The sliding panels is a great addition. Finally some actual innovation.
Found your channel looking for info on the olight balder s. Really enjoyed your video. Well spoken and very informative. Thank you
I have been tinkering with putting a light/ laser combo for my EDC, but the more I see your review I am thinking of my home defense pistol. The laser I like since it’s possible for some hard corners being an obstruction to aim so pointing and shooting with a laser sure improves target acquisition. The light though really makes it much better to identify friend from foe. I just made my 1st Glock purchase last month on a Glock 19 Gen 5 that I got for home defense. Was using my Hellcat to pull double duty so this is a perfect addition to the Glock and have it serve its purpose.
Blue laser works for daylight. If you can't see the laser on the target then they are too far away for a pistol anyway.
Olight Balder S is on my G19 so far so good over 150 rounds through this sets screws really hold the light in place..$66 bucks with flash sale and 20 promo code.
I have one of the older models in my Glock 17 and my wife Glock 34 . I also have few other Olight flashlights and they work for me . If I get the one you giving away I definitely will change the one on mine for that one . There is a lot of people that hate Olight , not me . Have a Blessed day 🇺🇸🙏🏻.
Absolutely the best review I have ever watched, for several reasons! Thank you!
I put mine on my HK P2000 I use for home defense and so far I'm loving it.
I have this unit and I prefer it over my Streamlight TLR1-HL. It's not quite as bright but more than adequate. I tested the battery life with just the light on high and it runs for 45 minutes which should be plenty. I find the laser to be plenty bright for any light at pistol engagement distances. To me the main advantages of the Olight is its size, rechargeable battery, the flexible mounting system and also the price.
Your video was amazingly informative. I would have had to have watched several videos to get all the information you offered in just one. Thanks
I have half a dozed Olight products and I do like them. I really like the mini BALDR on my suppressed M&P Compact .22 pistol for discrete critter control at night. However, on my serious use guns, I only trust Surefire and Streamlight. I use Surefire Scouts on my long guns and Streamlight TRLHL’s on pistols exclusively. Not crapping on those that feel differently, it’s just how I roll.
I run a Beretta 92FS without a rail, so don't think I want this light, I suspect someone else could get more use out of it. But, wanted to say thanks for the videos and content. I really appreciate your effort.
I’d put it on my Staccato c2 duo if it ever shows up!! Been waiting on it what seems like forever.
You going to put an Olight on a staccato....
@@Big6Duke at the time of this comment i didn’t have a light planned for it. It’s now wearing a TLR-7
Thanks for the straight forward info and Thanks for all you do for so many. I would mount and try this on a Springfield 45XD Tactical. But I agree with your assessment and experience with the RDS platforms.
Great channel very informative. I am going to purchase the balder s while it is on sale & wouldn’t mind getting another for my son-in-law who is new to shooting sports & just purchased a sig p320
I’d put it on my G19mos. I don’t have a compact light yet, so that would be nice to have. Thanks for the offer John!
love olights. the mounts are perfect instead of a plain screw. i would put one of these on my VP9. i have the baldr mini's on my glocks and all i do is align the lasers to my red dots and i'm good to go.
Was going to ask how it holds zero after being removed and reinstalled, but you covered that at @25:30 - Thanks!
As always, Thanks for the honest opinion! I think for the price it's a good option for my everyday carried Glock 19.
Taurus G3C . It'll definitely be worth it for night time drills
So glad I found your review! I am considering this to replace an Insight XML on the XD9 that’s my night-stand gun. The XML is so dim that I’ve looked for LED bulb replacements and haven’t found any. So… I tossed it in favor of the Harries technique. This Olight, even with its drawbacks, would be a worthy upgrade for the XML in a role where it’s battery life would not likely be tested. Thanks for the thorough review!
Very informative review. Would like to mount this to my xdm elite 3.8. Because 1) need a white light, 2) don't have a cut slide to mount a red dot and 3) I think it would be a great training aid. The laser would be very useful to diagnose antipating the shot and trigger pull problems.
I will put on my beretta px4 storm 40s&w
I’ve got a CZ P10-S that I carry AIWB. I’ll be looking to this light because there really not many options and it seems like a great value. O-Light is better than NO-Light.
I'd put it on my P320 that I keep for home defense. It's one of the original "carry" configurations, but I've added an X-compact grip.
Hi John, love your videos. I’ve learned a great deal watching and appreciate your reviews! As for the Olight, if I won I’d mount it on my recover rail on my G43x. Thanks and keep up the great videos.
