Gary Hinds I’m seriously not a fan of videos like these that show gentrified restaurants without having the decency and respect to be patrons at restaurants that have been in the same family or had the same recipes for generations. This sends the wrong idea to some that will travel here
Well, Hattie B's is better than Prince's and so is Big Shake's when it comes to hot chicken places. Pharmacy is probably one of the best burger restaurant in Tennessee. Acme is good if you're clubbing. Mas Tacos is darn good Americanized Hispanic food. Although I prefer Red Bicycle, Crema is also very good if you're a coffee lover. Puckett's is ok. Five Daughters is darn good donuts if you don't mind paying basically $5 a donut as it's more gourmet donuts. However, I prefer the Donut Palace in Hermitage and Murfreesboro especially the M'Boro one as those are so airy and light they basically melt in your mouth. I've never been to Biscuit Love. If the food is good, go eat it as that's my philosophy in life and these are some darn good food places.
Prince's exactly. Wendell Smith's serves a better breakfast than biscuit love any day of the week. Thankfully I wont have to dine in the presence of vegetarians.
This is the watered down touristy version. I've lived here my whole life and she's skipping over the BOMB food! If you like wings there's PLUCKERs, knock out wings, nuttin but wings. If you like gyros there's chicago style gyros and house of gyros, pyramids... In mt juliet there's Coreys dog house. Boltons sells wonderful spicy food Moore's Chicken is in Hendersonville tn *amazing* Helens hot chicken. The Cupcake collection is great. Eds fish is a classic... if you love seafood we have the storming crab and also "juicy" these are 2 new restaurants. Slim + Huskys has phenomenal pizza!
Any such list should start with Prince's chicken. I did not like them lumping Prince's and Hatti B's together. Helen's hot chicken on Jefferson gives Prince's a run for their money.
Pretty sure Prince’s is the only one that’s been around for longer than the hipster invasion. Lots of restaurants I can think of would more truly represent local flavor (if that’s really what you’re after), but they just aren’t cool to look at or in trendy neighborhoods. In general, most of Nashville isn’t really for Nashvillians anymore anyway.
I'm in Nashville and have been for 20 years. We now have over 600 restaurants! You mentioned some good ones, but.. You missed our beloved. Which is fine!! There's no way of knowing unless you're from here, and a vegetarian! Thank you for the shout out!! 💓💓💓💓💓
I’m headed in toNashville in October, I’m looking for true Nashville restaurants, not the “in style” ones. Can you give me a good list, breakfast through dinner I’m there for a week. Thanks!
I disagree. Hattie B's has a lot more flavor to go with those spices and I also like Big Shake's more when it comes to hot chicken. They also have the shrimp burger, which is darn good. Prince's might be the originator but they're far from being the best.
For whatever it's worth, I live 45 minutes from Nashville and my go to spot for food in Nashville is the San Antonio Taco Company. I've been there at least 100 times and probably more. They co-catered my wedding, too.
I was in Nashville last month we just ate on Broadway lol because that's where we were every night lol. But I did have five daughters donuts and that was great !
Cidco gas station on brick church pike chicken is really good but limited hours. To go plates only. Not hot or andything like that but just delicious. You can add own condiments and cost lot less
We absolutely LOVED Hattie B's and Biscuit Love! We were so happy to have been able to try these two places. I know we missed some other good ones but these were on the top of our list and we couldn't have been more thrilled with the experience and the food at both places!
Food is controversial but just ask and we can make recommendations. That is how I learned it was either a hit or a miss. Prince's Hot Chicken (BEST hot chicken in Nashville) Garden Brunch Cafe = the best brunch in Nashville Slim and Husky's (Pizza) Knockout Wing's Legins Seafood Southern V (vegan) Gordon's (brunch and dinner) Seafood Sensations Helen's Hot Chicken

I’m glad they don’t do any false advertising, these are just 7 places, not the best or the most interesting menu, etc. literally some of the biggest tourist traps in Nash on the list. Would recommend going and doing your own research. FYI Crema is not “easily” the best coffee spot. It’s the most hipster and posh that’s for sure.
Missed so many good places! Cupcake Collection has the most amazing cupcakes. Monell’s at the Manor is an institution. For pizza it has to be Slim and Husky’s. And for Mexican food to knock your socks off the Plaza Mariachi.
I live in Columbia since 1997 and I thought the selection was fine. I guess it depends on how far from the center of Nashville you are going to go in recommending places. Most of these are centrally located. What I would love to see is a video review of well known restaurants who have locations at the food court. Prince's, Hattie B's and Pharmacy all have locations in the food court. How do they compare to the originals?

Instead of Hattie B’s go to Prince’s it’s the original and the chicken has flavor as well as heat.
I actually like Helen's Hot Chicken

The prince's chicken they showed in the video isn't the original store (Nashville). They cook the chicken differently at the Antioch location.

Big Shakes for hot chicken. New store in Rivergate.

If ya want some good hot chicken go to Pepper Fire Hot Chicken try the Tender Royal it come with a deep fried grilled cheese.
Pepper fire is terrible!
I recommend the Farm Burger at the Pharmacy: country ham, smoked bacon, maple mustard, and a dripping over-easy egg. It's the best!!
My wife and I went to Hattie Bs and Pucketts downtown was great thanks for the video
My favorite restaurant is Dalt's American Grill on White Bridge Rd. in West Nashville.
I would recommend trying the hot chicken at Edley's BBQ. They don't get the attention of Hattie Bs or Prince's, but the food is fantastic.
