Villager in SSB4 does so well against G&W, because he can't really approach against Villy's wall of projectiles. However, the simple change of making bucket reflect projectiles made the matchup a hundred times easier for G&W.
What if Kept had done side b more aggressively? It would have given him something more useful to pocket if Maister reflected it. At the very least force Maister into respecting the pressure
@@DerkerBluer He could pocket the bombs. I know this for a fact, and that would give him a pretty scary kill option honestly. Bomb does tons of shield damage and a doubled bomb would let him kill g&w at 50%. Maybe he just couldn't find an opening, but he could've done more.
this is also just a terrible matchup for Villager, bucket completely shuts down projectiles which is basically all of Villager's zoning options (f-air, b-air, side B, dash attack, down B when chopped down)
maplemusic52 a pocketed bomb is really easy for gnw to use bucket on because it falls so slowly, and it would fill his bucket really fast so probably not
villagers worst mu. no you cant 2 frame gnw with dair. bowling ball clanks. ledgetrapping is negated. bucket is there, but can be baited, which most villagers learnt to do. then aerials just clank with slingshots.
Feel bad for anybody that has to go up against Maister in pools.

pocketing gnw bombs would have been a better idea, that thing is strong
gnw can pressure better. maybe villy can pull off some punishes and win tradeoffs but gnw will always win more
