Pavlin I ride a dr 650 and that bike has been in parts of Australia most big adventure bikes cant go .no radiator water pump radiator hoses and no major electronics I have a 32 litre fuel tank on it and can get about 670 klm to a tank . most reliable bike in the world.

I feel the same Pavlin. Im pretty satisfied with my bike & my budget trips. The only restriction i have to put on my trip is its duration. Even if i can spend more money, i cannot make a longer trip than 9-10 days as i have re-join the office (even though i have company leaves left) as most of the time its just not acceptable to take such long leaves at once 😓as the work suffers.

I was dreaming long about return to motorcycling and since three or four years i own my motorcycle. I was watching your channel long before i have decided to buy my own bike. Thank you for many practical small things from begining of your channel. My bike is small "adventure bike". On begining i was happy and enjoyed with this like a child or even more. But after this time im start hating this typical "adventures bikes" of today- i hate this lcd or tft screens, i hate tones of plastic covers, all this electronic, flashy marketing toys. Modern motocycles are crap. My eyes are going direction classic bikes or so called "modern classic" where modern technology is covered in classic- made from quality metal with classic speedometer. I know this bikes are not best to travel but I don't care- for people who knows what they want even travel is not impossible. This might be slower but much more enjoyable anyway for me. I don't know if i would be able to fullfil this but this are my thinking of today. Maybe someone can skip my mistakes .
Due to the fact that I'm turning 67 in a few weeks I can confirm your fathers philosophic approach to live. But even though my toiletpaper roll ist turning frightening fast I 'll try to do some budget adventures on a shitty motorcyle next year as I did in the last 48 years.
@@motorcycleadventures Ok, shitty is a little bit exaggerated but that thing - a Aprilia Pegaso 650 - is 25 years old. And the guy who owned it before just used it as many people use their car. Just for transport without paying much attention on service and maintenance. So it had a lot of annoying things to fix when I bought it some years ago. But I always wanted to have one and by the way, I payed not more than many of the actually hyped luggage Systems or riding gear would cost. And I bet that we now that Noraly aka Itchy Boots got an new old bike see an new hype on buying 'simple' older bikes. The myth that these old bikes can be maintained and repaired by every local blacksmith even in Tajikistan ist still alive. I can assure everyone that is not the case.
I've turned 67 and my health is failing . I dont use off road and find it too tall. So I will sell my Tenere in Varna next Spring if you know anybody interested in buying it
I have a 2013 Honda nc700x, it wasn't the small dual sport I set out to buy when I took up riding a few years ago, but boy am I happy with it! They run forever if basic maintenance is done and get very good mpg. I paid $3600 for it and have done a few upgrades so I've got around $4000 into it.
Would I buy a new BMW, no. My old one bought 2nd hand, a 2010 model is enough for me. I can not afford the Yamaha World raid. It now costs $22,000 in Australia and the basic Tenere is $19,000. It has increased by $3,000 in just 4 years. You bought your Tenere at the right time. I enjoy your channel and content. Well done Palvin.
Canadian price about $ 13,500. Your import tax is a rip off. I have relative in Australia , when cars were manufactured in Australia import tax protected domestic market. But never dropped tax when car maker folded.

I have great respect for you and the way you approach life and I have no doubt you're really honest saying you'd do it the same way, if money was not an issue. However, I also think that you are a bit biased by who you really are and you cannot put yourself completely in the mindset of someone for whom the money is plentiful. Maybe if you had billions you'd even have your own helicopter, or a yacht and a collection of motorcycles, because... why not?. My point is, that us, the majority, who work hard for our money, we have a different mindset than truly rich people and is really hard to say what we'd really do if we had lots of money.
All true Pavlin, the only thing if we did have this money would be to slow down the trips see as much as possible, stay longer in places we like, maybe take our partners with us.
If I were a multi-millionaire, I would take a narapat/masseur with me on the motorcycle trips as I have a bad, aching back, now life will be without motorcycle trips unfortunately but pretend I'm you Pavlin on a Tenere or Africa Twin 😔🇸🇪🏍️

As you say, the weight always matters. ln case, if you could afford yourself to sleep only in hotels and to use laundry, and you would like to do it, what was the weight and the volume of your luggage without all camping gear, cameras, and all you use in nature? I ask because I have road bike, and I don't camp.

