@27:05. I think the word you are looking for is fair. In shipbuilding, "fair" means to smooth out or adjust the lines of a hull by removing irregularities, ensuring a smooth and even surface across the entire structure.
@@richardsmith4147 well welcome then. 😃 I used contact cement for the metal parts for the stern and the bow. The pieces are relative heavy and I wasn’t sure that CA would hold the pieces. I prepared the pieces with a sanding paper so that the glue had a grip. Hope you enjoy my videos. 👌🫡
@ thank you, I have been looking for something that holds metal part well. CA doesn’t always do the trick. I’m guessing that is just wood putty on the hull? Great work so far!
@richardsmith4147 you can also use epoxy for metal parts, or 2 component. I just only had contact cement. 😁 Yea I skipped the second layer of planking and smothered the entire hull in putty. There’s probably about 110 hours in the hull by now. So it’s a slow progress. 😊
@@brianeade861 cheers mate 👌 I’ve spent 125 hours so far, give or take. Probably spent 100 of those on the hull. According to Occre there’s 1400 hours in the ship in total. So not gonna be done any time soon. 😅😅
Chile, the land of good wine and beef. 👌 Tamiya putty would be too expensive to use, as the hull needed a lot of it. I used some from the hardware store however the Occre putty is superb and I should have used that to begin with. Highly recommended if you can get it. 👌 The ship is a kit from Occre. There’s a link in my description that takes you straight to USS Missouri on Occre web page. I use different glue throughout the build. The next video you’ll see me use PVA which I normally use. However because the deck of the ship was so big I opted to use contact glue as it was much faster to plank that way. I hope you enjoy the build and thank you for watching. 🙌🫡
@sergioespinosa6377 my wife travelled around in South America, she said the meat is better in Argentina, she said something about going across the border, to get the beef from Argentina. 😅 Yes, it is somewhat expensive, but you also get 1400 hours of build time, it was on sale for Black Friday 😁 I have never done paper models, don’t know how to do that. Excellent travail❤

@ didn’t know that there was a word for that, cheers mate. 🫡😃
@@TheBurningSail No worries mate. Putty, sand, prime, putty, sand, prime = fairing the hull.
I’m new to your channel. What is the cement you are using in the can?

What kind of wood filler is that?
@@rwe2156 putty from Occre.
I also use a fine coarse putty from the hardware store, but I would rather use the occre putty, it’s much better. 👌🫡
