While I'm really excited to go to Korea soon using public transportation makes me really anxious so thank you for walking us through how to do all the steps :) I feel a lot better now!
I arrived in Korea a few days ago and had no clue how to use the public transportation. This video explained things so well I feel like I can be a pro on the first trip, and its great to see that the bus and subways have wifi, because I do not have a sim card or a wifi egg lol.
ua-cam.com/users/shortse2EbZySmKZY?si=JZ1kuyB4Y-w_7-Oy - it is the special edition Kuromi TMoney keychain and is super popular in Korea right now so it might take you a bit to locate one =) Thank you for watching =)
Fun fact: the older subway lines in Seoul were built by the Japanese, so they drive on left (same for all trains in SK). The newer ones drive on right! That’s how you get lost downtown…
Hey Steve, thanks for the informative video. We'll be in Seoul for a cruise from Incheon International cruise terminal to Japan. Do you have any suggestions on what transportation to use from Seoul station to cruise terminal? Thanks
When you entered the station and stood before a mirror I saw that you had your cellphone tucked under your arm and was filming with some kind of a "stick". Is it a small camera? Your video is professionally good and the footage stabil so it must be a good camera. I stumbled across your channel today and was pleasantly surprised. In the future I plan to visit all the countries you have in your videos so this is such a great help. By the way, you´re welcome to my beautiful country Sweden and a room for free in my home in Stockholm , the capital, as hotels can be rather expensive. Keep up the good work!
I tried the subway. It was a transfer ride. The first part went great but I somehow managed to get off too early on the transfer and ended up on a 30 minute walk lol Not sure what I did. Also, rush hour was starting and I barely managed to get off before the doors shut. I advise avoiding peak times for sure! I have heard the bus is a little easier.
Hi, thank you for this very useful video. We are set to go to Seoul this November. I am the unwilling😅 navigator in the family. May I know if we can just stick with t-money alone to go around Korea via subways and bus? One more is, can we refund the cost of the t-money card before we leave Korea back in our home country?
Thanks for the video.. Very helpful as I am about to spend a month in South Korea in October coming soon.. Just a quick question though.. What's the best way to find out about trains or buses which go from Seoul let's say to other cites such as Iksan or Busan for example.. And what would be a good choice for a sim card to get at the airport? Thanks very much
On the subway platform yellow line, just before you step on the train, there’s a number on the floor, like 2-4, which is also shown on Naver Map I believe, what does it mean?
Hi thanks for the comment and for watching! Yes, it is possible. You choose the area you want, I believe up to 2km radius is the max, and it will download all the map tiles for that area. You won't be able to search though, just browse and zoom through the imagery and of course locate yourself via GPS. I use this sometimes when I go hiking so I can leave my phone in airplane mode to save battery. It will also automatically update the area you downloaded (if there's any changes) when you're on Wifi. It's right there in the main Naver Map menu under 다운로드. Dont forget to subscribe if not already =)
Can you buy the wow pass card in the airport? if you preload/buy the card from the app do you still need a physical card? do 5 year olds need to T-cards oe is transportation free for them? does each adult need a card as well? thanks!
We use Google Maps both in Busan and Seoul for public transport, and it just works. But car navigation is still unsupported: we look up places in Maps and copy paste the (Korean) names in Naver.
i have a question in the bus there was 702A, 705, 702B so when i get on 702A and will it drop to my destination direct or after 702A i have to go to 705 and then to 702B or if not then are these 3 bus numbers for choosing one bus to reach the destination?
the keychain is very high in demand so you may not be able to locate one at the airport (though you can try the convenience stores at the airport first) I went to about 40 convenience stores before I found one =)
Lol changing trains at seoul reminds me of changing trains in China. You walk half the length of the city just to transfer lol. Great video just back from busan and thankfully metro alot easier than Seoul.
Fantastic video!!!! i have a question about travelling from Incheon to Seoul station late at night. Should my flight be severely delayed to close to midnight, what options do I have to get to Seoul from the airport at such a late time of night? Thanks

1:21 Oh, this was the state of the lines that I had often seen in subway stations until I was very young. I think it was probably 20 years ago
Thank you for the helpful video! Where did you get the kuromi keychain t-money card?!?!! That’s so cool! I’ve never seen that before 😱

Good trivia!!
Hey Steve, thanks for the informative video.
We'll be in Seoul for a cruise from Incheon International cruise terminal to Japan.
Do you have any suggestions on what transportation to use from Seoul station to cruise terminal?

The cheaper ways would be to get a subway or bus
Faster would be to get a cab

With Naver Maps, is it possible to download maps like with Google Maps, to consult the map even without a network connection ?
Hi thanks for the comment and for watching!

Yes you can purchase wowpass at the airport I covered it in my WOWPASS video =) - ua-cam.com/video/9J0BPyAGZOY/v-deo.htmlsi=9FzR_p31i4nj8bjS

Can you confirm also google drive, google sheet works in Korea as my itineraries are documented there.
What's the card that can be used for both transport and debit card?
Sounds like youre talking about a WOWPass =) Heres a little update on it I did recently -

hi! can i bring luggage onto a korean city bus like the blue or green buses or is that frowned upon?
you can but if that is the case try to avoid peak hour travels
steve
quick question, can we get that keychain tmoney card from incheon airport?
the keychain is very high in demand so you may not be able to locate one at the airport (though you can try the convenience stores at the airport first)
I went to about 40 convenience stores before I found one =)
@PhatLifeProject ok thank you 😊

Thank you for watching! I still need to go to Busan! Also after Tokyo this was actually relatively simpler lol
My Naver Account got locked because of suspicious network. Is it because I’m still in US ?
best check this with Naver support, thats a new one
can you tell me why did you paid twice on the bus?
Huh?
@@PhatLifeProject got it no problem
Can we buy the t money card in Incheon airport and reload there at the same time? Thanks

There is also convenience stores at the Incheon airport arrivals as well