I have the mini on my G-19 gen 5 MOS. I love it so far. Perfect size and the mini has the green laser as well. I think a laser is a good idea in some situations.
Its going on my xd40 subcompact! Both are 2 great budget options in their fields.
One thing i would tell people is that its only 800 lumens for the first 60 seconds or however long..after that it goes automatically to 300 lumens for the rest of the 4 hours of run time left
I’d put it on my Cz P10s, love the gun. Nice review
My glock gen 5 mos.
It’s my baby with a threaded barrel, PMM comp and looking to get a RDS and a holster.
Great review, I got quite a lot out of it. I have both an M17 and an M18 both running Baldor mini’s. I’d love to win one of these so I can pass one of the Mini’s on to my nephew.
I dont mind having a laser on my pistol. I wear glasses and have poor vision without them and i like the idea of a least seeing a green dot as to where my pistol is pointed in the event my glasses come off.
I do get your notifications, but your other videos don't appear in the recommended videos on the sidebar. I would put the BALDER S On my wife's Ruger SR9. It's her bedside gun and 800 lumens would be a good upgrade for the light that's on it now.
It works great on my caulk gun.
When is your next olight giveaway??
My lights have been lacking. I definitely need to upgrade. I'd put it on my new 320.
I want to put one on my Hellcat but I can’t find a holster that will fit it.
On the tikka ctr, good addition to my MDT ESS.. You say pistol only.. Phh I say that's only a suggestion.
That light would look great on a Hi-Point Carbine!
It would fit on my ruger 57 with the alien gear holster cut for a o light and my optic.
Looks good on that M17! But I'd put it on my M&P 9mm!! I have PL pro on my XD mod.2 .45 and it's badass!
Hey Devil Dog, this would be a perfect Christmas present for my younger brother and his new sig P230. I am also considering one for my new glock 45 MOS.
I'll put it on my Grand Power X-Caliber to replace the Streamlite TLR-3 that currently resides on it.
what is the holster for Olight BALDR-S
I would love to add it to my Walther PDP. I don't own any laser or red dots and would be great to learn how to use it.
Noticed the US Marine Corp sticker in the background..Wouldnt you just love to give away to a fellow Devil Dog OOh-RAHH Semper Fi
I'd give it a go on my MP9. Looks to be a decent wizbang ,fun to try out
If I won it, I’d put it on my carry Springfield XD-S as it’s one of the only lights (and probably the best) on the market that will fit on it’s subcompact rail 🤘🏽
Got an old xd9 that I would love to see that on.
Considering adding to p80 pf940CL build or Sig p365XL with rail adapter.
Probably put it on my yeet cannon G1 for maximum tactical functions and home protection!
Will it fit snug and secure on the sig p226 curved proprietary rail?
I really wish sig would stop making this dumb rail, nothing fits on it without scratching it apparently...
What’s the “high-beam” or 800 lumen run time on the Baldr s?
Olight w/ laser beam, skinny jeans, dance around on a range ...bitch I operate!
I will put it on my Sar9
Nice vids as always. For a Sig P320 compact.
A laser/light is perfect for a bedside handgun. I'd stick it on my M&P9 which rests in the nightstand while I sleep.
I would put it on any 1911, Beretta 92, or Sig P320 for any kind of duty or carry use!🇺🇲🦅🇺🇲🦅🇺🇲
I’d throw it on my Sig P226 Stainless Elite. Mostly because it’s just a fun range toy. I live in Illinois and I’m pretty sure lasers on carry guns turn them into significantly more shooty evil assault pistols 😂 😂 so I’m going to opt to leave my G-19 alone.
Regarding Lucas, I think that’s where a lot of guys lose him. kid can shoot tho
I'll attach it to shark's heads.
Would it be too big for a P365 Cary gun? Otherwise I have an FNX 45 for home defense that I’m wanting to laser/light as well.
P365 rail is proprietary.
I would put this Baldr on my home defense Beretta 92 LTT full size.
I'm using it on my grand power p1 :)
did someone won the baldr s?! i would love to have one : )
I would put this on my Canik tp9sfx WHITEOUT edition 🏆
It’s crazy how many people want it after he basically said it’s not as good as a red dot!
I'm the winner!
I just want this laser/light so I can irresponsibly play with my car around the house
I’d put this on my cz p07 that stays in the nightstand
I'd put in on my mossberg 930 tactical.
@ 17:15, I enjoyed that. No offense to the highly opinionated skinny jean brandishing range ballerina
If you have an eye stigma, it doesn't help to have a red dot
Depends on the severity of the astigmatism and also on the optic. I have had several shooters with astigmatism come through my red dot class without issue.
