Battlefield 4 is a first-person shooter video game developed by video game developer EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts. It is a sequel to 2011's Battlefield 3 and was released in October 2013 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360; then later in November for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Battlefield 4 was met with positive reception. It was praised for its multiplayer mode, gameplay and graphics, but was also criticized for its short and shallow single-player campaign mode, and for its numerous bugs and glitches in the multiplayer. It was a commercial success
Battlefield 4's multiplayer contains three playable factions-the United States, China, and Russia-fighting against each other, in up to 64-player matches on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One (24-Player on Xbox 360 and PS3). A newly reintroduced "Commander Mode", last seen in Battlefield 2142, gives one player on each team a real-time strategy-like view of the entire map and the ability to give orders to teammates. Also, the Commander can observe the battle through the eyes of the players on the battlefield, deploying vehicle and weapon drops to "keep the war machinery going", and order in missile strikes on hostile targets.[7][8] A spectator mode is included, enabling players to spectate others in first or third person, as well as use a free camera to pan around the map from any angle.
On June 10, 2013, at E3, DICE featured the map "Siege of Shanghai", pitting the People's Liberation Army against the U.S. Marine Corps. The gameplay showcased Commander Mode; new weapons and vehicles; and the "Levolution" gameplay mechanic. The video displays the last of these at various points, including: a player destroying a support pillar to trap an enemy tank above it; and a large skyscraper (with an in-game objective on the top floor) collapsing in the center of the map, kicking up a massive dust cloud throughout the map and bringing the objective closer to ground level.[9] Levolution also includes effects such as shooting a fire extinguisher to fill the room with obscuring clouds, car alarms going off when stepped on, metal detectors going off once passed through, or cutting the power in a room to reduce others' visibility.[9][10]
The maps included in the main game are "Siege of Shanghai", "Paracel Storm", "Zavod 311", "Lancang Dam", "Flood Zone", "Rogue Transmission", "Hainan Resort", "Dawnbreaker", "Operation Locker" and "Golmud Railway".[11][12] The game modes on offer include Battlefield's Conquest, Domination and Rush; while adding two new game modes called Obliteration and Defuse, along with traditional game modes such as Team Deathmatch and Squad Deathmatch.[12][13]
The four kits from Battlefield 3 are present in Battlefield 4 with minor tweaks. The Assault kit must now wait for the defibrillator to recharge after reviving teammates in quick succession. The Engineer kit uses PDWs, and carbines are available to all kits. The support kit has access to the new remote mortar and the XM25 allowing for indirect suppressive fire. The Recon kit is now more mobile and is able to equip carbines, designated marksman rifles (DMRs), and C4. Sniping mechanics also give with the ability to zero in your sights (set an aiming distance), and equip more optics and accessories than previous Battlefield games. The Recon kit is still able to utilize the MAV, T-UGS, and the Radio Beacon.[14][15][16][17]
New vehicles have also been introduced. With the addition of the Chinese faction, new vehicles include the Type 99 MBT, the ZFB-05 armored car, and the Z-10W attack helicopter. Jets have also been rebalanced and put into two classes, "attack" and "stealth". The attack jets focus is mainly air-to-ground capabilities, while stealth jets focus mainly on air-to-air combat. Another vehicle added in Battlefield 4 is the addition of the RCB and DV-15 Interceptor attack boats, which function as heavily armed aquatic assault craft.

ive always wondered what the farm potential was of an entire squad of thermal DMRs. especially on some of the naval strike maps.

@@SilkOCE hey i know a glitch or exploit with the aa mine if you could call it that. So apparently if you shoot a tv missile when a mine is placed if you directly or pass near the target the mine will trigger and track that aircraft that you shot the tv missile at. I was wondering if there was 4 engineers with their aa mines placed and one support player and all of the engineers should be running tv missiles on the attack boat. Btw you can place the aa mine anywhere you want as long as you the player is in the tv missile and shooting the aircraft you want killed.

Are you saying that if you shoot a TV missile near an AA mine, and that AA mine is near an enemy aircraft, the TV missile will then move towards and track that aircraft? Sort of like the TV missile itself was the AA mine?
I already do this lol. SCAR-H SV with FLIR and target detector. Works especially well on Lost Islands, Paracel Storm, and Hainan Resort.

