- I fell off my chair, so didn't get the introduction, but EC joined the transatlantic sessions at Royal festival Hall with 2 songs, George Harrison's WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS and a song dedicated to JEFF BECK called SAM HALL

Eric is of course a living legend. But its absolutely stunning that his latest outing is so fresh and original. Complete with orchestra, new arrangements of some of the most famous songs of our era and Jerry Douglas & band as the icing on the cake... All for JB from EC. The official release should really be something. Jeff would be proud.
Jerry Douglas the greatest Dobro player in the world!
Great Tribute to Jeff Beck! Still seems surreal he's no longer here to play the iconic Virtuoso music, performances and collaborations he did! 😔 God Bless & RIP🎸🏴🇬🇧
Nobody used a whammy bar like Jeff. He could manipulate it like a voice
Never heard "Sam Hall" like that. I cannot believe how they made such a beautiful version of this very old irish Folk Song Sam Hall, just incredible, mindblowing, touching to tears.
Wow, this is so beautiful! Thanks Mr. Eric Clapton to remembering Jeff Beck. 😃🥰🎶🎵👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Clapton is like a little child here, he’s definitely enjoying this.
I was there..we cheered and cried
The melody played in the beginning, is so beautifully felt! Even Clapton looked up and must have thought, "That's just beautiful."
Eric the love of my life😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is a great,ensemble.They're all
really into the music.What joy!
My friend Jeff...A lifelong friendship.
I don't know if it's just me, I haven't seen Eric this happy while playing music for such a long time
Must be so refreshing to play these songs. Playing Layla etc for 45 years must get a tad boring..
@@gaviscon79 I love and respect EC the man without qualification. He has found his "lane" and stays with the same song set- has since 2007 with little variation. As long as he fills arenas, not much will change.
Despite my respect for him, I've found myself becoming disinterested in hearing the same songs with the depth of his catalog left untouched. He and the band aren't pushing it, and at, age 78 coming up at the end of March, there probably isn't much incentive for him to change. I've been to 10 of his concerts and remember each as if it were yesterday. Great memories of by gone times.
Think he is a troubadour to the core, doesnt mean you can be happy all the time....in my humble opinion
@@gmb858 I agree. I saw Eric last year at the Albert Hall, i found it a bit underwhelming, hearing the same old songs(as great as they are), but played like he was just going through the motions. He's had his day, i think.
yes, he has been unhappy. And i dont know if it's just me, he looked comfortable on every clip played with Beck.

Thank you so much for sharing!
rest in peace jeff beck...so sad....huge lost of earth
Omg incredible 😢😢😢
Beautiful 😢😢😢
Jerry makes Eric look small on this musically.
Jerry is the absolute best ever on reso folks. Hands down, no debate.
That penny whistle or whatever it is sounds incredible.
Well that was simply lovely
one of my top top favorite songs
RIP Jeff.
Just how great this song is it takes me back to 1968 Clapton is just one of the greatest
Beautifully emotional. Thanks for sharing!!
Wasn't this heartfelt at the topmost level? He must have made a lot of people emotional for so many reasons.
Touching and heartfelt by Eric as always. What a revelation and a joy to hear him do a folk-type song, hopefully the beginning of a new chapter, who knows.
He didn’t want to play a lead guitar song because we are remembering Jeff beck a virtuoso lead guitar
Of the greatest songs written of all time, and of course Eric was there with George at its conception. Lots of emotional attachment for dear old Eric. And the old gezzas along side Eric on this evening. Bless.
Old fiddle geezer to Eric's right is Shetland fiddler Aly Bain, a marvelous musician, the man on accordion next to Aly is the incomparable Phil Cunningham, founding member of Silly Wizard, musician, producer and mentor to many in Scotland. Phil & Aly have collaborated on a number of albums. All highly recommended.
Awesome performance, thank's for putting it up! I recently read that Eric wasn't doing well, I'm glad he seems to be better than reported.
@rialto1961 Thank you for sharing this!
Simply beautiful 💖💞
R.I.P. JEFF BECK 🙏💘🔥

