We don't play with the audio technicas much as they don't sell spare drivers. I am not sure about the mic but you can probably mod a different mic into it. for the drivers, I would try modding the existing drivers. There are some ideas in the video in this link ua-cam.com/video/FiPm8SYn-og/v-deo.html
Thanks the the video Jason, really interesting. I bought these and loved them to bits, but the headband was way too big and I had to return them. Could they be adapted for a smaller fit or maybe the headband could be modifed or replaced? If so, I'd pick up another set in a heartbeat :)
it is not something I have tried but maybe you could stick a headband cover or some dekoni nuggets on them to raise them up on your head a bit if that is the issue. I doubt I will get a chance to try changing the headband but they look like it would be possible if you found on the right size on aliexpress or something.
I have been doing it professionally for 13 years but I have always pulled things apart to find out how they work ever since childhood. How i got into it... I had a job I hated and decided give it up and try to start my own business with only £2700 of savings. It was probably a terrible idea as it took many years before I made enough money to do anything but scrape by but I enjoy it. It is still pretty crazy to think that I started with less than £3000 and now we turn over over £300,000 a year. I still don't make any money as I spend any profits on more fun projects but if I liked money, I would have stuck to having a real job ;)
It's much better with the hybrid pads imo. With those not warm at all, flat bass response with good extension and just the right amount. The treble is a bit too much, but it's a compromise I'm fine with.
Have you checked behind the sofa cushions... I often find them stuffed down there. Or... if you are asking about these headphones... they are not wired so don't have a battery, the player powers them
great video. i am very interested in the Era-1 so its nice that your opinion on their build is good. are those connector sockets a "weak spot" i wonder? as you commented on the thin headband covering, can you remember if this is easily changed? have heard reviewers say the cable is not great, so if i do end up buying these i will add one of your cables 😉
I have one. Sockets are not weak points I think, I have no issue with them. The cable isn't flexible/soft enough imo. The headband covering is indeed thin and with time it will rip.
Hey Jason, is it possible upgrade the drivers in the AudioTechnica BPHS1? Or mod the mic from it to a better pair of headphones?

@@CustomCans Thanks bruv
i wonder if this is the most common cause of cut-out with Planners?
good vid & work as usual 👍👍
Yes - it probably is - there is not a lot other than the cable that could cause that

How long have you been fixing headphones? And how did you get into it?

@@CustomCans That's incredible man!
@@CustomCans Seriously, that's amazing. Good on you!
Nice. How do they sound?
I really liked the sound - nice and warm but detailed

Where is the battery?

Bad quality ear pads which peal off in times.
