As a teenager I dreamed of building the Millenium Falcon and exploring a galaxy far far away... Either the Falcon or the Outrider... As an adult I realize now that only part of the reason was genuine. The other part was me wanting to escape the life I had at home. Le sigh.
In "Legends" canon the Falcon was one of the fastest and agile ships in the Rebel fleet, surpassed only by A-Wings (at least by the time of ROTJ). I think that's more of the draw for me: not only is it big enough to be a home base, it's a sleeper vehicle that run rings around unsuspecting challengers.
@@GhostScout42 I made sure to put a lot of qualifiers in my initial statement. It's definitely faster and more agile in real space than a standard YT-1300.
New subscriber, got your red dwarf upload as a recommendation and I've gotta say I'm hooked already. So going back to your first upload and work my way through to get up to speed. 👍👍
I've always loved that exchange; Leia: Would it help if I got out and pushed Han: It Might! Doesn't completely dismiss the idea, takes a second to comprehend what she said, and regardless that it was sarcasm on her end, that "it might" sounded like he truly meant "if it's the only option available might as well give it a try!"
Note, the yt1300f makes one hell of a gunship. Put the cockpit in the center, beef up the engine and generators, add quad laser turrets on the sides, where the escape pods used to be, a pair of automatic repeating heavy blasters for tail guns, forward quad laser cannons and a missile/ torpedo launcher operated by a modified tactical droid. Nasty business, and can be efficiently operated by a crew of 6 or 7, and a couple of droids. And if worse comes to worst, you can overload the reactor and blow a super star destroyer to bits.
Of course he shot first. Rule one of a gun fight: don't bring an idiot to a gun fight. If the opponent has his gun out, he is fair game. (and dead men tell no tales... ask any cop.)
Personally while the falcon isn't my favorite ship in Star wars i do love it. The idea that it's a huge engine for moving gigantic cargo containers not with out the containers it's fast as all hell. After all the then linium falcon in sublight is as fast if not faster than X-Wing and that's pretty freaking fast for a cargoship
That Spaceballs ship surprised me a bit, but wonderfull video. It's really neat and nice to watch. Now I'm questioning: what hyperdrive does the spacecamper from Spaceballs have?
Came across this vid by accident. Ot a UA-cam algorithm. Whatever. Anyway, great vid, I'm going back and checking out your other stuff, and you have a new subscriber, just be ause if this vid alone. Keep up the great work!!
The Falcon, as well as imitation ships like Serenity, offer something. They offer a home, and freedom to roam. They offer possibility and adventure, a chance to explore, to go places that others don't, all in a relatively small and snug package that has oodles of character. Spaceballs nailed it with the mobile-home idea, because that's what the Falcon is. They cut right to the heart of what matters. She wasn't sleek or shiny, she wasn't pimped out to make her beautiful, but she was functional, quirky, and comfortable. She was special. She was unique. She was escapism in the form of a spaceship, and that made her beautiful.
You absolutely nailed it matey. For me, it isn’t about the lasers, it isn’t about the navigation computer - it’s what the Falcon represents that we’re all drawn to - almost half a century after we first saw it!
How valuable was the contraband cargo that you could hid enough of it in such a small space? Would it not be easier to hid it in some of the huge cargo ships like they do here on earth?
I have only watched the three proper star wars films, I don't really go in for all the rest of the stuff churning out. But I do enjoy the lore about the computer. That smart ass droid with its woke agenda would never live a day. Cp3p0 gets blasted to pieces for being very polite. I doubt giving back chat would be great for droids. R2d2 has total respect from everyone for his abilities in the course of action. He does not need to bitch about equal rights. He just does what he wants, keeps secrets , unlocks doors, hacks computers. While seeming to be a little obedient servant.
How dare you call the YT1300 boring sir! CEC made a masterpiece! It's not their fault that Han has no time for hobbies and good food! I suppose he doesn't get around to that sort of thing because he's busy snogging princesses and the ship is so fast that he's in port already before he needs to play solitaire.
@@spacedoutgame yeah I was gonna say I love these types of videos to fall asleep too, so I could dream about it hopefully. And if you could add more space like whimsical sci-fi, music would be cool. research is hard to listen to with lord royalty free UA-cam ad sounding music. Doesn’t fit whatsoever. Thanks though for making videos like these I’ve always wanted to watch stuff like this like life aboard aspace vessel
A had a friend who put a corvette engine in his pos station wagon.
By the time you noticed the excessively wide rear tires, he was gone. 😝

its not agile, its exceeds at speed in hyper space not real space

Thank you so much! That means a lot!

I read on a website on the Millennium Falcon and it said with those droid brains in it's computer systems have a habit of arguing with itself.
I always figured “A most peculiar dialect” translated to football hooligan level swearing

Millennium Falcon, made in Milford Haven, West Wales
Nice video.
You need to do one on Serenity from Firefly.

There are several contenders but the Falcon is the GOAT. The end.
2:40 push cargo? It's more efficient to pull and easier to control movement. Funny they went the opposite direction.
Galactica, the Orville, & Serenity?
Solo shot first.

Same type of cargo that requires a pick up truck with reattached body panels and a nonfunctional spare tyre...
Drugs brother...😂
L3 ....
I am happy i have not watched the new movies and content, it is so bad, even discuating.
Love how you first call it the "Billenium Falcon"
Otherwise, what a great video

Do life aboard the Tardiss
Enjoyed the explanation but criminal how Disney has diluted and murdered a once great set of films (not including Rogue one)
That you're mad someone wants equal rights and isn't happy with servitude says more about you than it does about the character, dude. Not a good look.
You can dislike things without disagreeing with their principles. Especially when they seem to be a parody of what they represent.
When your toaster wants equal rights you got bigger problems.
Am I supposed to watch a video or start dancing ? Wrong kind of music and too loud.