My Sig SP2022 would look sexy with that light.
Need a light and laser they will fit my home defense, bedside and carry XDs 9mm pistol. This size adjustable type olight is the only one they will fit this pistol and this model is the only one with a laser. Please.
SP9A1 that’s right next to the bed.
Probably going on a M&P 🤞 🍀
I will install it on my Glock 19 or 17 if I get it
I can imagine my baldr a$$ sportin this baldr s on my custom glock.
I'd install it on a Steyr M9.
I would put it on a compact handgun...of coarse.
My Sig M18 needs a light.
I would put it on a HK VP9 OR.
You need a flashlight. Nobody is robbing you at 3pm on Saturday in the middle of a grocery store. It's gonna be somewhere dark when you're alone.
Edit: I don't have a rifle light, and do not need a pistol light as I use an M&P Shield and have a TLR-6 on it. Count me out. Thanks.
Love Olight and your channel! I have a few Olights and enjoy their recharable feature. I'd like a laser light in a compact form for my Zev OZ9c. SEMPER FI!
I love the Baldr-s for potential home defense. If you're drunk and somebody breaks into your house, you can just put a laser on their chest and throw your bottle of whisky at them.
I'd put it on an FNX 45 tactical.
Sig p320 🤘🏼
Glock 19 I own
I’d put it on my FN 5.7
Legion P229 🏴☠️
I’d put it on our shield guy’s G22.
I would put it on my......social distance sig....if I had a fire arm that is
XD45 TACTICAL
My CZ Phantom could use it.
Congratulations, you won the BALDR-S! PM me with your shipping address and I will get the light out to you this coming week.
@@8541tactical Thank you. I got it.
I would give it to the wife for home defense light on her XDM
M&P 9mm Full size.
Olight Ogarbage
add us back bud
Call me crazy, but a professional is more convincing when he doesn't resort to ridiculing physical attributes of someone they disagree with. Especially because it'll indict the followers, which he has a lot of. This comment you made sounds familiar, like the Dakota Meyer comment that civilians shouldn't have access and train with gear "professionals" have. It'll all basically smacks of elitism in the end. You may be a cop but Lucas' opinions are still valid.
I was ridiculing his experience. Not his physical attributes. The “skinny Jean” comment was descriptive. When you stray from your lane and speak of things you have no experience with, criticism is warranted. I don’t subscribe to the “everyone’s opinion is valid” mentality.
@SickCall Ranger nah, I heard him loud and clear, it wasn't a larping issue. Even if it was, a professional doesn't waste his time with the petty shit. Who the hell cares whoever wants to parade or why? His heated comments brought his own image down, as if just anyone could steal his glory by imitation. You gotta be sure about your own shit, that's all. But if you want to believe different go right ahead. Like I said, free country, for now.
@@8541tactical whether laser light produces psychological effects is anyone's opinion. Even as a cop your sample is never going to be large enough to bet your life on your conclusion. Now, tactics is another matter, and I never heard Lucas speak on that, nor would I take him without a grain of salt if he did. He talks mostly about how you can hit a target ffs, it ain't rocket science that a person with brains or talent can't figure out. Someone had to in the beginning, and then teach it, right? Btw, Niccolo' Machiavelli wrote about tactics and strategy in the Art of War as a civilian who was never military. Sun Tzu was not military. So maybe Lucas can figure out and suggest ways to move, shoot and hit your target better. Besides, you wouldn't be first to point out he's a skinny guy. Lots of skinny boys who served and serve. Me included. It's not all Schwarzeneggers and Venturas. When people hit on that or what they wear just to drive a point, well, makes me think maybe they lack good arguments. If you voted Trump then you know this was the tactic MSM used to cut him down. Not the sense of his decisions but that he had orange hair, overweight and wrote mean tweets.
@@MyYTchannel.thenationalrazor *If* Sun Tzu existed as a single person it is believed he was a general. Machiavelli was writing about theory and politics, strategy was only used as a vehicle of discussion -- not as a proposal for active use. He also wrote it at a time when military strategy was rapidly changing due to the introduction of firearms. It was fashionable to have a stance on the topic even when you had no idea what you were actually talking about.
8541 specifically said to not trust your life to a laser's mental impact, only that it *can*. There is loads of antidotal evidence from military and police that lasers *can* have a mental effect on people. Warrior Poet Society, Personal Defense Network, Sig Sauer training academy, Kyle Lamb, and dozens of others have said this.
If Lucas is blanketly saying that lasers don't or won't do that, he is flatly wrong.
Yuck olight shilling
