I make garlic butter, absolutely delicious. I use this butter to cook many things. It makes delicious garlic bread especially if you top the butter with finely grated parmesan cheese (place in broiler to melt the cheese, continue cooking until cheese is golden brown. Watch it because it browns quickly).
Hey you two and your farm family. I have so much respect for you. Your work ethic, your constant awareness of reusing items to help the environment and you love and care of your animals. Whatever your days bring, and there must be frustrating times, you just get on and deal with it all. You are such a great example to other young people. Hugs from the UK and a scratch behind the ears for the beautiful Kati. 🙂
Hi there thx for sharing your homemade butter, cream etc😁 just wonderful. U said u dont really have use for buttermilk, why dont u try baking buttermilk rusks, pudding or cake. God bless and keep up the good work🙏❤️
My grandparents had a cream skimmer that removed the cow cream. I guess I was the lucky kid who got to churn butter that came from the grandparents' cows. Farm l8fe was good. They lived in a converted log cabin house on the original homestead, which would have been there over 100 years, now nearly 200 years od. What a great life.
Your videos are not long n boring,I enjoy watching your videos, you always show how to build things with what you have, plus I also enjoy your cooking videos, keep up the great work you both do
Despina, thank you for all your knowledge about butter and how it's made and how it's used and stored. This isn't common knowledge in the United States any more.
Mostly here in the states buttermilk more of an ingredient to be used in baking. I agree it doesn’t taste good by itself lol love watching the butter process, so fun
Very nice. Have seperated cows milk at my grandparents place when i was young, plus making butter and ice-cream. The separating machine back then was huge, time has definitely changed them. Enjoyed very much, thank U.😀😉❤
You have managed to capture the fun of getting things done and experimenting with baking from first principles and building upwards into finished dishes. Okay, so some were not quite what you hoped to achieve, but that is the fun and excitement of learning. Never let the fun escape your grasp, keep hold of the satisfaction from learning, and experimenting. Together, you two are building your better life, one nail, one saw cut, one screw, and one cooking experiment at a time.
Buttermilk cooked with a bit of flower, hmm memories of childhood, when served as dessert with a little sugar soo good it you can use the cooked buttermilk to make a sauce, into a little butter and salt, very Tasty on potatoes with eggs😋
I’m so impressed with all your cooking / homemaker skills ❤ Fresh homemade butter, sweet cream, yogurt, jams, jellies, breads…. And the list goes on ! You have such a beautiful life 😘❤️
There's a very easy way of making butter now. Put the cream into a large jar. Twice the size of the amount of cream Tighten the lid and begin shaking the jar, top to bottom, making the cream splash. It can take a few minutes of shaking. No electricity needed.
My grandparents had dairy cattle and had a huge separator. I loved using her churn to make butter. Grandma also used yellow food dye for her butter. Memories. ❤
I loved this episode. So interesting and informative about the butter making process. I don't know how you find the time to do everything you do. It's so satisfying to fill your fridge with your own milk fresh veggies and eggs. And all the great things in the storage room for the winter! God bless you and have a wonderful holiday season.
You have a lot of uses for your goat milk. You could also make garlic butter, herb butter, or the possibilities are endless. I enjoy watching your videos. Great job on your projects.
Thank you for this detailed video. Definitely not too long. Very helpful. Seeing the cream separater was cool. So many people discourage keeping goats because of the low fat content in the milk vs cows milk. I aspire to keep goats one day soon. I live alone & don't need a ton of milk that cows would supply. Nor do i need lots of cream for making butter. You both have inspired me to "go for it" & learn as i go, with raising goats. Of course i am also studying "how/to" now, with books & UA-cam. 😊 You have courage & are willing to take calculated risks & learn many new homestead related things ( and building skills too!) & put them into action. I admire that!! I also appreciate Davids low-tech way here, ( finger dipped in the heating milk) to check the temperature. Having a thermometer is helful, but its also great to know how to ck temp when heating the milk, without one. Ty❣ 😁👍🏽
Fascinating!! You never bore us, we love everything you do. How is your well situation? Were you able to have professional well person get your water level back up?
The music is really good nice job Despina. You should still have one or two goats having kids so that you can still have milk, butter, cream and cheese if you even get cheese.
Hi, love the butter making. David could make you some butter pats with an engraved goat on the paddle. Garlic/ herb and paprika butter is lovely. Thank you for your skill information. Stay safe.
I used to help my grandmother separate the cream from milk she got from her house cow. She made butter, as you did. The wooden paddles she used helped to remove the very last moisture from the finished butter.
You need a publisher and assistance in writing a book about your individual histories, finding one another, your adventure to arrive on the farm and how you have grown and developed the farm to this point.
Very interesting video. Your learning AND sharing what you have learned in the process. Also I noticed your white board had 2 Pew-Pews on it!! Very cute.☺️
I drink goats milk as I am allergic to cows milk. I have not tasted goats butter, as it difficult to find and is very expensive. I love goats cheeses, but it is also very expensive. Love from Queensland.
That carmel looks like what we would call in English, "condensed milk," that has been cooked to make caramel. I know that Ukrainians will often get a can of condensed milk and boil it in a pot with water to make a kind of caramel.
I love buttermilk with hot cornbread
Awesome task! I like that you use all parts of the milk. Now buttermilk makes great buttermilk pancakes and buttermilk biscuits. 😊
I love watching know matter what you are videoing love you guys
She is good cook.............
VERY INTERESTING
The music is so perfect!!
your videos are never too long, on the contrary I love everything you do

I love making butter and I use the buttermilk for making pancakes and biscuits. It makes tasty bread and helps like a natural yeast.
That was very interesting
Don't worry you didn't speak too much, i was very informative. Xx

Would you consider creating a yearly calender with pictures of your beautiful animals and yourselves of course?
YES! That would be SO fun!
Very interesting to this old city girl. Thanks.
I always found the rinsing the hardest part. I didn’t have all the fancy machinery. 😊
Suggestion would be to save the buttermilk and use it to make pancakes. Of course everyone likes buttermilk pancakes. Right?
I’m so impressed with all your cooking / homemaker skills ❤
Fresh homemade butter, sweet cream, yogurt, jams, jellies, breads…. And the list goes on !

There's never a dull moment with you guys. I learn a lot from both of you.
Resourceful folks you are!

buttermilk is used in the US for biscuits. Thank you for showing us this use of a Kitchenaid type blender. I love to see how you make things, Despina.

Hmm, I have never heard of goat's milk butter. It looks delicious, does it taste goat-like?
I would say 2%... it tastes stronger than normal butter , but not exactly goat like.
Butter milk is great for baking
Have u tried truffle butter? It goes amazingly well with warm bread! No idea how to make it sorry but yummo!
Sooo cool!
Farmily Gourmet cooking😋

Loved it, very informative ty❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦

Love homemade food 😋
Any thoughts about adding cows for dairy and meat?
Not really thought about it 🤔
I don't drink buttermilk either girl. Yucky 🤢😬
Have you ever noticed oil separating from the milk? Maybe after freezing/after keeping above 30c for a while?
I drink goats milk as I am allergic to cows milk. I have not tasted goats butter, as it difficult to find and is very expensive. I love goats cheeses, but it is also very expensive. Love from Queensland.
I love your geese ! What do you do with the geese ? Do you keep them to eat their eggs ?
Where could I buy a milk separator?
