The CVT Turbo is a hidden gem. We own this and a Skoda Slavia and we don't feel bad switching the cars which says a volume about the drive quality of Magnite. Also it looks great and comfortable with decent mileage (18-19 on higways) and 12 in city. We get 450-550km range and not 300km as per this video. I would not recommend anyone buying the underpowered non-turbo, especially the newly launched AMT.

I just bought the CVT Turbo Magnite fully loaded. I am thinking of upsizing only the tyres from the stock to R16 55 205. Please advise if the stock tyres are good enough. Thanks.

@@ussmissouri7646 I have the stock tyres 195/60 R16. I am not an expert if other tyre size will fit this and impact it will have on ride quality and mileage. Maybe talk to a tyre shop. Why you want to change to 205/55R16?

  • @pranabpradhan

The chrome strips around the fog lamps, the wireless charger and the JBL speakers are NOT stock, they are add-ons. The stock speakers though are pretty good in themselves.
The fuel computer gives a very very optimistic reading. The max that my Magnite's fuel computer shows is 29.9kmpl (I have the top manual turbo). I have learnt that this is very misleading, my actual figure averages around 17 in city, with a best of 20 plus, in Delhi, in my driving cycle. I've covered more than 7.5k km now. There are a couple of rattles from my left front door, but that's about it.
And yes, if you toggle the MID control buttons, you do get a range readout.
What I don't quite like are the big blocks on the digital fuel gauge. Each block, I have learnt over the past many months, represents approx 5L.
The TPMS works good without actual pressure readouts but that is fine. What I don't like is that a low pressure warning comes in only when the drop in pressures are more 15%. Rec pressures are 35, warnings come up only when pressure drops to 29-30 or lower.
Cruise control is not intuitive to ease.
Another miss here is that if you open the tail gate, all doors get unlocked, and there is no indication to that effect. One MUST remember to deliberately lock all doors - I've forgotten to do so a few times and that's risky for vehicle security. I thought it would unlock independent of the passenger doors (like that on my Nissan Sunny), and that's why the whole thing is unanticipated.
The front central armrest is too short for the driver, and in my driving position (I keep my seat at the highest), it's too low. And there could have been a storage box inside of it, but no complaints here.
The insides are quite premium, plush and clean. Absolutely no complaints about the plastics. Better than almost all cars in this segment, except probably the Sonet.
Ergonomics are nearly prefect. The steering wheel is perfectly designed and really good to hold esp at the 2 and 10 positions where the knobly projections are pleasantly flat behind the steering wheel, making the grip and support to the palm and fingers great. Seats are good, comfortably firm, and under thigh support is good.
The 360 camera's resolution (both of the 4 cameras and the screen) isn't too great and gets really blurry and pixelated in low light. But it's a great, great convenience and In simply love it. Though it without have been better if the camera control tap switch had been more responsive- it's at the best sluggish to just about ok. An additional right sided kerb view (in addition to the top down stitched view) for the right kerb (as is there on the left) would be really helpful.

    • @dheeraja5649

Punch has a 1.2 L NA engine with AMT transmission!! That is a bummer In comparison with the turbo CVT combo employed in magnite.. If you need power and performance, smooth gear shifts, magnite is the choice hands down.
May be the ride quality and other bits are better in punch, but for the higher variants it is not VFM.

Just a piece of advice, I have been hunting for automatic cars( for my father) in the last few weeks test drove TATA PUNCH it looks all good from the outside and inside. it is worthing mentioning riding position, rear seating, boot, and ground clearance is par good in this segment but when it comes to the soul(Engine) of the vehicle it lacks the calibration and misses to offer the punch at higher speed (I mean 80KMPH and above). Literally throttle to metal it was crying to go beyond the mentioned speed. This being AMT the gear changing is very evident( you can feel the gear changing), and loss of power is all along when it shifts the gear. though I have a soft corner for TATA MOTORS ( being an ex-TAMO engineer) still recommend checking the points I have mentioned above before buying.
When it comes to Automatic CVT is the best, and AMT is the cheapest ( DCT and Torque convertor are the most complex transmission and costlier). If Ground clearance is not the issue test drive Nios AMT which offers the best drive train calibration with a lighter steering response( know as a girly response among Hyundai folks), Maruthi cars as well.

    • @ajayrh4743
      @ajayrh4743 Рік тому

@@robtho3786 Hyundai worked on IVT just to improve their CVT failures mainly the fuel efficiency, (fuel efficiency increases when engine RPM is maintained in a specific range irrespective of the vehicle speed- they generally call it a sweet spot). sadly I haven't tried any IVT to this day. This technology looks good on paper from an efficiency standpoint. If I get a chance to test drive an IVT transmission I will test for quick overtaking/instant power at the throttle as and when I need. ( I have a strong feeling in order to keep up the efficiency-sweet spot. Hyundai has traded in for a slight power lag). If the use case (maximum commute) is city rides this might be the best proposition to go with IVT 👍👍.
