I've always been impressed with a women's ability for problem solving. Figuring out all those crazy angles and making them fit was a work of art. I watch my wife come up with solutions that work much better than my desire to make it fit even if it wasn't made to fit....haha. You scored major points on this build!

I usually hate staining wood ,bc the „vintage look“ or darkening the wood to make it look more expensive, which many people want to achieve, just looks cheap and tacky and disgusting . However your super black stain is just absolutely stunning and I love how it accentuates the pattern of the ash tree wood and the combo with the (I think the color is called forest) Eames plastic chairs is just marvelous !

Love this project, such a lovely finished product. If I were to have a go, I think I'd add a hole/mounting point for a lazy susan type spinning thing in the centre that sits on top. For those meals with the family where you just have far too much on the table haha. You may have heard this already and I apologize in advance if you have, I'd suggest flipping the legs onto the upside down table top rather than fight the large top, then you can fix it down easier also then simply roll it onto it edge and up.
I only found your channel this evening, and this build is seriously the best thing I've ever seen. Norm Abrams has got nothin' on you! I wish I was half the woodworker you are. And I love that you figure it all out as you go. Just brilliant.

Jason over at Bourbon Moth actually does his large circles exactly how you ended up doing yours for the purpose that he wants to only do one pass with the circle jig just in case it moves slightly. So he gets one good round pass, then uses the flush trim bit. I personally have never had issue with my (even homemade) jigs shifting on me, but just know that some people do it the way you did intentionally
The best thing about my old farm table is all the visible handwriting practice, drawings and other projects my son did as a kid dented into the top... History.
Yeah. My daughter used to carve hearts on our dining room table.... I got mad at first. But look back and see how she just loved to be creative and it’s a positive thing

Just absolutely beautiful design Tamar! Well done. When I saw the thumbnail, I honestly did not think the pedestal could be that sturdy. Although you didn't film your 6'4" husband standing on the base, your petite frame did not seem to deflect the wood one bit. A really impressive bit of engineering!

I always look forward to your new projects and appreciate how casual yet polished they look. I’m in the process of attaching a 32 inch round oak top to a pedestal and plan to use a square piece of plywood for the connection and then a round skirt about an inch from the table edge to keep the top flat. I have an Amish made 6 foot round oak table with a skirt and it’s still flat after 4 years.

Make it removable to fit in the spot that the storage cover fills. It would be interchangeable.

I'm always having to fix mistakes. Great job. And, yes I was a little sad to see you stain it black, but it was your project and we need to respect why you decided to do it. It still looks fantastic. Love the design. Also, you do a great video. I think, of all the woodworker channels I have subscribed to, your production methods are one of the best.

I always look forward to your new projects and appreciate how casual yet polished they look. I’m in the process of attaching a 32 inch round oak top to a pedestal and plan to use a square piece of plywood for the connection and then a round skirt about an inch from the table edge to keep the top flat. I have an Amish made 6 foot round oak table with a skirt and it’s still flat after 4 years.