Nice Video Pavlin. Nice Moto also. You also are a different actual around the world adventure motorcycle rider. Ok, as you know, I drive a 2015 F800 GS Adventure I bought second hand from a Uruguay Champion Motocross guy who lives in Altanitia Uruguay. Here, since we are doing this, why I like my GSA before it was an tablet with wheels. 1. The start up sequence with the gauges early in the morning on a cool morning before I am heading to Montevideo and back. Potentially to get "My dewd, to wax my junk" or ya know... Plus, the seat after said "Junk Waxing" makes it comfortable enough to ride home afterwards. Huh? Yes sometimes I just do it myself with one leg on the stool in the bathroom, don´t we all, but, sometimes its good to get "Pro Waxed" less tears. 2. I dig the Tenere, I would certainly drive one, its more offroad to be sure. I was actually out ripping around on the pasture yestrday beating in a walking path for my wife, and ya know... Its a street bike. Its like driving a Buick around out there. But, for getting to the beach with some trails. NICE. One can put lipstick on a pig, but... Its a street bike, I could put 50/50 tires on it, but who am I kidding for what I use it for. I should buy a dual sport for some of the local stuff, but, ya know. Dinero doesn't grow on trees... 3. Chicks dig it, including my wife. So... 4. Why I searched Uruguay for a GSA and why the dude I bought if from who has a number of motorcycles in this class, regularly calls me to see if he can buy it back. 24L of sloshing liquid gold, Go Juice, under my ass, with a low center of Gravity. I am not sure I want 23 Liters of that sloshing between my legs up high, particularly with some of the winds we get coming in off the South Atlantic. The zone of that 2008 to 2017 isn´t it? F800 GSAs... They are built for doing basically road based, some trail based, around the world moto touring. Plus I can do most of the work on it myself, and 90% of the parts for that 9 years of production, are the same on the GS and the GSA. Bigger Frame, Bigger tank, bigger seat, bigger front wheel. The motor is not electronically limited, spoked front wheel, the differece between the F700 and F800 series, not the F800 and F900 on the computer tablet with wheels make over. I think they blew past the sweet spot. That means for my casual style of riding, where I am based in the adventure and don´t have to travel to it... I dispatch ride stuff for my wifes school, often taking the back roads because, hey why not... Thus knowing the routes... ;) - Pavlin and I have offset not conjoined aspects of the market with South America we discuss outside of this. I can JUST, since I drive sensibly, make it from the house to Montevideo and back again, without running out of fuel. Which, winter, maybe there is a strike, or a gas shortage, or, its a holiday... I pull about 490 KM out of a tank. True what you are saying though, its not like I couldn't throw 5 extra leters in a jub on the back. But, I don´t have to and I dig that. 5. Groceries with the side hard bags. I don´t run a top center hard box, I sort of miss it, sort of don't. It depends for what. But, The secret of the BMW GS Adventure, is it is the closest thing to a Mini Van you can get on two wheels... I can load a whole lot of grociers in that, and lock the boxes so I can run into buy stuff in a few locations and get better prices by hitting the markets. Hey, you sit upright on it, pretty slick... Plus, Uruguay in winter, heated hand grips, best feature on the motorcycle. Its my actual car, that is the sort of rider I am. Locally around where I live, Seriously, KLR 650, but, I do so many runs to Montevideo dropping off and picking up papwerwork for the school, (Yeah, I slide that right into my activites in support of my wifes work, slick eh. You should see what I ride though to do that, if I take the back roads. It is outstanding.) Tenere, super nice, it was on my list. With the 23L, I don´t think so, yours is better. I don´t like they put the fuel up top again in the BMWs, past 2017, not on my list anymore. The KLR 650 doesn't have a 6th gear, or I would own one. Big single thumper or not. I know what I would do if I were you and I had some bucks big shooter. I would be forward basing and covering the stuff that is not in easy reach from Bulgaria. Anyhow, looking forward to seeing you when I see you, when you hit "The Other Down-Under" here in the Americas. The one with less big cats that the Other Other Down-Under, which is Southern Africa. We here in the Americas drive on the safe, sane and sensible proper side of the road, like in North America and most of the EU. Nothing against Southern Africa, but, some of the reasons for visiting there less Motorcycle based, due to the Big Cats. Far Less of a hazzard here in the "Other Down-Under". Ha, coined if first, greeting in Cape Town. Why I like watching Pavlin, he gives honest reviews. He doesn't pull to the side of the road and pretent to be in false Jeapardy for view. Bulgarian sensibilities. You can visit down here, despite your mother and wifes worries. Particularly in the MERCOSUR area. It will be interesting to see what Pavlin thinks, after he has done the loop here. I love my GS, for what its I use it for, that is why. I dig the Tenere also. Probably not with that 23L jerry can between my legs though, with the offshore winds we get from time to time. I also duck walk my motorcycle, why? Its way harder to get blown over by a big gust of wind, when the wind is up. There are less cool points to lose, when you aim low... Hero to zero in 2 seconds with a big gust, so... IDK, the new ones. Have you seen the typical riding video, Two dudes, on two motos, they drive 200 meters, pull up a trail, and "Compare ride modes and settings¨. Then return them to the dealer, go back to the garage, in the snow, sit on their motorcycle, rub it with a diaper, look at the poster on the wall of some sponsored guy with a chase team flying of a sand dune. Between that and the "200 meters off the side of the road, fake drama videos" or, "The poor planing, South America is not the EU for border crossing videos..." Large blocks of it are, IF, you have local plates and local insurance, just like the EU. If you had Bolivia plates on your moto in the EU, same thing changing countries. If you talk to an insurance broker, you can have insurance in... My insurance is valid in all of Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile, BEFORE I have to whats app my Insurance broker, and have that extended to other nations. Then they whats-app me back the policy I need, and I print it. There is LOTS of adventure, actual. It just probably isn't what you think. And, Pavin, that reminds me to ask MJ for what app she uses for Speed Cameras, its not driving fast, its missing a speed change when not familiar with the route. Then, that will be waiting for you at the border and, needless expense. Up North, no idea, I am really interested in seeing how your routing works out. 32 days until wheels up. I am excited for you. If you have more money . . . Travel with nothing! See Leon Logothetis travel diaries - he travels by motorcycle (season 1) with no money, then rewards people that help him along the way (funding schools, taxi, etc). Amazing stories (trailers on youtube).
Pavlin, can I ask you if you think the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 with 40 something horsepower is a good enough bike to travel with? Have you ridden this bike before ? They are about 200kg. Thanks
Himalayan is not about speed, but quite reliable (old version), easy to fix. New version (also 1-cylinder, but water cooled engine) rides better, but it is not yet proven by years of travel. Short-term reviews say it is good.

