Great video keep them coming I just replace my complete frontend on my 69 c10 and having Tow issue with both of the tires pointed in ward I hope and alignment will take care of this problem
Inner Tube was a Great Non Squeak Idea, i Done 3-4 Spring Cuts B4 & Never thought Of That..... &, .... Sure Nice To See It Go Quickly in the fast motion phaze compared to reality where-By little problems & Daily Life snafus Make It go "NOT Quickly" :)
I just grinded down the little groove for the brake line where it sits and rotated the brake line to where it didnt hit. That way i didnt have to bend brake line at all
in need of advice. I have an 85 long bed with original suspension. the truck ride like its 30 yrs old bouncing and swaying all over the road. I want to upgrade the suspension and make it ride like a newer truck. will new coils and upper/lower control arms help me with this?
+tyerell charles Honestly, it would cost ALOT of money to get an old truck to ride like a new truck. You'd have to buy the most expensive parts and kits available. Even then, it still wouldn't ride as good as a new truck. Close, but still not as good. New shocks and a stiffer sway bar should help your current situation. It's possible that your truck doesn't have a sway bar or a previous owner might have removed it. If you do have a sway bar, replacing the bushings from stock rubber to urethane bushings will help too. Thanks for watching!
So I just bought a '71 c10 longbed 2wd and want to lower the front maybe an in or 2 hand have the rear level with front. This is the first I've ever messed with suspension and stuff. I just need some help and pointers! Thanks
Aaron Gray Congrats on the new truck! For the front I would just use drop spindles. I would NOT recommend the spindles that I bought. Belltech makes good stuff. For the rear you can just get some new springs and shocks. What you want to do is pretty easy and relatively cheap. Generally speaking, the rear end is about 2" taller than the front. So if you got 2" front drop spindles, you would need a 4" drop in the rear. All of this would be completely bolt on. Check ebay as many sellers have kit's with front spindles and rear springs all in one listing. Good luck and thanks for watching!
that was a great series of videos...would u still recommend those spindles or would go with different ones? I got a 74 chevy truck and its dropped with 2 cut coils on each side. I want to get spindles and proper drop springs for it. heres a video of my truck if u wanna check it out...1974 Chevy C10 5.3 lsx...quick walk around
ivorton23 I would not use the Chassis Tech spindles again. I did a lot of searching on the net after I had my problem... and frankly what I read scared me. I'll probably be swapping the spindles out in the not too distant future. A lot of people say the Belltech spindles are MUCH better and they don't cost much more. Hope this helps!
I have a question, how were you able to get the new upper shock mount torqued down? I have headers on my truck with very little room to work with. Thanks.
Ive got a 1982 long bed chevy but I run15 buy 10 inch wide wheels would that be a problem? And did you have to purchase lowering shock or are they just regular shocks because I recently just put new stock size shocks on and was wondering if those would work or not?
+Madison Perigo It depends on what the offset of the wheels is. It's definitely possible that you may have to get different wheels. You will need drop shocks.
So I take it a vintage 15x10 U.S. Indy mag would be out of the question? I imagine one would have that issue regardless of manufacturer of the spindles.
nandoGdog Depends on the back spacing... but yes, 15x10's are likely not going to work. I'd probably have to go to at least a 17" wheel for a 10" width to work.
I have a question I bought a 92 gmc jimmy so I dropped it by cutting the front 2 coils and it seem it dropped fine and now i want it more dropped by cutting one more coil will this affect the truck thanks.
for the flip kit after you threw the differential to the opposite side and dropped it off the back stands how much clearance did you have between the frame and b differential?
+Abraham Betancour I had previously welded in a c-notch in anticipation of installing this drop kit. I had plenty of clearance. But if you don't install a c-notch, you will have roughly 2-3" of clearance. Granted, I have seen people running this much drop without a c-notch and not have any problems, I would recommend installing a c-notch. Lots available online through numerous vendors. Both bolt-in and weld-in c-notchs. You DON'T need a large step notch.
your first issue with the brake is you ran you line behind the ball joint it went in front you would not have a problem ... second problem you did is you bought chassis tech .. should of bought belltech suspension .. been a dealer for years .. or buy djm suspension parts ... chassis tech is ok but always have to make fit even if its made for your application.. replace those rotors they look beat ..
Was it the upper control arm being aftermarket and lower control arm being stock that caused him fit up problems? Or was it the new drop spindle and stock lower control arm that cause the problem?

im glad i saw this video really helped a lot.
thanks for taking the time to make all of these videos.

