To say that the Poles are fans of the Polish song(s) would perhaps be an understatement ;D
They were invited to Poland by various clubs on various occasions (e.g. when they played a free concert on the anniversary of Polish independence). In addition, they received a quite interesting collection of thank you gifts from Polish dignitaries, including
      - from the archbishop of Gdańsk, an original officer's sabre
      - hand embossed gorge with a Polish eagle from the scouts in Wizna
      - Heraldry of the White Eagle by the Head of the Chancellery of the Polish President
      - Honorary citizenship of Zawady Municipality
      - ...
+ Great reaction as always! I enjoy your insight and your willingness to share the smaller details that catch your attention.

⭐ 'Woodstock in Poland', made this a huge deal. The Polish flag 🇵🇱 rolled out. After the song, the whole crowd sang their Polish Anthem. 💥 💞 AWESOME!!
The actual numbers were about 790 Polish soldiers versus 42,000 Germans, at the 1939 Polish invasion. The Poles held them back for 3 days. Amazing. My Dad 🤗 is a WW2 geek. I'm emailing him the video, as he was blown away with Sabaton's historic content.

Really recommend their official live video of En Livstid i Krig - live in Gothenburg. It is in swedish but I think that only adds to the song as everyone knows and sings the lyrics. It's about the harsh reality of a life of common soldiers during the Thirty-years War and in my opinion it captures that feeling perfectly. (If you decide to react definitely turn on subtitles)

You really should react to their live performance of "En livstid i krig" (A lifetime in war) in Gothenburg (Sweden). The song is about the personal struggle, loss and pain of the individual soldier from Sweden travelling down to Germany to fight in the 30-years war. The song is both tragic and beautiful, very powerful, and the fans are just incredible.
The band has english translated subtitles to put on.

I've heard conflicting reports of how many people were in the audience. Anywhere between 300,000 to 750,000 people. Sabaton is one of those few bands that's actually better Live than in studio. Not taking anything away from their albums, which are always outstanding, but Live they REALLY know how to work the crowd! I absolutely love first time reactions to Sabaton, especially 40:1! The incredible pace of the song matches the pace of those Poles fighting to hold the line at Wizna, it's just constant and furious! And the widening of people's eyes when they hear "less than 1000 Polish soldiers, over 40000 German soldiers, held them for THREE DAYS!" I love it!

Fun Fact: It was actually closer to 58 to 1. According to Wikipedia the Battle of Wizna (which the song is about) was 42,200 Germans to an estimated 720 Poles which comes out to 58.6 to 1.
Not so Fun Fact: The commander in charge of the Polish defenses told Polish High Command that he would never surrender. When the Polish troops finally ran out of ammunition he ordered them to surrender and then committed suicide.

I'm with you their Chase, before Covid I bought tickets to see Jinjer in LA and Queensryche and Scorpions in Vegas and I just left them open waiting for this shit to be over. Queensryche/Scorpions have a date of May 31st, we'll see if that holds.

The plan was for Poland to hold Germany for two weeks; France would invade Germany from the west, followed by Britain. France and Britain wussed out. Poland held for FOUR weeks even after the Soviets invaded on Sept. 17th.

If you see Tank’s videos he talks about the fender Stratocaster that Thobbe is playing. Thobbe has said that he likes the authentic sound of it.

I the crowd is fucking enormous, the estimate is somewhere around 750,000 spectators, yes that’s the right amount of zeroes, but it’s impossible to know exactly bc it’s a free open air festival.

This is partly the old lineup of the band. Liked the old band...like the new...music is still 100% hype :-) I'd reccomend checking out some of the songs from the latest album. Great war, 7 Pillars of Wisdom or the Red Baron are all nice!
For live: check out 7 Pillars live from Amsterdam! (I am somewhere on the front row there xD)