I think I can speak for the community here and say LAVs are the most fucking annoying thing on maps without jets
They go brrrrrrrrrr
They're the most irritating thing even on maps with jets. Hainan Resort is a prime example. LAVs have nice, long sightlines on infantry and are hard to stop if you don't catch them already damaged or immobilized. It's a great map to play on as an LAV driver myself. Had some great killstreaks there.
@@xanderabbey8529 yeah, i almost always get a 50 plus kill streak there but my main problem is getting stuck while driving lol. I back up into a rock and i die due to that always

and considering it being warfare in 2042, i dont think you can get around thermals - just need better counters

@@SGIMartin There were already good counters in BF4. Smoke and flares and laser attachments. People seem to forget to use them to counter FLIR in the game.
@@xanderabbey8529 yea, flares are a great counter - bf4 is pretty balanced in its current state - maybe discounting the chopper gunner with a good squad - but otherwise everything has counters especially if teams play together

Always appreciate the advice and I agree 100% with using the minimap it really helps your potential for kills even if you're not the best you get that slight edge.
Minimap is the best tool in the game, hands down!

GG, a couple pointers that might help you.
1. don't ignore your gunner that's also repping you. He can likely repair faster than one infantry shooting rockets (exception for the rocket truck). Don't have him rep a little then leave him in the dust. Several times that game they were running after you asking to get back in the vehicle and you just left them. They're less likely to help you again. Treat them like gold, they'll keep you alive much longer.
2. someone was giving you free SOFLAM's the first half of the game and you weren't capitalizing on it. It's not as glamorous, but it does 45 damage instead of 30. Wait for your LAV to lock, then fire. That will also motivate the guy SOFLAMing to keep it up (notice how he quit the second half).
3. be more careful driving in the LAV so you don't get stuck so often. Spend a little more time with thermal off so you can see obstacles. Don't drive too fast on the sides of the map where it's easy to get stuck.
4. when playing as gunner, don't let your gun overheat, it gets very inaccurate at the end. Better to tap fire. Look the opposite direction as your driver in most cases where there's heavy infantry traffic to avoid surprises. That also make infantry scared to approach your vehicle - they'll learn to leave you alone or not get too close. I would love to see a match where you're tank gunner with incendiary for a whole match.
5. I was surprised your LAV never got stolen because you were repping it often in medium traffic areas. Safer to go farther away (unless you're about to die). Better yet, just stop and let your gunner repair you and don't move until he's back in the vehicle. That non-verbal communication can help you keep a great gunner, which keeps you alive.
6. At 19:58 you can see the rocket truck firing on your screen, which should tell you to drive away fast. You said it was unlucky he got you. Maybe it was unlucky you didn't notice him.

Best map to drop high kill count bombs on the MBT and Lav. One of my fondest memories playing with my friend, he on the gunner position and we both get 90 kills each.

Some matches it just seems like no matter which objective i head to theres an enemy LAV. Ive probably died to Lavs more than infantry in this game

I feel your pain. I swear, when I play it's like no matter how hard I play and how good I do, the rest of the team will always be just bad enough to make sure we still lose.

Using Handflares against these Night Vision Optic works very well.
Being able to smothly disengage and leave to avoid damage is everything, with whatever vehicle. If you can do that well, heal and go in again, you dont have to be a pro at aiming because you'll engage often enough to do damage. But thats more about situational awareness and not all players get that.

Any tips for hitting better tow shots? I feel like I can sometimes cross-the-map snipe heli campers and some games I can't hit anything. Love the Lav though, you did great in it, earned a sub :)
Try and lead it to start with and then just carefully keep the tow over the heli
You should make a video like the One you did for the tanks but with the other ground vehicles

Its the armor players who don't back cap that are really annoying, especially aa that sits in front of base on this map, a few well place slams hit with a rpg will move your stuck vehicle most of the time

It’s very common for lavs to get stuck imo
Ignoring that guy laser guiding the tank by just giving out a tow, that guy could be getting massacred and about to die and pulled out his pld in hope someone in a 500 meter radius pulled out a guided at weapon to help him. and yet no one almost ever does
I always make sure to use their laser designation. If I'm not using a laser-designatable rocket launcher, I'll find a TOW launcher. Can't disappoint the rare Recon player that actually helps out the vehicles on his team.
i wish they bring bf1 anti camp mechanics such as tank hunter kits for vehicles and tank hunter elite to bf2042

What's your secret to tanking those rpg shots? I saw that you would get hit by multiple launcher shots at a time and don't get a mobility hit. I get hit with one and my mobility gets fucked, any tips on that?

I want thermals to come back, but I want many practical counters to it. Grenades are too important to be replace by flares all the time and many people still don’t know about dice camo.
I started using thermal sights instead of zoom cuz of your gameplay and my kill count has gone 📈 and I last longer in the lav 🙏

Lets hope no thermals in BF2042. Would live the increased mobility after the snail Tanks in BFV. The un-spot trick is cool, but I think will be negated quite a bit by the animations.
