Awesome job and great looking door. I used this video to make my door as well. I had to custom my door because my opening was 21" wider, so I added the length to my 1X10's and 1X6 header and footer. You gave me the confidence to attempt the build, you made it look super easy. The hardest part for me was getting up and down on the floor. I'm not as young as you, or your project manager. Thanks again
AMEI! Muito fácil e bonito o seu TRABALHO... PARABÉNS
I like how this could go with modern or farmhouse styles and it wouldn't look odd in a newer home
Loved it! Can you guys build a corner storage cabinet (pantry)? I need more space for groceries.
I'm so happy I found your channel!!!!! I have never made anything and wanted to start trying. You're videos are so easy to follow! Thank you for sharing!
Awesome, good luck with your first project!
Luv, your work, especially your doggy
Bravi bravi bravi!!!!! Sempre così semplici ma veramente belle!!!!!
Perfect! Using this as my template! Thanks so much!!
remodeling our bathroom and will be building a barn door for the towel storage closet , thank you for another design for one
Love it. I like the back as the front 🤷🏽♀️
I love all of their projects. I plan to do one every month! DIY furniture made easy, looks beautiful, and easily understood. I also like the way the videos are done. I'm with a few people on not liking people talking the whole way through and the directions are very simple to follow. Thanks for all the projects and keep them coming!
Thanks for watching and good luck with all of the builds!
Great job! You make it look so easy.
Great build as always
The perfect camp door!.
Thank you for not talking for 30 mins and showing us how easy it is
Absolutely love it!!!
So easy and awesome, going to build it next week for a little project. Way better than a pocket door... so happy, thanks!
Yay!
This was great , just built mine and love them! Thank you
Really cool work .simple ,easy but nice
I'm so excited to try this! I'll be getting the wood soon!
Did you build the barn doors. I want to build them as well
Very, very cool!
Thanks for sharing with us a practical project we can all learn and do!
Definitely, thanks for watching!
Excellent. I have so much wood laying around my deck and house I can't wait to build a few things this summer from your channel. I love the bathroom rack that has shelves and a towel holder. If people are resourceful, they could do a lot of your projects for almost free. Old wood is everywhere, just gotta know where to look.
Another great video! I enjoy your channel very much. I’ve made the coffee table, not the Rustic one but it came out great. I just bought the wood to make the Rustic Barn Door. Thank you so much for all of your videos. They are *really easy to follow* the way you type the instructions on the screen. Good luck and I look forward to many more videos!
That's great! Thanks so much for watching...
Man this is awesome I’m doing this this week
Good job looks awsome
So glad you guys changed the background song for the video! lol
Great idea, you will be playing peek a boo through the gaps in the boards though when it shrinks. I would add a piece of 1/4" luann plywood between the surrounding 1x6. Other than that its a great idea.
Thank you!
How wonderful and easy you made that.
Thank you for your video.
Love your project manager! This could save me $200 on a door.
I always love your videos. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Very good design!
Great job.. keep posting and pushing.
Thanks!
Cute your dog loved, thanks for the video.
Just purchased all the materials from Lowe’s minus stain and glue $104.00.... hanging door hardware $60 off amazon.
Wow! Definitely not 40
Again a really nice video thanks👌
Nice, I'll be following this video while making my first door. Thank you
Good luck with the build!
Thanks for sharing 🙌🏿
reat job! i love the colour. if i already have a 3/4" plyboard lying around. can i still make this barn door?
Hi loved your video on building a sliding door and totally love the design. Question, there is no diagonal support. Will your design stay straight? I want to build your door tomorrow.
Hey I have a few questions about your 4 years ago barn door project, which I love.
I love watching you guys can you do a video on a bench with a high back almost like a sette to go with your 50$ table I just recently completed
Great door, well done! I may be making a video of this build, ill make sure to give you both credit!
I’d flip it around...what your calling the back makes for a far more interesting and attractive front for the door!
I have been thinking of buying a sliding door from the big box stores, the the $275 price keeps me from spending that much. I love this plan, very simple and inexpensive.
Genious! Thank you
Awesome video! Really helped me to create one
Thanks for watching!
I made sure I added that to my library list because my wife loves the barn doors. Appreciate how you added where to get the hardware from Amazon at a good price. That was GREAT! I also have to make a smaller set of barn doors to hide our tv's. Thanks.
Nice done good job
I want this door!
This is why i love your videos! That was awesome!
I’m planing to do around my porch any idea what kind of paint (water proof) to use.
Good job 👏
You should be fine with exterior paint, you can also use cedar or treated wood...
Great job, got to do mine! But, let me ask you why cutting inside, and with out the dust collector?!
I love it! Good job!
Thanks!
It was 40 bucks in out area but it came out great. Thank you for sharing.
Damn, that was easy! 👍
Bravissimo
Lo farò poi ti mando un foto ,il tuo lavoro semplice e chiaro
😀 Easy to follow video. Thanks 😁
Wow! It was excellent. really enjoyed👌👍👍👍
LOVE IT!!!
Love this!
Thanks!
What handle you used? it looks much longer than 12". great work.
Love this 'modern look' barn door, I'd like to make one for my home office to get more privacy. Can you let me know the paint code and brand. I actually like that color and it will go great with the color I already have in the room that I'd like to hang it in. Thank you
Great Stuff Guys! So A-DOOR-able! Ha! I see what you did there...
Puns are the best!
Los felicito a ambos
Hey, love the videos. Thank you for all the good ideas. Did you prime the door before you painted it or is that not necessary? Thanks.
