Hey! I can answer your question about why the scaffolding does that in 8:14. That’s actually the purpose of it! It’s for players to build up to get on the roof of somethjnf if they’re building in survival. Then they can easily get down without taking damage

This is an amazing build, but make sure to use creativity! Maybe you could use different fences, or even walls! Try using soul torches or lanterns instead of just torches, use wood relevant to your biome, like oak or birch! If you're in an area with not a lot of podzol, make patches of podzol instead! Instead of ferns, you could use flowers, there are endless possibilities, so try putting your own spin on it!
Yes, absolutely! This was a point that I didn't make when I created this tutorial, because at the time I was focusing on a block by block build with no room for the creativity you mentioned. Since uploading this video, I've gotten tons of responses from folks who have shared how they edited this build to suit their creative needs. It's has been a blast reading those comments!
Another thing you can do is that if you have an arctic fox, you can replace the ground with snow (or do nothing if your base is in a biome with snow), add sweet berries, ferns, and maybe a small stream/pond (since the ice plains have lakes/rivers), use ice in certain spots in the ground, and maybe have 1 spruce wood tree (would recommend if your pen is a good size). But thats what I would do if I had an arctic fox

Um... and if they see a rabbit or chicken and jump 3 blocks high?! Right over the fence! Ik bc I had that exact problem! U need at lest a 4 block high fens if u don’t want them to get out, and evan then they could if they really wanted to! Theres literally a chicken in the background!!

I rewatched my video and counted them all, lol! Dark oak stripped wood - 22 Spruce trapdoors - 5 Spruce slabs - 15 Spruce stairs - 22 Spruce fences - Just make 2 full stacks Dark oak slabs - 1 full stack
The dimensions are 15x11 because the entire build is a rectangular structure to accommodate the climbing area and yard on the right-hand side of the fox's house. I'm not sure how 16x16 would make it "right", since that would not include the yard and climbing structure.
@@AlexIsModded literally tried the 15x11 and it was bad uneven with how you was saying to do the post on the fence had to make it 16by 16 to make it right and how could 16 by 16 not work if you say that 11 by 11 can literally work?

I have my own custom fox pen that my online bud Kople and I built, and my lord they love it. If they even get close to that pen they will instantly fall asleep. It’s fenced off, has a slanted roof with a gap in the middle, a tree in the middle, a few snowy spots for the snow fox, lots of sweet berries, and soon I want to add some more little things :D I’ve fallen in love with foxes ever since my old fox Burt, they’re so cuteeeee

i think that this is a great video. but just be aware that your fox could easly jump out. they can jump from 2-5 blocks. so maybe use some barrier blocks. anyways i think that i might build the little hut part of it for my foxes!!
The spruce fences just line the mossy cobblestone. So you can just place the fences directly on top of the cobble. The fence gates are just meant to line up evenly with the grass path. If you want to move the grass path to a different spot, then the fence gates would line up with it. Does that make sense?
It's all fun and games until a chicken walks by and your fox jumps out...

I use a two-high wall of fences these days to keep them in.