Beautiful Beyond Awesome xxoo
Meu Deus, esse arranjo ficou espetacular, magnífico, parabéns, como sempre Eric Clapton fora de série.
I Can’t get enough ❤
I'd like to think that the Heavenly collaboration of Eric Clapton and Richard Thompson could soon become a reality .....
Many thanks for uploading x
So beautiful tender & heart felt💞🙏.
Holala...Merci ...merci beaucoup pour ce partage !!!
Powerful, amazing....
beautiful
Beatiful
Amazing. What an experience. Thank you.
Beautiful.
Thank you for this. Jeff was my favorite when I bought my 2nd LP. Truth and Muddy's Electric Mud. But my first was DG Cream. Ya I was a head knocking 8yr old in love with FM radio and Sunshine of your love. I met a guy that lived up stairs from my father that was always playing this crazy electric blues rock. It was Electric Mud. Back home my much much older bros in a band. But I never heard Truth or Electric Mud from my bros friends. I went to Thrfty's andbought both. I loved listening to the guy upstairs from dad's apartment. I was so ..... well happy I got to turn on my bros and friend to shit they did not know at 8 yrs old. OFC I found out later they had friends who had the LP and 8 tracks. Dammit. But I had the LPs :}
I was about 14, listening to hendrix, king crimson, black sabbath, deep purple, pink floyd and similar. My dad came back from the nearby Oxfam[charity shop] one day with a bundle of Bluesey records, including Electric Mud.
Sorry for all the people who are disillusioned by EC playing for Jeff Beck and George Harrison. Personally I love this laid back folksy approach. Sometimes we need relaxed by music, sometimes energised. This is reflective and relaxing. Fab..
.
Wonderful concert, but then when is it ever not? Jerry introduced Eric as 'the guy who taught me this song' (While My Guitar....). There's clearly a lot of warmth there. Live music is wonderful, but nothing surpasses this tour. I was sitting right behind the 'cameraman'. Thanks so much for sharing this.
Best concert I've been to for a l-o-n-g time. When Jerry asked Eric Clapton to join him on stage, I think most of the audience assumed he was joking. Such a lovely bonus to the session.... McGoldrick, Bain, Matheson, Cunningham & Martha Wainright with Eric Clapton playing something very definately not in his usual song book !! Memorable.
Thanks For the MEMORIES JEFF 🙏
Our music our musicians. God blessed us all in our lifetimes with such talent and beauty.
What a tribute.
This is great!!
Wow, what IS this flute-like magical thing? Something wonderful new in this piece... Such fun!
Oh, there are many other to me mostly unknown masters changing the quality, many times. I feel a bit weak, in a good way...
Because the soul of the 60-70’s is returning. And Beck is part. Makes everyone happy!
I see Jerry got the translation session crew n aly Bain is playing and the dobro u can switch keys in real quick wish I could afford
Absolutely beautiful!!
This is fantastic, sounds heavenly and a beautiful tribute👏
Believe half what see,and nothing what you hear.
Another great night of music. British pop awards given live airtime with this marvellous show given zero. Disgusting by the tv companies.
You're so right. It's almost cowardly the way TV companies - and particularly the BBC - pander to commercial 'necessity'. What happened to 'Educate and Inform'?
@@oldandintheway1162 Everyone who was in the Festival Hall last night was in the exact right place on earth to witness this musical gem of a show.
@@oldandintheway1162 They do educate and inform,,,,as to what crap music is they give airtime to.
Sad and beautiful tribute …losing guitar hero’s …
Very nice!
He didn’t want to play a lead guitar piece because we are remembering Jeff Beck a virtuoso lead guitar
👏👏👏
Dear Eric, I miss posting your music on Instagram, but it was my choice. A void appeared regarding you. Cannot still figure it out energetically. But, you seem relaxed and doing well. So natural, which is really lovely. At this point what do you have to prove to anyone. I really do enjoy the George Harrison song featured, "WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS". Well done.:) Sending you my highest love vibration from Source. Please stay with us. We are almost in the GOLDEN AGE. It will surely be amazing. Always, Sara Weslow
What are you on about?
❤️
am I listening to Pachelbell's Canon on the violin rif? it doesn't matter... if yes or not it was wonderful and it makes me feel good. thanks guys..
yooooo
Well done Phil Cunningham
Was this concert shot professionally? I would die for Eric Claptons beautiful rendition of Sam Hall.
No, it was not…
...dig
Who's playing the other guitar?
Why is it in black & white?
Because I love b&w , gives better results imo
Great job….b&w makes it even better 👍☮️
Its a pitty its i black and white filming😊
Who's the other guitarist?
Jerry Douglas
@@rialto1961 Thanks
Cell phone video
So sad that we cant get a single word that they they are saying ???
So he plays a George Harrison song for Jeff Beck? Really?
No the second song is…
@@rialto1961 OK I didn't get that far. R.I.P. George and Jeff.
Eric looks much older and more frail suddenly
Nonsense, he looked pretty much the same to me. He also appeared quite lithe as he made his way through the orchestra when he departed the stage.
@@4orrcountry perhaps bad video quality. Glad he is ok
Because of the stupid Covid 19 vaxx!
一流の演者による三流のアレンジ…
I do not read this person as Eric Clapton energetically. I am unable to pick up an energetic signature at all. And I know Eric's frequency very well. I am flatlined on this. Is this person a look alike, maybe a clone? Just saying. I am being told "clone", only that one word... when I concentrate on Eric Clapton energy. Cannot be sure, yet. The clones are always a little off from the organic person, not truly identical, and they do not have an energetic frequency, generally soul-less. They appear emotionless, and sometimes lack the skills of the organic person they imitate. I sense an odd look about him. Sorry to say....anything is a possibility these days. Eric would be steadfast in regards to his freedom, sovereignty, and personal beliefs. He would be passionate as a musician. He believed in "love", and practiced that. I am concerned.
