@ironmountainrotts... I agree. The np435 is an awesome trans. With it's 6.68:1 (Ford version) granny gear it can idle over a mountain. I have one in my'78 F150 with a 390fe.
The ford lift is stock highboy, well I have two pieces of spring on the perches, so maybe an extra inch? then I just cut the edges of the wheel well to fit the 39.5x18x r16.5's

oh nice ya i got a 1978 f150 ranger and i got 7 inch lift 3 inch body and 4 inch suspention with 35's and i wanna goto 38's so i think i should fit them no problem

I run a T18 transmission in my jeep with a 6:38 first gear..mine is the ford version

Hey, I have a 77 highboy, and have heard that 37 inch tires can fit with out any mods. From you expanse do you they would fit with out rubbing?