That’s all. Your title is misleading in sense that you are frugal and will remain frugal. Even if you receive $1mil sponsorship for bmw bike and support, you will be “lost”. You cannot force a man from your level to suddenly change to new level. And that’s totally okay. Live and let live.

I think that is not so fine. It is clear many people here agree with you, but that does not make it ok to mock “rich” group of riders. Ride cheap or ride luxurious is entirely nothing wrong. I often can see rich riders helping out poor riders with their expensive equipment. Then what? 😅😊❤. We all love riding …that’s the more important point.

I have great respect for you and the way you approach life and I have no doubt you're really honest saying you'd do it the same way, if money was not an issue. However, I also think that you are a bit biased by who you really are and you cannot put yourself completely in the mindset of someone for whom the money is plentiful. Maybe if you had billions you'd even have your own helicopter, or a yacht and a collection of motorcycles, because... why not?. My point is, that us, the majority, who work hard for our money, we have a different mindset than truly rich people and is really hard to say what we'd really do if we had lots of money.

All true Pavlin, the only thing if we did have this money would be to slow down the trips see as much as possible, stay longer in places we like, maybe take our partners with us.

As you say, the weight always matters. ln case, if you could afford yourself to sleep only in hotels and to use laundry, and you would like to do it, what was the weight and the volume of your luggage without all camping gear, cameras, and all you use in nature?
I ask because I have road bike, and I don't camp.