Finished my suspension up today, just need to bleed the brakes and get an alignment. Also had to route the brake line over the spindle.
+Justin Awesome! Feel free to share pics on my Facebook page!

Hello you did a great Job man but please answer me (it was a good Idea to cutting spring and heating them it's caused any Problem ??
great job and did they ever get back to you about those brake rubber hoses, maybe that company sells their own kind for the kit
gReG sKi I never heard back from them.
Nice videos. You need some safety glasses. Old trucks have tons of dirt dropping from them.
Onewithsausage Thank you for watching!
+milkcrate82 if I drop my truck in 3-5 will I have to c notch it
What spindles did you use? 3” or 2.5” what brand
I know this is old af but that hard line is for the other side passenger-specific parts & driver side specific parts

great will be looking into belltech then...thanks
I have a question, how were you able to get the new upper shock mount torqued down? I have headers on my truck with very little room to work with. Thanks.
My truck has an inline 6 so I have plenty of room to get to that nut. You may just have to get creative.
muito bom seus videos to levantando minha c14 cabine dupla para deixar ela bem agressiva

I would not cut another coil. You'll run out of suspension travel.
Maybe try switching sides for the brake line so it would bend outward a bit more.
Exactly. I actually have mine swaped sides and have plenty of room
geniooooo. saludos desde argentina, very very good

Helpful stuff man I appreciate it.
good job man
Thank you sir!
Could this front end job be done without an air compressor and pneumatic impact wrench?
Yes...
My lower ball joint spins and I can’t get castle nut on to get cotter pin on- what do you recommend?
Travis Fasano use a prybar and press on it real hard
sweet vids man! but. what if u run a bigger wheel thats is wider? like 20". that should make it without a problem right? :)
HKSArKz2 Thank you! A larger diameter wheel should not be a problem. Only smaller than 15" would have clearance issues.
thank man for fast respons! :) have a nice day!
How did you bend the brake lines?
David Santillan I just used a couple of wrenches. Used the box end of two wrenches and bent the line by hand. Thanks for watching!
looks good
east coast lowlife Thank you!
man your truck build is nice i have been watching your old videos over the past few days
your first issue with the brake is you ran you line behind the ball joint it went in front you would not have a problem ... second problem you did is you bought chassis tech .. should of bought belltech suspension .. been a dealer for years .. or buy djm suspension parts ... chassis tech is ok but always have to make fit even if its made for your application.. replace those rotors they look beat ..

great job. how much was the hole kit?
+Adan vald Contreras Its been awhile, but I think I spent around $500.
Not bad. Great videos
+Adan vald Contreras It was affordable.
milkcrate82 hey mike I need your help please how would I do a 4 inch front drop on my 77 c10
about how much money total do you have in the front end rebuild parts?
mike gager Around $600. The most expensive parts were the drop spindles and the upper control arms. Shocks weren't cheap either.
that looks sweet
Fullthrottle440 Thank you sir! I've been enjoying your videos lately. Keep up the good work!
did the wheels give u clearance issues?
+Rafael Sanchez Nope. Thank you for watching!
milkcrate82 I lowered mine it's a 83 Chevy c10 and I have clearance issues stock wheels
To much work but looking 👍
Thanks for watching!
Just so you know don't use after market and original parts together on a lowering kit thats why you had your problems
Was it the upper control arm being aftermarket and lower control arm being stock that caused him fit up problems? Or was it the new drop spindle and stock lower control arm that cause the problem?
What’s the tire size on the front ?
Looks goofy with small tires
I have 1977 C10. And its lifted. What should I do if I only wanna drop it an inch or so? 2" at max?????
