RIP Tim Sale. Incredible artist. This is easily in my top five favorite spider man comics. A book that really did Gwen Stacy justice and a good throwback to classic Spider Man. Seriously if folks haven’t read this, go and pick this up. It’s well worth it.

@@estebansamra7255 in life story last few pages , Peter parker gets blown out of space station and then with web again comes back and he was without space suit. He should have died there,no reason given why this happened

Yellow looks better. Besides it's all about Gwen.
That last end panel of Mary Jane saying "Say hi for me, too" gets me every time, too. I think this story is what solidified Jeff Loeb and Tim Sale for me a power house comics due and one of my all time faves. Ed Brubaker and Sean Philips being the other.
Couldn’t agree more. A beautiful, subtle nod to her actions in Amazing after Gwen dies. Instead of sitting with him, she now leaves him to grieve.
Love that the story had nods to them as well.
Pretty much tear up anytime I read that part. Possibly my favorite comic of all time.
This is the best Loeb / Sale story in my opinion.
And Omar is right… the ending is just outstanding and so heartfelt.
RIP Tim, go Ms.
As someone who loves this story and who is a big fan of Gwen and Peter...I'm definitely picking this up.
I kinda like the borders.. It allows the reader to turn the pages without finfmding one's thumb in the middle of the story.
It does look gorgeous. Without a doubt, one of my favourite Spidey tales.
Tim Sale will always be one of my favourite artists. His style is timeless.
I'd probably buy this edition if i didn't already have the original issues and hardcover. I'm just glad that new Marvel readers get to enjoy it.
The trade dress running down the side of every single page is a very odd choice.
Absolute masterpiece. Love the nod to Mj and Peters selfless love..even if it’s just a small one.
MJ closes the door to be with Peter after Gwen dies to console him. Now she’s closing the door to let him grieve alone. Masterpiece.

Got mine today, great story and art ,a true tribute to Gwen Stacy. The format reminds me of the British hardback annuals, so some great nostalgia for me.
I have to grab this. It’s easily my favourite spider-man story.
I was gonna buy this but then those page borders are annoying. The whole point of the gallery edition is to enlarge the art. Thats seems like counterproductive
I somehow completely missed the solicits for this but it’s going right to the top of my must-buy list! Will pair nicely with my Daredevil Yellow edition that was solicited a few months ago!

I don't like the huge side borders. I'll keep my Omni. I like gallery editions. But I hate the giant big borders. They did the Warlock Gallery right.

@@MastermindAXL why double dip wheni have the Omni? If they made the art super sized i might consider it....but instead they put borders. Which defeats the purpose of it being gallery sized.

@@crashline With the borders the art is still bigger than the omni, but it could be even bigger without the borders. And the borders are distracting and without them the art could also be pulled away from the gutter. So I definitely agree, Warlock and Weapon X galleries, which don't have the borders, are awesome. I don't understand why they add borders for some of these.

This and other Marvel Gallery editions would be must buys for me, if not for the borders with words on every page. That totally ruins it for me. If new printings later take out the borders, I would buy them.

My personal favorite spider man story. It's such a beautiful story of first love and lost ❤️
Definitely don’t like the words on the sides. Guessing it would’ve otherwise been blank so they added something to prevent just a patch of color. Brings up the question of why they made the book those dimensions if they weren’t going to enlarge it enough for the edges. They did it with the covers and it worked out fine so it really seems like an intentional choice.
I just bought the superman kryptonite deluxe edition. Tim sale does the art and darwin cooke writes
That book doesn't get enough love. Wish those two would've had more opportunities to work together.

I would love to see a gallery edition of Superman for all seasons. One of my favorite Superman stories.
DC has an Absolute edition of Superman for All Seasons set for release on August 29, 2023. Absolute and Gallery editions are similar in size.

I’m torn with that bordering on EVERY page myself. At the end of the day, is the art that much bigger than the omnibus?

MAN I wish they'd put out trades of this book again! The fact that civil war is ever green and this isn't is a shame!
I own the single issues but I haven’t read them since they were first released. The only series I never bought was the Captain America one. I’ll be getting the Gallery Editions for all of them.
The writing and art are pretty awful but it's still a nice trip down nostalgia lane.
What really elevates this book to its legendary status is the colouring.
Steve Buccellato's beautiful colours are a lasting pleasure for the ages.
*Bear in mind that the colours are slightly muted in the gallery edition which also has that unnecessary blue page border.
Get this book if you haven't read it. It's honestly my favorite of the color books.
Personally, I absolutely cannot stand those stupid borders Marvel loves to put in the Gallery Editions and Adamantium Collections. Like we need to be reminded what we're reading on every page. The logos and colored text is super distracting.
If they don't want to use the full page size for the art then just make the book a little smaller or use a white border.
i read this story a couple of days ago to see if i actually wanted to buy this. i was going to until i realised how massive the gallery edition is. but watching this, i realise i just need to make space

Man, that fucking frame on the side. I can't even! Whoever had the idea at Marvel to print Gallery Editions with that frame added needs to be fired asap. I really mean that, it's atrocious design and it already destroyed the reading experience on Contest of Champions GE. This is sadly a skip for me. I'm sticking to the Omnibus, bit sad really.

This looks like an amazing version of this story. I think thought I will be holding out for a re-print of the color omni.
I think that's what I'd prefer. I have this book but I will never get used to those ugly, distracting borders. A huge disservice to the art and a massive design fail, sadly.

I thought I would be content with my TPB and the OHC, but the last two months I've been regretting not having pre-ordered this. Gotta grab it on Tuesday.

What omnibus is this collected on?
There was an omnibus called Jeph Loeb & Tim Sale: Yellow, Blue, Gray, & White Omnibus. It collects the four different stories Loeb/Sale did (Spider-Man, Daredevil, Hulk, and Captain America.) I got it a year or two ago.
