its 2021 and this guy still helping rx8 owners with maintaining their cars what an absolute legend once I saved enough money im getting an rx8
There's still much to learn! Sadly i started 12 years too late, but at least the rx8 will have a proper ending once the time comes :)
@@Drivenbymadnessthank you ! I wouldn't of never bought a Rx8 if it wasn't for your channel. Great to see new content from you in 2021.
Get one!! Its one of the best Sports car values in the world. Your not going to find a better handling / driver focused car for the money. What Mazda was able to accomplish with its mechanical suspension, in modern times is revolutionary. Follow the steps in his videos, and your 8 will last ( keeping it simple) I LOVE MY 8 AND DAILY DRIVE.. NO ISSUES.
Finally, someone got his password back😏
he back lets go
Driven By Madness you are one of the main reasons I bought my RX-8. I have it for two weeks now and your channel already helped me with 3 typical issues :D Thanks for your hard work! Greetings from Poland :)
Even if it is only a video about a compression tester I am happy to see a new video of Driven by Madness again....
He returned and life will sparkle with bright colors again! Strongly welcome back, Bro! Flying Doritos will fly again! Brap! Brap! Brap! We've been WAITING SO LONG for this holiday!🥳🥳🥳
Eyyy! Welcome back! I knew something was missing from my subscriptions lol! Man, so much has happened to my RX-8 since your last video; it's getting turned into a track car; haven't driven it since November, hopefully will have it ready by September this year.
Glad to have you back, your channel has been so helpful as a new owner. When buying a rx8 a link to your channel should come with it
Dude you are back! I missed your channel so much!
Nice.
i bought a used engine and its average range is 8.4 and 8.3.
ive put about 700 miles on it right now. no longer have to wait an hour
to start it up again.
Welcome back!!!
Buy the real one by Steve Miracle, rotarycompressiontester. Not some knockoff product.
Glad to see you back!
Rotary compression tester looks feels and is built much better
It's good to see you back! And with the most perfect timing, I was thinking of getting myself a small compression tester for my 8!
As for many of us, thanks for the tips videos, helped a bunch for stupid things I was too afraid to do wrong :D
i bought an rx8 from a guy recently to find out it has 0 compression :)
That's some solid compression
Ha e had my 05 rx8 for months now. Finally got my tester in from Romania all the way to Canada.
The instructs say disconnect the ESS but you didn't do that. Does removing the fuel pump fuses complete the same task?
Love your videos as a new rx8 owner
Noticed you removed the leading spark plug, but my tester says to remove the trailing one, the top one. Does it matter? Also, my car still tried to start with both fuses removed. Should i consider removing the ignition fuse also? I'm referring to a 2009 btw
I definitely don't see it on the website for that model and that price !?
I was looking forward to your first video of the year man, thanks for the recommendation. Maybe I will get one for my 8!!!!!
I remember your engine having low compression a few years ago (when you used a 'normal' compression tester). Did you have it rebuild? Is it a new one from Mazda? Thanks
Good to see you're back. I bought an rx8 because of your videos.
Hi, nope still the same engine. It was rebuilt 50.000 back no problems so far. Awesome! So glad to hear that man, enjoy it!
@@Drivenbymadness Wow, those numbers after 50K. That's impressive.
So you had it rebuild after those first videos? I just checked it and it was 6.6-6.9.
You did a cold compression test, but what about hot? I think the best compression would be hot there would be more accurate.
When Thanos snapped his finger, Driven was in the time machine.
And a strong man came back, full of life and stamina... driven by madness also came behind him :P
😂😂😂
Hello again :D
Welcome back to the land of the living! Hope things have been good for you.
HES BACK WOOOOOO
Damn right i am!
@@Drivenbymadness good to hear, thinking about grabbing an rx8, your videos certainly helped about some questions I had. Keep uploading !
man your channel helped to convince me to get myself an rx8 glad to see your back.
hi, what is ur front bumper? i like it and wanna buy 1
Im scared to get a compression test on my rx8 ☠️☠️
Just what I was looking for thanks 🙏
Thanks for the video, I did see your older compression testing video few years back and your numbers were quite a bit lower then. Is this test done on different car or rebuilt engine?
