    Even when I do this I still have weird, sticky (probably from hair products) lint stuff wrapped around the bottom of each bristle. I can grab the thing and pull it upwards, but then it gets stuck at the round ball thing at the top of the bristles. I have to use tweezers and a scalpel to get them off and that takes forever.

    • @naz7588
      @naz7588 8 років тому +107

      it is easier to remove them once the brush is wet

    • @AnnaKaize
      @AnnaKaize 8 років тому +581

      +naz7588 But the effing plastic ball things are still preventing me from removing the sticky stuff that btw turns all gooey and icky when wet. I guess I'll just shave my head.

      loll! oh I did not try to pull it from the top, grab it with the tips of your fingers or nails and pull it appart instead like kind of in a horizontal way.

    • @kaena011

      The base looked clean but there was still fluff caught on the tips. That will soak up oil and product, I think that brush should be replaced. The frayed edges will snag on hair losing more hair than necessary.

    What I normally do is soak my brushes in the sink with baby shampoo or inexpensive shampoo like VO5 for a few minutes. Then I rub two brushes together (bristles against bristles). It deep cleans each brush and balls up the hair for you. Allowing you to easily pick out one hairball from two brushes. 😀

I should have known. The answer to cleaning almost anything is use a toothbrush. I keep one in the kitchen for specifically that reason.

  • @Appleita
    @Appleita 8 років тому +4

    The way I do it is to pull the hairs out of the brushes and then run hot water in a bowl big enough to hold all my combs and brushes Add some water softener and a tiny bit of dish soap and let it soak for about 10 minutes. Then swish it all around and everything should be loosened from the brushes and combs. If anything is still clinging you can use a toothbrush or the bristles of a hairbrush to get it. But usually I don't need to do anything more. Rinse and stand them in a glass or cup to air dry.

  • @2029killtime
    @2029killtime 2 роки тому +1

    After seeing comments of complaints. I found a much better way instead. It’ll save you all that micro energy trying so hard. What I did instead was use a spoolie brush (brow/lash brush). Its thin enough to get in between the isles of bristles much easier without splashing water everywhere. You want to go horizontally across the bristles NOT vertically towards the head of the bristle or else the lint will be stuck there.
    Also instead of just brushing the wet lint it actually collects it, so you won’t need tweezers like a lot of the comments.
    Also use a microfiber cloth to dry as much of the water in the hairbrush, then follow with 1min of a hairdryer.
    It shall be perfectly dried :)
    If this helped you I hope you can help someone else in anyway 🖖🏻

    I use a rat tail comb after soaking mine in hot water and shampoo. I use the metal tail part of the comb and wiggle the old hair and product build up right off. It helps if you soak the brush in hot soapy water for 5 to 10 mins to loosen everything up

  • @kelli744

    There a much easier way to clean your hair brushes! Remove as much of the hair that is left in your brush. Use Hot water just about as hot as you can get it add some baking soda place your brushes in to soak for about 10 minutes sprinkle a little baking soda on the bristles of your brush and let it sit to soak. After 10 minutes take it out and rinse well and your good to go. No scrubbing involved!

    it would be a great idea to make a video about how to clean an apartment you just rent, especially when someone used to live there. it's not that easy as we think. I rent a new apartment a few months ago. at first glance it was quite clean. but when we started cleaning we found out it was soooo dirty. we were cleaning three whole days. I doubt the previous owner had ever cleaned it.

I wish them to overcome this situation and get well soon! you seem to be a strong girl who tries to help her family and keep a house clean. but trust me, the previous owner was just really messy and dirty. she was living on her own. the house was black from the dirt. we moved the sofas and we found tones of pet hair, pet poop (!), rotten dog food(inside her dog's food) and many more disgusting things. when you leave a house, you have to clean it. it's a matter of respect!

    I take the hair off each time after I’m done brushing but when there’s enough build up (the small lint balls that form at the base of the bristles) I take the time and just pull each one off cuz I still haven’t found a faster way of removing them yet. It takes a little over 15 min for me to get each bristle clean.

    The way I do it is clean the hair out of the brush with my fingers as good as I can and then toss the brush by itself into the washing machine with some detergent and bleach on hot water. The bleach dissolves the hair. Some fuzz may be left, but it's Clean Fuzz. The bristles and inner brush are very clean - all product and oils washed away.

Brush through your hair when using the first application of shampoo, when washing hair. Rinse under tap. Job done. (Also ensures it is cleaned every time you wash your hair.)

    I just take a comb and brush it through while running warm water then I put some soap on it and comb and clean it afterwards. Has worked pretty well.

    Brush it with a very thin comb under the hot water tap or shower with shampoo and it gets very clean anyway. I always have very long hair and used different types of brushes for last 45 years of my life and never needed to use teeth brush for them and they are always very clean. You should keep your brush always very clean.

    If your hair tangles easily, the reason is probably because your brush is dirty and as you use it, all the sticky gunk (oil from your hair+dust) sticks to your hair, and it creates tangles. I used this technique to wash my comb and brushes, and they are squeaky clean now, and my hair has been more manageable this week. I definitely recommend cleaning your brushes regularly (at least once a week), you only need a toothbrush and some shampoo.

    I just use a wide toothed detangler comb and rake it over the brush. Takes 2 seconds. When it's gunky, I throw it in the dishwasher.

    with respect to YOU. as I look at this video. there is so much I need to show you about how to clean. you have good ideas BUT a lot of them need to be readjusted. and made simpler for people. Exp : fold as you take them out of the Dryer, because you will leave the full bag on the bed, chair etc. clean off the dishes before putting in dishwasher. let your pot soak for awhile .also put water in the sink with a little bit of javex or vinegar to disinfect all etc. PS you do have many great ideas. I'm a clean and organized mature women. 😊Thank You for listening.

    I first spray a vinegar solution (vinegar+water in a spray bottle) onto my big hair brush, then cleanse the brush with a disposable earbud, then wash with abit of soap /shampoo /or fairy.

    Just 1. pull out as much hair as you can 2. place in a bowl of very hot soapy water and let it sit for 5-10 minutes to loosen up the lint 3. pinch each bristle and pull the lint up easily, entire brush should take like 3 minutes. it's not that bad

  • @xiuehe

    for me i personally used the bottom of a toothpick, a tiny bit of my hands, and a towel to get off majority of the hair (toothpick was for icky wet dandruff on the bottom of the brush)
