scenarios would happen in text boxes every round. I assume this was an intended spiritual successor to those games. For some reason.
I got amiibo Festival for $20 on Walmart clearance solely for the exclusive amiibos because I wanted a Goldie card and a Stitches card at that time. Didn't even own a Wii U. Traded the game itself in to the used game store for like $5 probably (was with other shit and you don't get an itemized list of values there, just the grand total). Still got more worth out of it than if I'd kept it or ordered regular cards online.
Man you look awesome
Fun fact: this is the only animal crossing game I have played
oh no... please love yourself and give new leaf or the gamecube original a try if you can!! animal crossing can be really great, i promise!
KEELVIN YOU HAVE TO PLAY WORLD OF GOO 2 WHEN IT COMES OUT
Ive never even heard of this game and i thought i knew a lot about animal crossing lmao
As a kid I mastered this game instantly-
Did this man just say spy kids is bad???
It’s our boi!
I think that Nintendo Switch Bakugan game was so bad it's good. Thanks Wayforward.
Uhh pro youtube tip, that very complex background image you used screws up youtube's compression so I don't recommend it. Still, I have been curious about this topic for awhile
i admire this
i think the game is worth the price that **I** payed for it
but that's because gamestop was so desperate to get rid of it that it was only like 5 bucks
so i got a cheap animal crossing game that has some fun elements to it and good side modes for 5 bucks. but i would NOT pay 60 bucks for it
I don’t think it’s a good game either but I won’t lie, I love this game as well. And I would gladly play it with you because it is way more fun to play with other people.
it’s a me luigi
It's a he
Keelvin wake up i beg you Wake Up You All
I think people just collected the cards to use in New horizons. I heard people bought the game just to get the cards included.
i don't think i would make it
Hey did you know they made another find the alien game?
I am so very hungry
In offence of this game: the best mode is playable in mew leaf
I swear I've seen/heard you in either a TearOfGrace or Greystillplays video
When people acknowledge Scott The Woz, I'm surprised it's Keelvin of all people.
"touch an amiibo?"
HWUH!!
howd he get a bootleg
yooo nitro rad cameo
I like amigo festival
Wait do you actually hate Kirby 64 or was that a joke title?
Who is this guy?
If you need a good game. Go play sunset overdrive. It has the most beautiful weapons.
animals are cross
damn
Bean
not as bad as mario party top 100
Okay
I honestly like this game!
this video made my uncle pregnant :(
Why would you start a video with a scream like that...
The only Nintendo game worse than this one is Chibi Robo Zip Lash.
Hi!
wahhooo
Lets-a go! It's-a me, keelvin!
This game is as bad as Tainted Jacob tbh
I ship keelvin and the bois. I hope they have a happy poly relationship 🙏
Had to stink up this video with your horrid New Horizons take
Unsubbed so I can sub again.
10th also nice video bro
play ff13-3 its THE worst ff games
It’s Animal Crossing though.
Hi, I'm a comment
Disappointedly jumpscared by AI generated images. Ugh.
?
@Keelvin The Luigi and Kirby pictures you used carry traits of AI image generation. It's most noticable in the Kirby one, as it shows 6 toes on each foot instead of 5. There's also strangeness going on in the Luigi one but it's not as potentially obvious.
LITERALLY correct me if I'm wrong on that--I don't mean to accuse you of it if you aren't using it on purpose or if I'm wrong. I'm just incredibly wary of AI-generated images, especially as an artist, considering the ramifications that AI tools can have in the grand scheme of things. 🙏
Oh yeah it is ai i didn’t know what you were talking about but its just a quick meme
@@Keelvin 🙃 Idk why use AI when it could've been photoshopped instead but all right
@wyrmlight1168 That's a bit to knit picky, my dude
