Thanks for this video. It encouraged me to try it this way. I think it went easier for me than you. I have a huge assortment of tools which helped a lot. Cost me only 115 dollars for the starter. Started right up after installation.
Had starter issues with my 2005 hemi Jeep Grand Cherokee Would go to start and no crank only a click, and the dash was giving me different dash messages like “seatbelt fastened” and other weird stuff, was not the relay and was not the solenoid on the starter, my issue was oxidation of the wire end on the wiring connection to the solenoid of the starter, like when a copper penny turns greenish in color, i took a 2ft piece of brake line and taped a steel wire brush to the end and sprayed connection cleaner on the connection and scrubbed it with my wire brush until clean, haven’t had any issues yet! And even better I didn’t have to struggle with removing the starter and only cost me $5 and a half hour in the driveway
Gunna do mine this way of pulling out the wheel well but if you have enough extensions you can get both bolts from underneath, also yes to get more leverage you can use 2 wrenches but use the closed ended side to loop around open ended side thats how you hook them together
I drove mine, came home parked, next day it just clicked, red lightning bolt was on, everything on the dash and all lights worked, did this before and ended up being the computer went out. Took it to Chrysler garage they said it was a bad throttle body,$300 bucks for the part, same thing just clicks, then said it was the oil pressure switch, $50 more dollars, same thing, then they said it was starter relay,$20 more bucks, same thing, then they said the computer went out, I put a new $1000 computer in it last summer, and paid them $100 to flash it and $200 to put it in, so I had my doubts. so I went and got it brought it home, did some wire testing, crossed the starter and it started, it was a bad starter the whole time, $200 more for the starter, I changed it and it starts every time. So always check your own vehicles out. It’s a big time pain changing these starters, I was being lazy and it costed me big time.
Best part of this video was the "hot glue gun" attempted 😂 but seriously thank you for the idea of going through the wheel well instead of dropping the drive shaft.
Thanks And I’m not even sure my starter is bad. Just what the battery people said. Ugggh. Could be alternator, I think. Cause last time I started, I accidentally left the car running for 24 hours. Battery was low but not fully charged.
Thanks for the video, am about to attempt this in the next few days. I am planning on going through the wheel well like you did to avoid having to remove the drive shaft. Any additional tips would be appreciated.
Dude less talk, more information, why post a vid of you talking, and not trouble shooting, you have to much time on your hands, take tour time with the job,and do more editing 🤦🏾♂️

Can't see much here hoss... you need to do this in some light.
For sum reason there a lighting bolt on my dashboard too
Nice video! Next time get a ratchet, long extension and a flex joint for the end of it
That is what i did on the bottom bolt. The top one I used a ratchet wrench with flex head through the fender hole side.

You can do it!
Thanks for the video! Was the computer throwing a code for the starter or auto-shut down?
I’ll be posting vids soon on how to diagnose a jeep, feel free to check it out.
