abi connick? more like ab-iconic!! how come this video was uploaded at the time that i was thinking of expanding to an agency but yes you made me realize that that’s not really what i want right now. this video was so timely! you have no idea how much your contents help me. keep creating videos like this, abi! you’re changing lives 💕
Your attention to detail and ability to make everything feel like magic is such a blessing to those around you 🥺Thank you for shining your light in the world and for being so positive and being so sweet! Can’t wait to watch 🍂 Appreciate you so much 💕
I remember reading this agency newsletter and I felt the same!! Everyone always assume you want an agency. I actually did an internship for a in house design studio and omg that put me off for life!! As always thank you for your amazing videos abi you’re smashing it!!

Abi, i relate so heavily to the emotions of not being good enough, not knowing my style and my fear of the unknown or the risks that come with working for yourself. I really vibe with your honesty and the transparency. I also am here for the romance! I love that your partner stepped in to guide you into your next steps to ensure you were in alignment with your vision. Legit this week I've been experiencing similar feelings with social media and design comparison or journey comparison. It's hard to realize that we dont need to compare or feel bad, when we don't have context.
No one explain every detail, i don't know how i was missed this video, you have answered all of my question. i have no words how i thanks you. < Respect from Pakistan>

You are SO engaging to watch...it makes me EXCITED to open AI. So glad you took the risk!!! Thanks for sharing and being in the design education space! 🤗
Ma'am your flow of work your way of working looks amazing I always go through your videos before any packaging design, keep growing keep helping Thank you, love from India
Thank you, glad you enjoy the video 😊 Yes! I think sometimes it just takes someone who isn't so involved or close to the situation to sit you down and tell you how they see it from the outside! it really helped me gain clarity on the whole situation!
Totally resonate with your argument about limitation. I've been feeling the same about myself lately as a designer. Multimedia was my major, in my arsenal I have expertise with video editing, graphic design, 3D modelling, photography etc. In my line of work, I primarily only use Photoshop and Illustrator for simple things. It honestly feels like I'm not using my full potential and even if I tried to suggest them projects with higher heights, it would be declined because of "time". Most, if not all projects, have to be handed in 2 hours upon it being briefed. I don't even have time to conceptualise, let alone open Blender and start cooking. I genuinely love combining 3D with graphic design, it's work I look back and I'm proud of. As it stands now, I can't say the same with my job.
Your videos are definitely inspiring. I switched careers after 13 years into Design (finally) and have a solid sturdy full time job but am not wanting to lose any skills and I want to improve the ones I didn't/don't get to do very much. I landed a graphic design production job - which I am very thankful for - but it is not "design" to me. Your videos definitely want me to keep working at it and using skillshare/briefbox/etc to grow those skills!
Lately, I'm confused about whether I should swerve to learn new things from 0 like programming because I feel my design career is stuck, and you opened my mind
Thanks for this Abi! I just love your content. Tbh i'm still struggling but you've triggered something, and gave it a name - fear. Even better you gave some helpful tips to overcome that, so now its time for me to get to work - thank you!

Hey Abi 🙋🏽♂️ Your journey is inspiring and your videos are very informative. Can you please present a basic roadmap to be a graphic designer as a beginner 😇
It will be better if you get into any paid course first...because there are many principles that you need to be guided to by any professional. Once you get trained by any professional designer, you can improve yourself by watching UA-cam videos and other free stuffs...
Funny that you say this - coz I am soooooo new in the design space and I don't feel like I do good enough work or so... But also having such a less following I feel like I have seen a much less engagement when I have had my face out there (meaning like who is she and why should I care about her particularly when she doesn't really have any credibility too). SO i kind of just made the switch to post more of solely design content alone and keep my face out of the page lol. I’d really recommend watching this video here: ua-cam.com/video/91FQKciKfHI/v-deo.html it take about how at the start of your creative journey you never like your work but that’s just part of the process 😊
Hi Abi - can i ask a quick question? - 99 designs is a website where designers compete against each other to win the brief and the money at the end right? - can you suggest any other sites like that? - as someone with no work out there yet whatsoever, would you recommend this as a way of building a portfolio of work? (sorry im new to this!)
Hey 👋designbro.com/ is a good one, but you have to have a certain standard of work, they also pay all finalists not just the one that gets chosen! Any work is a great way of building a portfolio, the main thing is that you're getting your practice in!
Hi, I’m Milo a French content creator about webdesign, I need some advices 😅 I really love your content so much that I want to switch and become graphic designer after 6 years 😂 Your works inspire me a lot, so I will come back to my main topic, I worked so much to create content with my instagram account for 1 year and my blog in 2023. Hey Milo 👋 I'd recommend staying patient, nothing ever good came from giving up! But staying patient doesn't mean doing the same things and expecting different results, if you're not growing as much as you'd like, take a look at your strategy, commit to learning more about marketing, social media, and creating content! Always be trying to improve and become better, if you commit to that, then you'll achieve anything you want! 😊
