      Thanks, LInda! It was a lot. but not even the whole amount of a gallon total of resin (I used the half gallon kit - that's a half gallon epoxy and a half gallon resin for one gallon total) I still had epoxy resin left to use from that kit!

    Love the piece, definitely a beautiful labor of love. But how do you feel about the Total Boat UV topcoat now that your table is complete?

    • @DryerDaysArTsTuDiO
      @DryerDaysArTsTuDiO  3 роки тому

      Thank you =) The UV topcoat gives a tiny bit of a different look. It's not 100% glass-like, but it is very shiny. With a resin top, I don't know what it is, but I am almost afraid to touch it or use it when it's fancy art like this. With that additional topcoat, I am not. I hope that makes sense 😂. It is VERY shiny still and everyone who has walked in and saw it sitting there has gone crazy about it. I would use it again for sure

    Did you drill all the way through to put the hair pin legs in? Love this. I’m working on a geode table right now as well, and am pondering how to install the legs.

    • @DryerDaysArTsTuDiO
      @DryerDaysArTsTuDiO  3 роки тому +2

      They didn't go all the way through, we did make sure the table was thick enough to take the screws. SOMETHING I didn't mention. Parts of this piece were clear as I mentioned and you could see where we drilled, in one instance it cracked the piece slightly and that penetrated to the top surface. I sanded it, clearing up the crack and then applied that UV Top Coat for the last time (with my gloved hand as I mentioned in the video) and that concealed it. You could also do a resin coat. It all blended in though! Just be gentle and mindful of that. Maybe not have the drill on top speed as someone here did 😅😂

    • @DryerDaysArTsTuDiO
      @DryerDaysArTsTuDiO  3 роки тому

      I would definitely use it again, but it would depend on the piece. I think it works well for the geode look. I mentioned in another comment that for me, sometimes I am almost "afraid" to put things on my resin trays, tables etc. Afraid I will scratch or ruin them. I'm not afraid with this coat if that makes sense 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣
