I’d be more inclined to be understanding about the delays if USPS hadn’t lied and tried to hide everything from the getgo- I’m an ecommerce seller that’s submitted claims on all of my late packages- it’s almost comical that each one they respond to gets a different reason: Inclement weather, holiday delays, or my fav- “it’s in transit”. 100% BS. Then they mark the cases “resolved” when they haven’t even bothered to find where it is. They even told one of my customers it was late because I DIDN’T SEND IT. If they’d been honest or allowed their employees to be honest, I wouldn’t even be in this situation- or I could’ve at least warned by buyers before they purchased. But they wanted us to keep buying their service so they lied. And if they weren’t so determined to keep everything secret, then they likely could’ve come up with a solution before now. Raise your hand if you think the congressman would’ve done something to help fix this issue if we’d known about it.

When I filed my claim it updated as if the issue had been resolved. Total lies! If USPS had been having issues way back in Nov. Dec., why not be forthcoming with that ℹ️ information so that consumers could choose an alternative route for shipping? I call it all BS.
Just curious, not being in the Houston area anymore, And Yes it's a BIG inconvenience, take All the packages outside of the area serviced by Missouri processing center, College Station, Huntsville, Beaumont?
Most of that mail doesn't go thru the processing centers, it's delivered directly to offices. And when it does go thru processing centers, it can go straight to being routed since it's pre-processed.

USPS pricing structure is outdated. The PRC (postal regulatory commision) didnt allow the usps to raise rates past the rate of inflation. Basically severely limiting how much they can raise the price to ship / mail. So as everything else went UP, as im sure you can tell... Postal rates simply did not keep up for the last 10 years. All in all USPS now has more flexinility in their pricing structure, and since its a government agency that isnt funded through tax payers, and through the sale of postage/ shipping, it must adapt to the times to cover costs.

USPS in North Houston and Missouri City is a complete mess with mail delays over 4 weeks now. They need to sort this out ASAP since people depend on mail for so many important messages from the government, banks, IRS, etc Plus, how can businesses function if USPS is not processing packages?

Lots of planning and logistics goes into the planning. After all, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out if the machine will fit in through the building opening or not?

"Its backed up" so that's why even though it showed my package at north Houston facility. It ended up going to Dallas. I think they're sending elsewhere out of the way on purpose.
After the sorting machines were removed. After the appt of the guy who had no expertise It was the beginning of delays on Northside and thats beginning of problems
My little brother, is in charge of some of those machines. Here in my community. And it seems as though, they had an issue, with somebody sending, thousands of nuts and bolts through the machines. Almost as if, somebody intentionally sabotaged it. He told me, in 3 weeks time, they took over 500 random, nuts and bolts out of it. And not a single one of them fell out of the machine.
They've managed to lose and/or misplace 3 of my pkgs in the last 6 weeks. One at the Missouri City location and 2 at N. Hou. At least I received the latest one 13 days AFTER the N. Hou location scanned it in!! Missouri City rec'd one of mine TWICE & initially sent it to DENVER. Yup, that's what the half the postal price increases are for...... transportation for misdirected packages. Why deliver a parcel that goes to the Houston area, when it's received in said area, when it can travel the country in hope that'll it'll make it BACK to the Houston area. Albeit LATE LATE LATE. They managed to lose a large pkg completely. Fortunately that one was insured. How do they lose a LARGE box? It's not a letter! I have 2 family members that drive trucks and have delivered to USPS down here. Both report total incompetence. Employees not working & refusing to unload the mail from the trailers. One family member reported when they came in the employees were literally dancing on TOP OF THE MACHINES & having an impromptu concert. Yup, any other job and they'd clean house. Not USPS though. Smh
My wife is having some trouble with getting some important information from her bank and I'm still waiting for my W-2 to come in so I can file my taxes I hope they can get this matter fixed so that people can get their mail and packages delivered to their homes
I sent a package full of goods on December 8, 2023 to Indianapolis from North Carolina and the package is lost. USPS has made it nearly impossible for me to file a complaint or claim online. I have been contacted by a USPS employee who said I would be sent a claim form to fill out but that has not happened yet. I was also informed that I need to send the claim no more than 60 days after mailing the package so I have 8 days left. I have a feeling the claim form will not arrive withing that time frame. This is terrible and USPS should not be able to get away with such incompetence.
This is all the fault of Louis DeJoy, the man who was installed as a Trump loyalist at the last moment. When he was appointed he immediately started dismantling sorting machines. It's amazing how people have short memories. His excuse was that the machines weren't necessary and immediately after, this happened right as the mail in ballets were to come in. He was installed to slow down and halt the delivery of the ballets.
The problem with the Post Office is that nobody can be fired for incompetence. There is no accountability anywhere in the system, therefore don't expect any improvement in performance, because it isn't going to happen.
The USPS Management have a Golden Rule that supercedes all others. This is a fact! Management has the Right with no penalties to be assessed, to Mismanage. They have cut the worker work force in half the last 5 years. Not one Manager or Supervisor position has been reduced.

It took these folks 11 days to deliver a letter 100 miles away. They should not get a damn day off until this mess is fixed, they try and run it like private company but without the constrains... We send billions to other countries and we can not get our own infrastructure fix... VOTNG MATTERS PEOPLE and this is how incompetence's thrives!

I have had more items go into limbo in the past couple of months than ever before and right now I have one item that has been "moving through the network" for over a week. Fortunately it isn't anything critical. I will probably start telling sellers I will pay any upcharge to ship something I by UPS or FedEx until this gets resolved.

They use contractors with their own private trucks. Guaranteed there's not one of them that would let one of their trucks sit there for more than an hour.
I have been waiting since July 25th 2024 I intercepted my package and the last scan said it's at northern Texas wear house and has not moved and then August 15th 2024 I did a missing package alert and still not have heard or seen it move. I have been calling usps and consumers affairs in Texas and noo call back or anything

At the end of my career, I was a postmaster of an office with hardly any staff and had news outlets in the area contacting me for information over delayed deliveries. Even my superior was barred from discussing such matters, as was their boss. All enquiries were directed elsewhere.

Sounds like this upgrade wasn't planned nor executed very well. And to make matters worse, they lied in order to cover it up. Once they realized that there were problems, they should have issued an open and honest statement along with a solid time estimate of when operations would return to normal. Such would have been the right and respectable thing to do.....

I've been waiting for a package that was supposed to arrive almost 4 weeks ago and it was stuck "In Transit" to the North Houston Distribution Center for almost a week and a half. I got worried enough that I submitted a service request on the phone to help find it and I actually got a call from my local post office a few days later telling me that it's not lost but it was stuck in "processing" for a little too long. Then just last night I got a tracking update telling me that it just arrived at my local post office and I figured that I would drive there to pick it up myself since I was fed up with all of it. Then I get there and the black lady at the register tells me that it's actually in Missouri City currently in transit to my local post office. As soon as it gets there, Im picking it up as soon as possible. I still don't have it yet but I guess Im lucky enough that my package actually escaped the distribution center. 😅😅😅
I first noticed this over Thanksgiving. My package took 3 weeks to get from Chicago to my local post office. I didn't even care about getting it anymore and emailed the company for a refund. I chalked it up to it being a major shipping holiday. THEN it happened with some seed packets. Both ended up at the same processing center yet only one got delivered on time. The other one? Week or so later. My latest package arrived just yesterday after being delayed 6 days. What's funny is that I managed to get in contact with a post office an hour away that got my mail; she told me the same exact thing this video did almost a month ago and a half ago. I didn't know how bad it was until I watched this video. I'm now swearing off USPS in every possible way. UPS and FedEx have never given me issues. Seriously, changing machines in DECEMBER? The USPS is now literally a joke. This can't be more comical.

We used to sort the packages by employees without machines, why can’t the people do that now until everything settles? And it was never looked terrible like that. Carriers are working 12 and 15 hour shifts and getting paid for EIGHT! because that is their contract and it will never change because CONGRESS has to approve everything. These folks have been getting pounded for years since amazon started and not getting paid ONE CENT extra. I retired 2 years ago and barely got out with my sanity intact. C'mon down if you think you can do better! and oh, by the way, the Postmaster General DEJOY is the one mandating the consolidation of these sorting areas, and he was appointed by T-rump and his cronies to KILL the post office. As a postal employee I don't agree. We the employees manually and physically work quicker than the machines. You as a civilian haven't been within the inside of the plant to know exactly how the process works or whose actually pushing the mail through!
During the peak season we have actually worked 7 days a week 12-16 hr shifts! Some employees have worked 4-6 weeks straight through without taking any days off!
Since when has a civilian from the outside ever been granted the privilege to walk into a postal plant and witnessed the operations from within🤔 don't blame the employees blame your Congress officials for allowing DeJoy to come up with his plan! I have been waiting since July 25th 2024 I intercepted my package and the last scan said it's at northern Texas wear house and has not moved and then August 15th 2024 I did a missing package alert and still not have heard or seen it move. I have been calling usps and consumers affairs in Texas and noo call back or anything

At the end of my career, I was a postmaster of an office with hardly any staff and had news outlets in the area contacting me for information over delayed deliveries. Even my superior was barred from discussing such matters, as was their boss. All enquiries were directed elsewhere.

Sounds like this upgrade wasn't planned nor executed very well. And to make matters worse, they lied in order to cover it up. Once they realized that there were problems, they should have issued an open and honest statement along with a solid time estimate of when operations would return to normal. Such would have been the right and respectable thing to do.....

I've been waiting for a package that was supposed to arrive almost 4 weeks ago and it was stuck "In Transit" to the North Houston Distribution Center for almost a week and a half. I got worried enough that I submitted a service request on the phone to help find it and I actually got a call from my local post office a few days later telling me that it's not lost but it was stuck in "processing" for a little too long.
Then just last night I got a tracking update telling me that it just arrived at my local post office and I figured that I would drive there to pick it up myself since I was fed up with all of it.
Then I get there and the black lady at the register tells me that it's actually in Missouri City currently in transit to my local post office. As soon as it gets there, Im picking it up as soon as possible.
I still don't have it yet but I guess Im lucky enough that my package actually escaped the distribution center. 😅😅😅
They've been telling me my package left the Missouri City for 4 days and today I find out it's still there. They are lying to us.

I first noticed this over Thanksgiving. My package took 3 weeks to get from Chicago to my local post office. I didn't even care about getting it anymore and emailed the company for a refund. I chalked it up to it being a major shipping holiday. THEN it happened with some seed packets. Both ended up at the same processing center yet only one got delivered on time. The other one? Week or so later. My latest package arrived just yesterday after being delayed 6 days. What's funny is that I managed to get in contact with a post office an hour away that got my mail; she told me the same exact thing this video did almost a month ago and a half ago. I didn't know how bad it was until I watched this video. I'm now swearing off USPS in every possible way. UPS and FedEx have never given me issues. Seriously, changing machines in DECEMBER? The USPS is now literally a joke. This can't be more comical.
Why do they decided to replace the new machine during the busy season? Before they replace it don’t they have the engineering to come to do the measurements for the facility? We used to sort the packages by employees without machines, why can’t the people do that now until everything settles? And it was never looked terrible like that. So many wrong things going on at those facilities. The biggest problem is the people they don’t even care, if humans work anywhere with your heart then it wouldn’t happen like that. 😢

Carriers are working 12 and 15 hour shifts and getting paid for EIGHT! because that is their contract and it will never change because CONGRESS has to approve everything. These folks have been getting pounded for years since amazon started and not getting paid ONE CENT extra. I retired 2 years ago and barely got out with my sanity intact. C'mon down if you think you can do better! and oh, by the way, the Postmaster General DEJOY is the one mandating the consolidation of these sorting areas, and he was appointed by T-rump and his cronies to KILL the post office. Guess what? it is working.

Point: making those changes to the sorting system in the middle of the busiest time of the year for the Postal Service is logistically STUPID. Dejoy likely had something to do with it. Same thing happened in Tampa Ybor city processing but they steal items. My friend works for them , half the mellenius don’t show up, but they still have a job the next day.

If you go into a post office generally they work very slow, this fact goes for most federal jobs.
As a postal employee I don't agree. We the employees manually and physically work quicker than the machines. You as a civilian haven't been within the inside of the plant to know exactly how the process works or whose actually pushing the mail through!
During the peak season we have actually worked 7 days a week 12-16 hr shifts! Some employees have worked 4-6 weeks straight through without taking any days off!
Since when has a civilian from the outside ever been granted the privilege to walk into a postal plant and witnessed the operations from within🤔 don't blame the employees blame your Congress officials for allowing DeJoy to come up with his plan! You voted them and him in. Now that disasters are piling up throughout postal plants you want to cry wolf!
