In this video, Dr. Malvika shares her success story as an international medical graduate in the UK. She starts by briefly introducing herself and then how she decided to become an IMG in the UK. The IMG Marvel then talks about the application process for the foundation year 1 & 2 combined training program and talks about her experience moving to the UK after getting accepted during the covid-19 pandemic. Dr. Malvika also discusses her role as an FY1 doctor and the quality of training she undergoes.

DR. MALVIKA:
Malvika is currently an FY1 level trainee working in the East Midlands. She graduated with a medical degree from The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - Medical University of Bahrain in 2019. Malvika has always wanted to pursue surgery and hence she decided that in order to get the best training, and make that dream a reality that she would apply for training in the UK. After graduating from medical school, she took a gap year and applied to the UK’s two-year foundation program through the eligibility application. She was accepted into her top choice of the deanery and is currently working on her core surgical training application. After successfully making it through the eligibility process, Dr. Malvika and Dr. Hebah started a youtube channel called IMG Marvels to help other IMGs navigate the path to the UK for training.

Is it compulsory to have 2 year work experience before applying for FY1 in UK, if there is 2 year gap from graduation till now??
I am currently doing my internship in Turkey but due to covid it lasts only 10,5 months... Im afraid they wont be accept my internship so have to apply for a fy1 training job. Everyone is telling me its too hard to find fy1 training job for a IMG.. I feel overwhelmed already

Bro… just pass your IELTS or OET and you are golden. The UK accepts everyone and almost anyone.

I’m an international Med student currently in China. I’ll be graduating July this year and I’ll love to move to the Uk. First I’ll love to get my internship the proceed to practice. Based on gmc criteria I stand eligible for the FY1 program. Please I’ll love to start processing my application and would greatly appreciate all the help I can get. The eligibility window for the 2021 Foundation Programme is now closed. The eligibility window for UKFP 2022 will open in April 2021. Further guidance will be released soon. So you would need to check new guidance in April. You can also check available guidance just to know what to expect in April, the link to the document is on the website. It's called - UKFP 2021: Eligibility Applicant Guidance. We hope this helps :)

Hi, i have a query as in one of your videos you talked about deans statement, now i will be graduating by Jan 2021 , and the deans statement 2022 is no more applicable , i am currently studying in Philippines and will be going back India, what about the statement then ?
The video abt fy1 and I didn’t anything abt it in ur video so its like normal vlog to dr in the uk only not really helpful
