Yeah definitely wrote amazing lyrics and sometimes good music, but it’s not like Sparklehorse or Elliott Smith where the music is as important as the lyrics. But yeah it works and Vic is amazing. Would’ve loved a literal full album collaboration of Sparklehorse and Vic Chesnutt.
@christiangasior4244 vic was an influence on Sparklehorse. They have a song together ... Mark Linkous was friends with vic and killed himself 3 months after Vic did. It's not unlikely that there was a profound influence there.
