Rheinhardt Harrison (FL-2022) ran a 4;01.35 as a sophomore and took a last chance meet in June of his senior year to break 4 minutes (3;59.33). So, hopefully not, but some of these kids are peaked and won't get much if any faster.
Really impressive run by Griffin. He looked remarkably fresh after the race. Middle distance running has SO much promise with this crop of talented 17-20 year olds!
I meet drew during my pa state meet in xc and what a great guy I’m so happy to see him doing well and can’t wait for his college appearance gl to you drew hope for the best in the future
So impressive. When you think that this is almost two seconds faster than Roger Bannister ran in May 1954 for the first four minutes mile...you realise that, if high-schoolers can now run quicker, then we have advanced significantly as a species in a very short time.
I haven't been able to watch the entirety of the California post-season yet but pretty sure he was running in the CA State Meet last weekend as this meet was happening
@@DylpiqkleSTier did you see the pacing? 2:35 through 1k and dybdahl closed the last 600 In 58 second pace to run 4:03. Also he is a 1:50 800m runner. He can break 4 if he’s in this race
Drew just seems to never be tired.
@@ztime7312 dude must train extremely hard
I did a sub 4 quarter mile back in 98.
Legend status
Nobody seems to be talking about Caden Leonard, a sophomore, running 4:04

Because he’s seventeen years old
@@wayneegli8379 some of my senior friends had to race him in XC

Tremendous effort. What a great event.

Race starts at 3:58
Let’s go James Partlow, way to represent MD! I ran against him at states last week (I got cooked though)
Good for him!
Where the heck is Evan Noonan he is the CA state 3200 champ and he is a junior
He just got home from his part time job scooping ice cream

W race
Didn't HOKA's Festival of Miles, 2023, include four sub-4 minute miles?
That’s the second PA sub 4. Can someone let me know if any other states can match that?
Cali could if Andreas and Anthony were in the best section
@@FoamyDragonthey weren’t even close 😭

California, Michigan and Virginia also have 2 sub-4:00 high schoolers on the all-time list.
@@runnerspace are you counting Alan Webb for both Virginia and Michigan?
super shoes
nathan neil goes 3:59, very impressive, especially because he is only a sixth grader!
He's a high school senior
... it's a joke
3:59 in 6th grade? I was running a 3:41 flat but it doesn’t count as a wr because that was actually in time trial while I was in crutches
He ran off the track on the curve. He was well inside the cones on the grass for a couple steps. What's the legality on that?
@@themyriad0574 IDK but i thought for sure he would run in the 2nd lane a few strides to offset the 4 inches he stole.
Shively missed going under 4:00 by .03!!
Yeah that has to be hard to be that close
He's going to NAU, he's going to become a monster. He will go under very quickly.
