Mario's spam up airs definitely are just as annoying as Ike's nair spam, but I suppose if you're in a tournament... no, that won't work since both methods are used online also. Hahahaha! I feel as if I'm the only Ike main who doesn't do that. As useful as it may be, I don't like seeing my favorite character be used like that.
And Mario is especially a character that forces ike to spam nair because Mario has a really strong grab and safe aerials that all combo so ike can’t really utilize shield very well against Mario. It’s sad cuz people shit on ike when he’s literally forced to play this way cus of the mu.
Ryuga was also using tilts as well you can't afford to throw out random aerials as Ike because its easy to punish. Unlike Mario you aren't forgiven for that. Ike's Nair can easily be punished out of shield.
On a few characters like peach I've found it to be less primitive as like say with lucina,falcon,joker and ike,swordies and species tend to actually get a lot of usage off of wavelanding
I’m using with Byleth and it especially helps with juggling. Their jumps don’t go very high and far, but it saves you the double jump. It’s also an extra landing option.

Ike's counter is actual garbage. It's like frame 9. More than double the startup of a counter like Joker's. Basically the only time it's useful is to block certain recoveries.

I dont think so. They do the same things, but differently. Theres a certain art in being able to secure the nair thats shows good ikes from bad ikes.
You need to play Ike yourself to understand and appreciate how bad of a matchup this is for Ike and admire how Ike is even recovering here.