By priming you mean multiple coats of paint. Bare wood is almost always going to need more than one coat due to partial absorption of the first coat. One coat of paint would have dull spots with no sheen where the paint soaks into the wood.
Thank you
Great video, thanks. I need 84" height, so how would you go about gaining that extra 3/4 inch? Add 3/4" trim/strip to top or bottom? or split it and add to both? Thx
Did you do this? I need 30x84
Excellent! What type of wood did you use for this? I want to make these! Just not sure of the best material to use...
We typically use standard pine boards. Thanks for watching!
Great video. I love these. I am going to make my own. I am a bit puzzled though. How did you get the length 84" with 9 10" wide boards and 1 1/2" thick with 2 1" boards. Thanks.
The actual width of a 10" board is 9 1/4" and the actual depth of a 1" board is 3/4".
haha i'm glad someone already asked this question! i was so confused
Lack of imagination and creativity even for a low budget!
I like your door. I'm thinking of making one between my bedroom and bath. I have a large opening 48 inches. Do you think my door will warp? What type of wood do you recommend for a door that wide?? Help
Thanks
Perfeito!👊
Looove! More videos please!!!!
Thanks! More are definitely coming!
Love this. Do you have a link for that specific handle? I love it.. Cant see to find it. Thanks so much
Thanks! We actually just found this handle in the bargain bin at our hardware store but I believe Amazon has some large handles like this?
Hola esta misma puerta sive para ponerle visagras q quede para abrirla y no d corredera ? D Chile gracias bendiciones
AMEI TUDO BEM EXPLICADO O PASSO A PASSO. OBRIGADO
How did you get the shiplap look, I thought the boards are close together but the finished door shows gaps between them.
I have seen you make tables I was wondering if you had a visit video or thoughts n making a plant runner style table out of bamboo flooring from Lowe's or home depot.
We don't have a video like that as of yet. You could try using our $15 15 minute bench video and attach the bamboo flooring to that?
U are the best
What type of wood did you use for this project?
Vou fazer a.minha muito bonita legal gostei simples e mais barato
Could you make a cabinet for a tv lift?
I’m excited to get this project started! Ive purchased the smaller items i.e. wood glue, screws, etc. I love the idea of being able to customize with paint or stain, hardware, etc. pardon me but but by no means am I a carpenter. These measurements are to clear a standard height doorway right? Any chance you could help a brother out with measurements to clear a 90 inch doorway with no trim?
Adding another horizontal 1"x10" will give you a height of 92 1/2". Just make sure your vertical pieces are now 92 1/2" instead of 83 1/4" and you'll be good to go! Good luck with the build!
The Rehab Life Thank so much for replying! Didn’t think I’d actually get a response. Lol I’ll keep you posted on he outcome
Hola como hacer una puerta sencilla con vidrio x lo menos la part d arriba d la puerta xfis gracias son super tus puertas aprendo mucho d CHILE bendiciones para tu perrito tambien
Greattttt
Hey. Beginner here lol. What would be the cut out measurement for 82in x 38w?
How much does the door weigh? I’m wanting to do a double barn door. The tracks are weight specific so this would be very helpful with just estimating how much one is before building.
Rough estimate around 50lbs? Kind of a guess though...
Weigh yourself, then weigh yourself holding the door. Lol
I have a door opening where the max height barn door could be is 71” to fit track. Was thinking of just using 7 of the 1x10 (64.75) and 1 x 6 at the end. Would you split the 1.6 in half for the top and bottom for aesthetics/balance or would it not matter?
Splitting it in half would probably look better for aesthetics.
Well, it was a great project if used as a tutorial, but certainly not $40. I spent about $70 on basic pine without the rolling hardware. But somethings you might want to know. I would use 1 1/4 inch trim screws. The 1 1/2 inch screws came through the other side. But lots of fun and looks great. Thanks.
The cost of wood can vary in different areas, we made ours for $40 but the price can certainly increase in other parts of the country. The video also specifies 1 1/4" trim head screws in the materials list so the they don't come through the other side. Thanks for watching and glad it turned out great!
@@TheRehabLife Thanks again. I love my new doors
No f#%@ing clamps! I love u!
Can a nailgun do the same work as these screws?
This is now a $100 door, just priced it at Menards. And that was using standard grade pine
First it was the $60 door now a$40 door where do you buy the lumber from?
Awsom sir
Do you need kiln dried wood? Or will regular wood do?
The wood we get is usually from Home Depot or Menards and is kiln dried
Only thing I would have done differently was add a 1x4 on the edges in the front but thanks this looks great
What did you do to prevent it from swinging on the bottom when you open or shut it?
There's hardware for this that you can add.
You’re dimensions suggest 1.5 inch depth but you use two 1inch pieces around the edge making it 2 inch depth. Do you have hardware that can support 2 inch depth; most use 1.25 to 1.75 in depth. Also your dimensions suggest 83.25 height but you use 9 10 inch boards making it 90 inches tall. Does it turn out ok by cutting two boards near the base and top to shorten door?
The actual depth of a 1" board is 3/4" so the total depth will be 1.5". The actual width of a 10" board is 9 1/4" so the height will turn out to 83 1/4" using nine pieces so you should be good with standard door hardware!
We're looking at a house with a barn door on the bathroom, beautiful natural wood but we want to relocate to the kitchen/living room. Do you have any expert advice on how to restore the bathroom wall above the lintel after relocating the door? Thank you!
It's hard to tell without seeing what you're dealing with but it could be as simple as some drywall repair with patching and painting.
The Rehab Life Fantastic news! Thank you!
How thick is the finished door?
The dog tho!😂
