Great work on that tank! I already know, or at least i can imagine, that you work mostly on tanks requested by paying customers. That said, i see that T-72B got modeled in two different variants, the "naked" version (B and B1) and Kontakt-1 version (BA and B1V). Can we expect to see the mod. 2016 and/or mod. 2022 version of T-72B3? (assuming that internally they are all exactly the same, only 2014 version should be different due to PK-PAN sight, but i'm not 100% sure). After all, changes should be "only" about Relikt ERA, cage armor and 1.130HP engine from T-90M 😏😏😏 That said, keep up the good work and thank you in advance for the answer, you rock! 💪
I don't speak Russian so I'm not certain if this is stated in a manual that could be found online, but will the Steel Beasts wiki page for this vehicle cover the specifics of the new reticle? I quickly noticed that there are some no lines that I'm not familiar with, and a lot of missing lines, such as the stadia rangefinger. Do the new lines aid with the gunners ability to manually estimate range, lead the target, etc? I assuming to new vertical and horizontal tiny lines may be 2,7m at 5km as to aid with making sure the target is within AT-11 range. Same question for the thermal reticle, it appears to have 4 smaller lines at the top and bottom of the crosshair, I'm assuming they do the same? Thank you for the great video as well, very excited for this update.
it includes automatic range set and target lead system so you dont need the traditional gun sight, but im sure there is probably a manual backup sight as most tanks have
Great! would be nice to have an option to have english labels in systems and switches. I know that is not in real simulation, but the people that in their tanks understand russian, which we do not. DCS do the same in some russian aircrafts officially and that doesn't break anything. Would be nice.
It is version-dependent. It may be that it's not available in your version 4.3, in which case it will become available later this year with the final version 4.3 update.

this is a comprehensive tank training system used by NATO so of course they stay up to date, I believe they have switchblade kamikaze drones as well as the already included infantry units with ATGM's to practice drone evasion tactics and accurate combined arms assaults with infantry
@@eSimGamesDtlIt's not a problem - I just happened to find the noise to be particularly amusing. Either way, the amount of detail is simply incredible, so while I have you, here, for the moment, would it be okay if I asked as to the respective ranges of the main guns on The T-72B3, T-80, T-90M, Abrams (both The M1A1 & M1A2), Challenger 2, & Leopard 2? I just keep finding conflicting information, so yeah. Sorry about this.
The best place to look up such information is the Steel Beasts Wiki: www.steelbeasts.com/sbwiki/index.php/Main_Page#Technical_database I'm not entirely sure what you mean with "maximum range", different people understand different things when saying things like this. Technically, the danger zone of a 120mm DM33 APFSDS fired at 45° elevation from a Leopard 2 with L44 barrel is 130km. A DM73 fired from an L55 would easily fly beyond that limit. The practical ranges are, of course, considerably shorter. Are we talking about the tracer burnout range? Or the range limit at which an APFSDS will perforate a target frontally with 50% likelihood? Or the range limit that the fire control system will allow you in computer-assisted mode? Or the range limit of the fire control system? Or the range limit for a target of dimension X that would still be hit with 50% likelihood (irrespective of the damage that it might do)? Depending on what you're after, the answer will vary between 2.5 and 6...8km; most would probably settle for 4 or 5km as the typical engagement range limit imposed by the fire control system.
@@eSimGamesDtlTank you so much (sorry - bad joke), & my apologies for this late reply. I was more referring to the range of the main guns when used in typical tank engagements, so the angled numbers, while interesting, probably don't apply? Not sure. It looks like the numbers for everyone's modern apfsds rounds all top out at 4 km, though, per your link. Other than that, & I realize that this is going to be a completely random question, but if you guys are at all familiar with The T-55M6 (yes, I know that it was never put into production), if Russia were to implement those kinds of changes with their existing fleet of T-72s, how much would it cost to modify the turret in order to install an add-on ammunition storage compartment at the back of the, well, turret? I only ask as I guess that, at the time, the price of upgrading an older T-72 to The T-72B3 standard came out as somethin like 250K per tank, which is ridiculously cheap, but I know absolutely nothing about the potential costs of altering a turret. Does 100K sound reasonable, or is 50K more likely? I really have no idea.
The range question is interesting insofar as it changed a lot over the last thirty years while the underlying technology didn't change much - but the thinking did. Prior to Operation Desert Storm I was trained for engagement ranges between 1,200 and usually 2,500m. Experience during Desert Storm showed that not only was the gun accurately enough, also the ammunition was sufficiently powerful to routinely destroy T-72s frontally behind smaller sand berms at ranges of 3,500m, occasionally even at 3,800m. At the time, the ballistic computer would accept ranges only out to 4,000m (the laser range finder would give ranges out to 10km, but the ballistic computer would switch to battlesight range beyong the programmed max range). These combat results from Desert Storm in turn resulted in fire control system upgrades for some 120mm gun-equipped MBTs to accept firing solutions for extended ranges (usually five kilometers were the new cap; after all, you need to identify a target rather than shoot at any warm blob in the thermal imager). But there are certain tricks how an even longer range can still be made to work (if the target is static and can be identified). Tactical application is limited - but it's "not impossible".
It's mainly intended for 1080p. It's single threaded using dx9 and doesn't utilize the GPU much but is CPU bound. It's kind of like Combat Mission running on an old engine with low res graphics and UI but the gameplay is still good.
T72 now sounding lethal
Thanks! Great tutorial. My top wish for 4.3 right there :)
Question will you guys add more T-64 and T-80 version?
If and when the opportunity presents itself. Several factors need to come together.
Great video. Thanks for taking the time to put this together.Much appreciated.

Yes, with version 5.0; that's still a bit down the road, though.
