- After putting a bit of time into it, I really think the scout heli might be the best vehicle in the game. Such a fun thing to fly once you get the hang of it. In this video I try my best to explain the things that helped me the most early on.

Battlefield 4 is a first-person shooter video game developed by video game developer EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts. It is a sequel to 2011's Battlefield 3 and was released in October 2013 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360; then later in November for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Battlefield 4 was met with positive reception. It was praised for its multiplayer mode, gameplay and graphics, but was also criticized for its short and shallow single-player campaign mode, and for its numerous bugs and glitches in the multiplayer. It was a commercial success
Battlefield 4's multiplayer contains three playable factions-the United States, China, and Russia-fighting against each other, in up to 64-player matches on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One (24-Player on Xbox 360 and PS3). A newly reintroduced "Commander Mode", last seen in Battlefield 2142, gives one player on each team a real-time strategy-like view of the entire map and the ability to give orders to teammates. Also, the Commander can observe the battle through the eyes of the players on the battlefield, deploying vehicle and weapon drops to "keep the war machinery going", and order in missile strikes on hostile targets.[7][8] A spectator mode is included, enabling players to spectate others in first or third person, as well as use a free camera to pan around the map from any angle.
On June 10, 2013, at E3, DICE featured the map "Siege of Shanghai", pitting the People's Liberation Army against the U.S. Marine Corps. The gameplay showcased Commander Mode; new weapons and vehicles; and the "Levolution" gameplay mechanic. The video displays the last of these at various points, including: a player destroying a support pillar to trap an enemy tank above it; and a large skyscraper (with an in-game objective on the top floor) collapsing in the center of the map, kicking up a massive dust cloud throughout the map and bringing the objective closer to ground level.[9] Levolution also includes effects such as shooting a fire extinguisher to fill the room with obscuring clouds, car alarms going off when stepped on, metal detectors going off once passed through, or cutting the power in a room to reduce others' visibility.[9][10]
The maps included in the main game are "Siege of Shanghai", "Paracel Storm", "Zavod 311", "Lancang Dam", "Flood Zone", "Rogue Transmission", "Hainan Resort", "Dawnbreaker", "Operation Locker" and "Golmud Railway".[11][12] The game modes on offer include Battlefield's Conquest, Domination and Rush; while adding two new game modes called Obliteration and Defuse, along with traditional game modes such as Team Deathmatch and Squad Deathmatch.[12][13]
The four kits from Battlefield 3 are present in Battlefield 4 with minor tweaks. The Assault kit must now wait for the defibrillator to recharge after reviving teammates in quick succession. The Engineer kit uses PDWs, and carbines are available to all kits. The support kit has access to the new remote mortar and the XM25 allowing for indirect suppressive fire. The Recon kit is now more mobile and is able to equip carbines, designated marksman rifles (DMRs), and C4. Sniping mechanics also give with the ability to zero in your sights (set an aiming distance), and equip more optics and accessories than previous Battlefield games. The Recon kit is still able to utilize the MAV, T-UGS, and the Radio Beacon.[14][15][16][17]
New vehicles have also been introduced. With the addition of the Chinese faction, new vehicles include the Type 99 MBT, the ZFB-05 armored car, and the Z-10W attack helicopter. Jets have also been rebalanced and put into two classes, "attack" and "stealth". The attack jets focus is mainly air-to-ground capabilities, while stealth jets focus mainly on air-to-air combat.

2023 here and I still loving it but i dont play this game since 2018 later.. but when I stopped I was +2000 hours already played..
back when bf4 was still the main battlefield game, i learned flying helicopters in a no kill server, just transporting people around and chilling with people, talking
id spend hours going back and forth, doing increasingly faster and trickier landings. which made me really good at controlling the scout heli (and even the transport heli)
that’s actually really cool!!
The transport chopper was so under utilized, but was a lot of fun if you had teammates who would repair, and you could get gunners a ton of kills.

Vehicles are for smooth brains go knife only it’s much more fun. If u want it easy use motion sensors and smoke on recon or smoke grenade launcher in assault

Shooting down the trees at their base on Zavad in an empty server helped hone my aim while moving. The map looks weird without any trees though lol
The most difficult part of mastering the scout heli is actually try to get to fly it smh
Before bf4, I just played bf2 when I was a kid and never played bf again cause CoD was making games like black ops and modern warfare... after a long time spent on cs go and other popular games of their times ( especially sp open world games like witcher, skyrim, tr...) I got bf4 with Amazon and I figured out I know how to pilot choppers cause it's just like bf2 mechanics. And it's really simple, if you don't try to turn with your aim, you will be ok. Turn with movement controls and use aim controls for forward and backward. Use buildings for cover and don't fly low in open maps cause tanks, tv missiles and tow missiles will be waiting for you.

