There are plenty of great songs from Melodifestivalen! Some of my favourites (mainly based on meaning behind them) are Human by Oscar Zia, Soldiers by Ulrik Munther and Save Me by Wiktoria! (as well as songs such as Statements that you have already reacted to! :D ) I also like this one, but prefers Benjamins mainly because of me not liking Felix, though I can see that he is very talented!

Felix used to be in a group called "The Fooo Conspiracy" which was kind of a swedish One Direction who've released songs like "Who Doesn't Love Love" and "Build a Girl". In 2017 one of the members left the group and rest of the group competed in Melodifestivalen and reached the finals with the new name of "FO&O" with the song "Gotta Thing About You". There's no offical split up of the group but all three just want to do their own thing right now and Felix decided to enter again in Melodifestivalen with this song.
He had a bit of a cold and he aimed to be emotional, but with better vocals it could have lead him to victory. Also he was in a boy band from a quite early age until just recently. First solo performance here. But it was very produced man, in that they produced a minimalistic feel, but with perfect camera angles and hand motions. The song is completely amazing. I don’t care much for analyzing the make-up of a song, since you just feel if it’s basic or interesting anyway. I hold Felix and Benjamin as equals this year.

This year wasn't that good though but you can find lot of very good entries in the past editions. Many of them could have done very well in Eurovison. Some countries would have killed for being represented by those entries. If you let me I can suggest Linda Pritchard "Alive" , "I will wait" by Isa and "I'll be fine" by Molly Pettersson Hammar (as Instant requests) you won't regret.

Of the 28 songs competing In MelFest, the 12 ending up in the final, are all rather high standard, and divide the nation, so the voting is rather equal - most songs getting around 6-11 % of the votes. It is a close call. I prefered Benjamin, liking the kind of 'Michael Jackson' vibes. For me, Felix performance was leaning too much on the 2017 winner, Sobral, with the emotional agitation - but, since it was rehearsed and very consistent, it did not move me in the same way, it did not strike me as 100% sincere. Which of course is very hard to accomplish in such a big and strainful situation as a competition. Moreover his singing abilities are nowhere close to the German ballad this year, as someone suggested. Felix is still so young. Keep practicing, and one day he might be.

''Dance you off'' is all polished and well produced, but nobody wants to vote for a dancing plastic doll with a soulless plastic song. I voted for Loreen, and was very disappointed when she didn't go to the finals. The songs weren't bad, but the competition was hard. I think she didn't go to the finals in 2017 because it's mostly young kids who vote with the voting heart app, and it was probably a bit to dark, artsy and scary for the ones who are still in kindergarten. They would rather vote for some cute boy. There was also a part of Loreen's performance, with a lady and a handbag, and the woman who that story was based on killed herself, and her son threatened to sue Melodifestivalen, Loreen and SVT if that part wasn't removed, which Loreen refused to do. I think some people thought that was a bit insensitive of her to the family of the deceased. In 2011 she lost to a singer songwriter woman singing about running from an abusive relationship (Sara Varga Spring för livet), which a lot of people probably felt a lot of sympathy for, that it had an important message, it was far from "the clean, cut, slick, pop" you're talking about.

Jake: I've just discovered this song because of you. Thank you. Beautiful. I love it. But I think it didn't win the Melodifestivalen because many people would prefer a different type of song as this one has something in common with Salvador Sobral's winning song in 2017: Both are very personal, very intimate and many people would prefer a change of genre or register.

Yeah, it came 2nd. And I feel like the majority thinks this should have won, me included. Such a Beautiful and pure song…. ''Dance you off'' is all polished and well produced, but nobody wants to vote for a dancing plastic doll with a soulless plastic song. I think if Sweden had sent Felix Sandman instead of Benjamin , they surely wouldn't have ended up 23rd in Televote. Maybe Felix will try again next year, now that the People voted him on 2nd place, they'll maybe make him win next time.

I have ASKED for this one for a couple of weeks.
I want to know, how did it happen that she wasn´t send to the finals 2011 and 2017? are the people watching melodifestivalen deaf? was it something wrong with the tv in sweden 2011 and 2017? Im not saying she had to win, im just asking how come she didnt go thru to the finals? was the songs that bad?.
What does the swedish people want, clean, cut, slick, pop, radio, robatic? nasty
I voted for Loreen, and was very disappointed when she didn't go to the finals. The songs weren't bad, but the competition was hard.
I think she didn't go to the finals in 2017 because it's mostly young kids who vote with the voting heart app, and it was probably a bit to dark, artsy and scary for the ones who are still in kindergarten. They would rather vote for some cute boy. There was also a part of Loreen's performance, with a lady and a handbag, and the woman who that story was based on killed herself, and her son threatened to sue Melodifestivalen, Loreen and SVT if that part wasn't removed, which Loreen refused to do. I think some people thought that was a bit insensitive of her to the family of the deceased.
In 2011 she lost to a singer songwriter woman singing about running from an abusive relationship (Sara Varga Spring för livet), which a lot of people probably felt a lot of sympathy for, that it had an important message, it was far from "the clean, cut, slick, pop" you're talking about.
It was my winner! But I guess people prefer flashy Ben! 😒
And he finished 2nd! And he competed last year with his old group FO&O, which made the final but it was bland!
