I bought a GibsonLes Paul from peach because they spent time in putting up photos of the actual guitars for sale on their website , due to lockdown we cant visit the shop , lots of other shops didn't bother taking pictures and are just shipping boxes
They’re using the old school aniline dies that they used on bursts back on the day. It will fade into the proper color over time. It’s very UV sensitive, that’s also why the tops faded so so much in 58-59
What tickles me is the aged cases. My guitars hang on the wall and I have half a room full of cases. I have road cases for gigs. I've spent years trying to keep them clean...And now I realize I should have left them in the Florida sun and mold!
What's the guitar at 29 mins? Sounds like you are describing the 59 reissue VOS but then you are saying it's handpicked and slightly more expensive than standard. Details please. I'm interested.
I just got a 2021 Gibson 58' MLA Burbon Burst (Ultra Light) yesterday. Amazingly light and a perfect setup, right out of the box. One of the best guitars I've ever had the privilege of playing. I am not in love with the guitar case. It just doesn't seem very sturdy or well built. Really perplexing considering the price of what its suppose to protect. My 2020 Gibson LP Goldtop STD and Heritage H150 have much better, more sturdy cases. When I first took it out of the box, the guitar was actually moving slightly inside the case. I cringe thinking it shipped that way. I opened it up and there's a little pink pillow under the headstock. I took that and put it on top of the guitar bridge and that seemed to remedy most of the moving. There seems to be way too much wiggle room for the guitar, vertically (up and down?) Putting the pillow on top gave it a bit more support. Maybe that pillow is supposed to be on the base of the guitar. It didn't ship that way. And no trust rod wrench/tool to be found. Every Gibson I've purchased the past 15 years has had a truss rod wrench. Are they really shipping custom shops like this? My Goldtop came with a really nice tool AND a strap. I know it seems a little petty but I thought that was one if the perks of getting a guitar like a Custom Shop. The fine details...even the case. I'm probably going to end up getting an aftermarket case. Carrying this thing just doesn't instill a ton if confidence. Just thought I'd share, wondering if anyone else had the same experience.
So I believe there was SUPPOSED to be a small, round, cushion (I'm seeing it in this video and pics of the case online). That is supposed to be placed on top of the body when closing the lid. Which keeps the guitar secure in the case. Mine did not come with that🤨. Contacting the dealer...