Ok, as you know, I drive a 2015 F800 GS Adventure I bought second hand from a Uruguay Champion Motocross guy who lives in Altanitia Uruguay. Here, since we are doing this, why I like my GSA before it was an tablet with wheels.
1. The start up sequence with the gauges early in the morning on a cool morning before I am heading to Montevideo and back. Potentially to get "My dewd, to wax my junk" or ya know... Plus, the seat after said "Junk Waxing" makes it comfortable enough to ride home afterwards. Huh? Yes sometimes I just do it myself with one leg on the stool in the bathroom, don´t we all, but, sometimes its good to get "Pro Waxed" less tears.
2. I dig the Tenere, I would certainly drive one, its more offroad to be sure. I was actually out ripping around on the pasture yestrday beating in a walking path for my wife, and ya know... Its a street bike. Its like driving a Buick around out there. But, for getting to the beach with some trails. NICE. One can put lipstick on a pig, but... Its a street bike, I could put 50/50 tires on it, but who am I kidding for what I use it for. I should buy a dual sport for some of the local stuff, but, ya know. Dinero doesn't grow on trees...
3. Chicks dig it, including my wife. So...

Why I searched Uruguay for a GSA and why the dude I bought if from who has a number of motorcycles in this class, regularly calls me to see if he can buy it back. 24L of sloshing liquid gold, Go Juice, under my ass, with a low center of Gravity. I am not sure I want 23 Liters of that sloshing between my legs up high, particularly with some of the winds we get coming in off the South Atlantic. The zone of that 2008 to 2017 isn´t it? F800 GSAs... They are built for doing basically road based, some trail based, around the world moto touring. Plus I can do most of the work on it myself, and 90% of the parts for that 9 years of production, are the same on the GS and the GSA. Bigger Frame, Bigger tank, bigger seat, bigger front wheel. The motor is not electronically limited, spoked front wheel, the differece between the F700 and F800 series, not the F800 and F900 on the computer tablet with wheels make over. I think they blew past the sweet spot.
That means for my casual style of riding, where I am based in the adventure and don´t have to travel to it... I dispatch ride stuff for my wifes school, often taking the back roads because, hey why not... Thus knowing the routes... ;) - Pavlin and I have offset not conjoined aspects of the market with South America we discuss outside of this. I can JUST, since I drive sensibly, make it from the house to Montevideo and back again, without running out of fuel. Which, winter, maybe there is a strike, or a gas shortage, or, its a holiday... I pull about 490 KM out of a tank. True what you are saying though, its not like I couldn't throw 5 extra leters in a jub on the back. But, I don´t have to and I dig that.
5. Groceries with the side hard bags. I don´t run a top center hard box, I sort of miss it, sort of don't. It depends for what. But, The secret of the BMW GS Adventure, is it is the closest thing to a Mini Van you can get on two wheels... I can load a whole lot of grociers in that, and lock the boxes so I can run into buy stuff in a few locations and get better prices by hitting the markets. Hey, you sit upright on it, pretty slick... Plus, Uruguay in winter, heated hand grips, best feature on the motorcycle.
Its my actual car, that is the sort of rider I am.
Locally around where I live, Seriously, KLR 650, but, I do so many runs to Montevideo dropping off and picking up papwerwork for the school, (Yeah, I slide that right into my activites in support of my wifes work, slick eh. You should see what I ride though to do that, if I take the back roads. It is outstanding.) Tenere, super nice, it was on my list. With the 23L, I don´t think so, yours is better. I don´t like they put the fuel up top again in the BMWs, past 2017, not on my list anymore. The KLR 650 doesn't have a 6th gear, or I would own one. Big single thumper or not.
I know what I would do if I were you and I had some bucks big shooter. I would be forward basing and covering the stuff that is not in easy reach from Bulgaria.
Anyhow, looking forward to seeing you when I see you, when you hit "The Other Down-Under" here in the Americas. The one with less big cats that the Other Other Down-Under, which is Southern Africa. We here in the Americas drive on the safe, sane and sensible proper side of the road, like in North America and most of the EU. Nothing against Southern Africa, but, some of the reasons for visiting there less Motorcycle based, due to the Big Cats. Far Less of a hazzard here in the "Other Down-Under". Ha, coined if first, greeting in Cape Town.
Why I like watching Pavlin, he gives honest reviews. He doesn't pull to the side of the road and pretent to be in false Jeapardy for view. Bulgarian sensibilities.
You can visit down here, despite your mother and wifes worries. Particularly in the MERCOSUR area. It will be interesting to see what Pavlin thinks, after he has done the loop here.
I love my GS, for what its I use it for, that is why. I dig the Tenere also. Probably not with that 23L jerry can between my legs though, with the offshore winds we get from time to time. I also duck walk my motorcycle, why? Its way harder to get blown over by a big gust of wind, when the wind is up. There are less cool points to lose, when you aim low... Hero to zero in 2 seconds with a big gust, so...
IDK, the new ones. Have you seen the typical riding video, Two dudes, on two motos, they drive 200 meters, pull up a trail, and "Compare ride modes and settings¨. Then return them to the dealer, go back to the garage, in the snow, sit on their motorcycle, rub it with a diaper, look at the poster on the wall of some sponsored guy with a chase team flying of a sand dune.
Between that and the "200 meters off the side of the road, fake drama videos" or, "The poor planing, South America is not the EU for border crossing videos..." Large blocks of it are, IF, you have local plates and local insurance, just like the EU. If you had Bolivia plates on your moto in the EU, same thing changing countries. If you talk to an insurance broker, you can have insurance in... My insurance is valid in all of Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile, BEFORE I have to whats app my Insurance broker, and have that extended to other nations. Then they whats-app me back the policy I need, and I print it.
There is LOTS of adventure, actual. It just probably isn't what you think. And, Pavin, that reminds me to ask MJ for what app she uses for Speed Cameras, its not driving fast, its missing a speed change when not familiar with the route. Then, that will be waiting for you at the border and, needless expense. Up North, no idea, I am really interested in seeing how your routing works out.