Pro tip: If an enemy heli is close to you and above you, fly directly below it so that it can't aim at you. 99% of the time, they will try to chase you by dropping altitude, too, but they'll have to take precious seconds to turn around at you again, by which point you've already aimed at them first. The same concept works against enemy helis below, but that's fairly rare, most helis attack from above. I'm sure there's some name to this maneuver taught in a real life military pilot school.

@silk two really cool tricks to the scout heli. Be support and throw an ammo box on top, your engineer can use flair or extinguisher and you can seat swap but because of the ammo box they get unlimited rockets. Makes it more fun for the guy repairing you

i loved the scout heli in both bf4 and hardline, one of my favourite vehicles in all of battlefield.
My current goal in bf4 is to work on aim, and I’m already seeing a significant improvement, but after that my priority will be to learn vehicles, so thanks for playing bf4 and showing us how to do it!

you wingman can use extinguisher and swap sits and use it, it's useful in open maps if they can lock you (works best with attack heli)

A good team mate repairing you like fuzzyDICE does in this clip, can really help you play more aggressively and helps a lot.
2 engineer mates that can shoot out pilots is even better. A good pilot that can line up jets is crazy fun. Only in BF. I fear that they'll make it harder in BF6 for the casual gamers though. Best feeling of all time in a helicopter is shooting out the enemy pilot and jumping out and taking their copter on Flood Zone or Resort. Then the other team just furious trying to light you up with stingers the rest of the game.

@@spateri728 The best feeling for me is taking down the helicopter with the stinger, AA mines and the igla and then have people rage comment for using anti air weapons against a helicopter.
@@Venom-jt6sk Well yeh it an be a bit of a duck move. Depends on the balance of the teams. Shoot them out and steal their helicopter and they go even crazier as they can't spawn a new helicopter till they blow you up
I loved the Scout Heli In BF3. Had a ton of 100+ kill flawless matches. Best was 135-0 below radar was the best for pilots!!

Another great map to play with little bird is Siege of Shanghai Conquest Small, tons of buildings to manuever around and can be super fun with the big building and mowing down players.
don't forget to mention the teammate engineer in your chopper!! I didn't notice FuzzyOCE until 10 minutes lol

Had a really good transport heli pilot the other day. We were using it offensively against attack choppers and basically everything that wasnt a tank

I got introduced to the scout heli on battlefield hardline. That was probably the most fun I’ve had in it. The copilot with his mini gun just helps you clean up bases in no time and deal with enemy choppers at range. Too bad nobody plays hardline anymore

my little bird settings:
shift (+scroll up)=throttle up
ctrl (+scroll down)=throttle down
e+q (+mouse left/right)=yaw
w+s (+mouse down/up)=pitch down/up
a+d=roll left/right
this makes it extremely easy for small adjustments (except for getting the heli leveled to ground) and makes aiming super easy
honestly, I think heatseekers are viable. especially on paracel storm and golmud railway.
a good scout pilot with heatseekers can take on litterally any air vehicle and dominate them with ease.
and if you fly below radar to dodge a heatseeker, its essentially suicide, as in scout heli 1v1's the high ground almost always wins. if someone flies below radar to dodge my heatseeker, I simply fly at them and take em down. against a good pilot with heatseekers on a large map, you can essentially do nothing to stop them.

I just started practicing in the helicopters in bf4. This was very helpful :)
Me and my friend do this on Flood Zone too, you should (as the pilot) be support and throw ammo crates on the side of the heli, and then your repair man can use a 4x on a Shotgun with frag rounds, and his SMAW with infinite ammo as well as repairing.

I used to main the Scout 3-4 years ago when I still played this game on Xbox. I got really good with em, then I got to pc and barely touch em, and I suck ass flying now lol

Flares are so much better in jets because the missile will disengage pretty much instantly, and they recharge really quick so you’re not always flying aimlessly waiting for the recharge like ECM
Best helo experience I had was going 40-0 as an attack helo gunner on Golmud Railway. The main pilot and I were randoms but we were magic together in the helo.

I'm super jelly! I'm terrible at the helis and I always get rekt. Having defensive measures like jammer helps. I'm pretty low level on bf4 so my kits don't have all the good perks/defense abilities

First minute was so on point
I always preferred the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior due to being able to mount a GAU-18 lightweight .50 caliber as its primary armament, but I would be a liar if I didn't love using the Little Bird in ARMA

Years ago at the peak of BF4 I was in the top 50 pilots in the USA for the scout heli. I'm excited to get back up the leaderboard when BF6 comes out.

Scout heli were insane when you could use stingers from it. Those were the days. U had one support throw a supportcrate on the side :P