Everything is the same, just different tester.
Just got my first RX8 & you are by far the best person I have come across. One thing I would love to see you do or maybe I have missed it, Is just a video of how to jack up the car and where exactly to put the jack stands. I want to refurb my wheels but need to put it on jack stands for a day or two.
jack the rear up on the diff and the front on the cross member on the cross member there is a large metal plate for your jack. jack stands should go on your frame rails and if you cant get it on the frame rails put a block of wood on your jackstands and use the pinch welds. just dont use the floor pan
hello how can i buy it ?
Good to see you back on here!
New video!! LESSSS GOOOOOO
Tested mine a month back too with this tester, had 6.8 front and 7.0 rear with 50k km since a rebuild :).
Ciao Christian , ben tornato!
First, there's a faster way to know your engine health, jut check the depression on warm engine at 1000 RPM, it should be around -0.55.
Secondly, anyway this tester is really good for the price, not as accurate as some others but still enough.
And last but not least, it's great to see you back bro
Could you elaborate on engine "depression" ?
@@mastersanwan vacuum probably, but vacuum is created on another part of the rotor housing compared to compression. While related, not exactly a useful measurement.
@@mastersanwan you get depression when you realise your compression is low.
Welcome back Chris! And congrats for the outstanding compression values, you won't need a rebuild for a very long time!
YOU'RE BACK! GLAD TO SEE YOU AGAIN BUDDY YOU'VE HELPED ME SO MUCH WITH MY RX8
Please come back my man. RX8 community needs you.
Ive been waiting for you to post a video for a long time good to have u back
What if the car don't start? What's the difference testing cold
hey welcome back
Thanks man :)
Where have you been?
Welcome back
Thanks Bruce!
Please tell me you did use a torque wrench for the tire after recording
Don't worry, it's not my first time taking off the tyre :)
Missed you
Thanks man, i missed you guys like crazy too!
ты русский?
Welcome back bro
Welcome back bro
Why such a big pause?
Major life changes
@@Drivenbymadness I hope everything is ok now, and you will start posting videos again. You are a big help with everything that you are posting.
He'ssss back!!!
Why disconnecting the fuel pump when it should be the Eccentric Shaft Sensor ? It's even written on the tester itself (Step #1)
Way easier to get to. As that sensor is damn difficult to release at the best of times hahha
I'm 29 year old and i wanted to finish the video before i turned 30. Disconnecting the fuse+ relay gets you the exact same result. The ESS is a BITCH to get loose
Great point.@@Drivenbymadness Are there any drawbacks to doing this method instead? Just wondering why all the Rotary Compression Testers wouldn't just make this Step 1 instead.
Thank you
I almost thought you gave up on this channel
Nah man, there's too much left to do ;)
I did mine and both tests were below 5.0bar and it hasn’t given me any issues lol
If you have no issues that's good, just remember that when you'll have hot start issues or even worse cold start, it could be a rebuild call :)
@@Drivenbymadness yeah I finally got myself a Rx8 👍🏻 no hot start or cold start issues, I expected my compression numbers to be higher, no hesitations on acceleration either.
Can you explain why you didn't unplug the ESS ?
Sure, cause i removed the fuses, which gives the equivalent result.
@@Drivenbymadness Thanks I enjoy your videos and passion for all things Rotary
Pog
Welcome back btw I just found your channel like a few days ago
@@Star_SNG Awesome! Glad you enjoyed man :)
They're sold out lol.
You can still order them and wait for production
Where did this dude disappear to man
In a land far away, but now he found he's way back thanks to flex seal!
@@Drivenbymadness hahaha keep making rx8 videos! youre one of the reasons why i have my rx8 man
Where have u been man!?
Major life changes set me back quite a bit
@@Drivenbymadness good luck with all your doin