why I interject, ok, the whole loop, Hard Corps. The Southern End... Highly achievable with some planning, and particularly if people relocated temporarily or more permanently. With the wife, or with the husband, if the woman is the adventure rider, and all variations of that, it is 2024. Health Care, not such a big deal, Quality Hospitals, etc, but, do your own research. Which, can be difficult with some of the "False Drama Shows" people put on, because then "They can do it, and you(s) (Plural You, collective) Can't. The Readers I am touching around Pavin's business here, while not cutting his grass, or trying to change his opinions. The app my wife runs at all times when driving in areas where she is not sure where the speed cameras are is, "Radar Bot". I think its available on Apple Products and Android. I cleaned up the spelling in the long winded comment. But, I do write consultancy all day, so... Always a pleasure to make fun of "Los Britanicos" and associated nations who drive on the left, Mates. I am not a UK Citizen, but, I was employed by them for quite while, mostly in Central Africa.

Speed Camera do actually help make all of our vacation experiences safer... So, its not a bad thing to not have a stack of fairly expensive tickets to pay at the next border crossing, while your insurance company calls, and ups your rates. There are 45 zones, 60 Zones, 75 Zones, 90 Zones, and 110 Zones where we live, and... It depends, so... "Radar Bot" I highly recommend. it is not illegal, and its about keeping the roads safe for everyone, particularly in high tourist seasons which Pavlin is driving right into.

Pavlin, can I ask you if you think the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 with 40 something horsepower is a good enough bike to travel with? Have you ridden this bike before ? They are about 200kg. Thanks
I never ridden it and cannot say anything right now.
Himalayan is not about speed, but quite reliable (old version), easy to fix. New version (also 1-cylinder, but water cooled engine) rides better, but it is not yet proven by years of travel. Short-term reviews say it is good.
You might be set in your ways by now so more money won’t change your ways at this point
But I agree that the more does not mean the better it won’t make your vacation better

Your title is misleading in sense that you are frugal and will remain frugal. Even if you receive $1mil sponsorship for bmw bike and support, you will be “lost”. You cannot force a man from your level to suddenly change to new level.

@@motorcycleadventuresthat’s totally fine. Sometimes your comments and body language shows a bit of disdain for “wealthy” riders who ride differently or buy expensive assessories and you mock them. I think that is not so fine. It is clear many people here agree with you, but that does not make it ok to mock “rich” group of riders. Ride cheap or ride luxurious is entirely nothing wrong. I often can see rich riders helping out poor riders with their expensive equipment. Then what? 😅😊❤. We all love riding …that’s the more important point.
