🔴What do you think is the biggest reason to wait for the 2025 Mazda Miata?🤔 🏆Brandnew Honda S2000 Stuns Everybody WATCH HERE 👉ua-cam.com/video/EXl6sFhJLUc/v-deo.html
An auto tranmission only, means the end of what the Miata was all about. Add to that the hybrid design, we can play taps for tye Miata, as we knew it!!
Make it lighter, NA, no hybrid, no turbo, no AT. That is the only way it should be. My idea...add removable large bumpers to make the car bigger for EPA purposes. Customer can then replace bumpers with aftermarket bumpers....or just imclude the smaller bumpers under the "EPA" bumpers.
JDM look?! The NA Miata was mostly designed in California by an American...... In fact, it beat the competing design that was provided by Mazda's design studios in Japan!
I owned a Mazdaspeed Miata. And a 2020 BBR club. The turbo speed was more fun. It had some torque. It had more torque at 1800rpm. Than the 2020 had at peak. Turbos are not bad. Tune them right and keep them spooled up. Auto paddle shift with turbo will be faster.
MX5 or miata is about driving fun and not primary about speed. I still have my first genration NA with pop up lights and the second generation NB, both stock. The NB is faster, but the NA is more nimble.
If it’s a hybrid it won’t be a lightweight car anymore. Also being an automatic car changes the driving experience. If the price tag is getting even heavier (there the video is contradicting itself) it will be nothing like the classic MX5 anymore.
Goodbye Miata . Turbo engined hybrid spells trouble. Add an automatic transmission. The Mazda will grow in size. It will morph into a four door Bloated direct injected piece of crap. Tell Mazda to call it RX 25 and leave the Miata alone. This is the time to be heard not after it happens.
Hybrid? Automatic 8 speed? Come on. You buy a sports car for the drive. Automatics and hybrids are great for city driving, but sports cars need standards and turbos for those long curvy roads. Give the standard the 8 speed and dump the hybrid.
Let us fervently hope the 2025 MX-5 has that delicious "concept car" body that we see here, especially the hardtop version. It's well past time to give MAZDA fans something this beautiful, even if it means stretching the wheelbase a few inches.
If light weight sport convertible like Mazda Miata or Toyota GR86 coupe don't have an engine with over 250hp, its never going to be true spirited light weight sports car no matter how nimble handling they are. Put some serious engine in the bonnet for change rather than just cosmetic plastic changes.
Not one chance in hell would I buy a battery powered miata. Gas and Turbo Gas is what makes this car so desirable and fuck the millage shit... I would go for a rotary version and screw the mpg shit.
Something is really off here... 280HP under 3 seconds? That's effectively instant torque. Even with that, I can't see how they manage to tune it to get under 3 seconds. Around 3.5 seconds is a bit more realistic number, assuming near-instant torque is possible. Even if they manage to keep it around 2500lbs with the turbo, it's still not possible. They'll need to keep the weight down to 2300 lbs or lower to have any chance of doing under 3 seconds. As for hybrid, it would be nice if it would be using a similar system as their upcoming CX-50. Except it's paring the hybrid motor with the Miata engine. Though that means it will be eAWD, but that's both a pro and con. I'm going to guess that it'll be around 4.1 seconds for the 0-60. Also, 50 mpg combined for a hybrid is very far fetched. Judging by the existing number of hybrid systems Mazda has, we shouldn't expect much more than 41 mpg combined.
@@kevinquick4844 I would give them some benefit of the doubt. Reliability would be one thing, but it should technically be possible to handle that much torque to get it around 3.5 or under 4 seconds at least. Traditional manual and automatic I have my doubt, but I think DCT may be possible.
The hybrid version is different to normal hybrid cars. It will have an pure electric engine drive which has the torque to move this little thing wildly. The lightweight Rotary is just used as range extenter and will NOT move the car - it's for the electric power only. The electric range will be about low 100km/60miles - so a small battery is adequate. It will be a (more or less) lightweight car. The combined range with most likely 50liter fuel will be about 680km/425miles.
So many different illustrations of different cars, maybe none of them are authentic. Another imaginary car prediction. In today's traffic I would always choose a CVT transmission. But then I prefer a 4 door hatch for carrying capacity. Hybrid technology may be better. Battery explosions worry me. I'm not dying to try a Hybrid.
Calling the Miata a JDM roadster may sound cool but almost makes no sense. Only a right-hand drive imported roadster could rightly be called a JDM model.
I can’t believe they eliminated the manual transmission on the MX5RF for 2024. So this is insane. Hope there is a boycott against the 2025 Miata without a 6 speed gearbox.
@@mistersecret88 ...and then Toyota like corvette and Porsche will priced this MR2 something like 60K plus options up to 75k. Remember Corvette Z06 when first talked about was rumor to be 80k-90k max to get people all excited? And what 6 digit price we ended being asked for
What this interprete to me… hybird model or turbo model, heavier, more costly, 8 speed auto only??? No manual transmission, cost more, more color options, does that mean more different shade of gray & white, or dull colors vs less sporty color…and reduce $1k…. 🤔… don’t think so… will see…
The whole video is just blablabla. The 2025 Miata or MX5 model looks exactly like the 2024. All these pictures are renderings and the explenation are roumors for a later model, which came as a study, but nothing is reality.
I find this video questionable. I doubt that Mazda will alienate their loyal base that expects a light weight well balanced NA roadster and convert it to a bloated GT car. All that additional power and at a cheaper price? I call BS.
The ND2 design is about 8 years old. We're losing our smiles. A new design with power upgrade is long overdue. If it's true the hp will be bumped to 280, even if the weight jumps up to 2,800 from 2,450, the power to weight ratio will be 10:1, down from about 13.5:1! That'll bring back our smiles.

hybrid and auto. no thanks. i would rather buy an old model.
Sounds like a nightmare. Cutting edge technology ? Also known as the bleeding edge of technology. No thanks. I love my NC 1.
It is unclear whether it will have a manual transmission available. Not interested if manual not available.
fully agree!
could be worse could be cvt though
Miata - no manual - no sale
there are very very very few automatics, what suports your thinking

No Manual Transmission means a big loss of SALES.
Not true....
@@rjdavis7503 Very TRUE!!!!
Its a bloody hybrid so it wont be light, ergo, its NOT an MX5.

Hybrid & turbo ? Add complexity/ weight & hotter operating temperatures what could possibly go wrong ? 🤔

Not sure I would buy one if it has a battery in it I don’t want the stress of it breaking or catching fire
My 1990 has already a battery, otherwise it would not start😜

This cars - never with a automatic - this car needs manual transmission. Its a car for "drivers". Light weight with a battery in the car... oh man..

Yea.... Fuck the hybrid... That is not what a sports car is and should never be even considered.
Hybrid or electric is the end of Miata
No way is it going to be a 3 sec. car. Also, if they're going to do something drastic, like turbo, they'd do it with the next generation Miata

it's not a MIATA it's MX5

3 second 0 to 60. Sure. They wont give up on stick no worries. This is all pretty much b.s
BARF!!! Anything related to EV or even just only an Auto Transmission! How to ruin a car🤮!!
