Saw them supporting Hoodoo Gurus at The Tote in 1983. Both great.
Ah, The Scientists - this was the stuff young music fans from the US west coast were getting on import in the 80s. It has been said that Kim Salmon was the first to use the term 'grunge' for his style of music.

I saw them... gladly... with Harram Scaram, I spit on your Gravy, Depression, The Birthday Party... Painters and Dockers... Strange Tennants... Cosmic Psychos... there was a LOT happening!...
Great to see. Unforgettable sound from back in the day. Always put on a great show with great atmosphere. Saw them many times - mostly around Camperdown and Glebe if I got that right. Hazy - to say the least.

new album on In The Red...Cobain missed these guys, but Mudhoney didnt. saw em in Philly a few years ago and they wouldnt be doing it if they still werent a legit band. people from all over the county came to see them display they were aging and, like the Cheater Slicks, creating their best stuff. bumped into Salmon later that night and what a great dude, get the new lp!
See how good live music can be on Television?? Why wasn't and why ISN'T there more of this? And oh yeah, the Scientists are awesome.
Fantastic, seen and heard, for the first time, in the early 80's at the Lyceum in London. They were stage supporters of the Sisters of Mercy. Night to remember

heard Kim Salmon's take 5 with Richard Kingsmill in 1994 on triple J in my final year of highschool and taped it . his number 1 was Spirit in the Sky and eye remember Hospital by Jonathan Richman . can't remember the rest . prolly got the tape still floating around unless someone pinched it 😊
The king of Grunge..
Grunge came straight out of sweaty Australian Pub Rock ... that's where and even still, nobody knows a thing about it. Seattle sound is Australian Pub Rock in the 80's! Switch a fucking brain cell on ... but the kids ain't got one to flick.

Cool, but it's a shame the sound cuts to 1 channel.
When does it do that? I hadn't noticed. I'm pretty sure it's from an old VCR recording but can check if it was in the recording or the transfer.
