I have. Mainly for treading on their tail accidentally, or not letting them back in quickly enough when the weather is bad. Soft voices, treats and turning the heating on all seem to help.
Whenever I accidentally step on my cat's tail or foot, I tell him I don't mean to step on him and ask if he's okay. A tip: allow your cat to approach you.
I have needed to apologize to my kitty a couple of times after accidentally squishing her tail. I think I was more upset than she was, as she forgave me readily. I’m so blessed to have her😻
I apologize to my cat right away because if I let it just go, he will feel like I don’t care. My cat is 6 years old and knows when I apologize. He comes right back to me when I am apologizing. (Yes, he did tell me this. 🙄) I do know my cats very well.
All cats are different. Also they know our intentions through maybe our smell or other information they can sense. With your own cat, they learn you. When my cat was alive I apologized immediately for hurting him. As a kitten I once dropped something heavy on him by mistake and he ran off to the corner of the room. I apologized immediately and went to a chair he'd jumped on. I stroked his head and he immediately swiped a paw at me - but it was with claws retracted, showing me he was angry with me and warning me to not hurt him again. I said gently I deserved that. I really think cats do understand what we say. I offered my hand to his face so he could choose his response. After less than 30secs he brushed his head into my fist. I was forgiven. Now I work with strays and always immediately say sorry and just offer my hand. Some forgive, some run off. I've never been attacked. I apologize straight away always so they associate the incident with my mistake. I even seek them if they run to hide. I think the risk of upsetting them more is worth the loss of trust by you not saying sorry quickly. But it all depends on the cat. I really think cats know when you've made a mistake or mean them harm.
One important thing about playing with your cat: in the end let them win. Whatever tou they are chasing, let them get it. Never only play using a laser pointer. There is no way they can possibly win. So this can't be the only or last toy you use.
I have a black cat and keep it a bit dark in my house because I'm kind of sensitive to light, so I don't always see my cat lurking in the dark hallways and might accidentally step on her paw or tail or kick her. 😒 I usually apologize right away, unless she runs off, then I don't chase her to do that, I let her come to me when she's ready. And then I apologize and give her some cuddles. 💕❤️🥰
Può succedere, come quando per sbaglio l' ho chiuso sul balcone...ma solo per poco tempo.. Era un po' seccato, infatti aveva le orecchie piatte e indietro...😂 Ma subito dopo l' ho abbracciato con un grande bacio .. E ci siamo amati come sempre .. Gli animali capiscono l' errore accidentale dalla trascuratezza cronica e dal pico amore .. Io lo adoro ...e lui lo sa... tutto qui!!❤❤ Grazie per il bellissimo video
My cats are the most forgiving creatures in the house. They're both sisters and you'd basically think they were lap dogs. The only exception is when one get's their tail caught in the freezer door. They'll be mad at the whole fridge for days.
My cats now understand “I’m sorry “. I have 2 black cats and it has happened that if I go to the toilet at night they get up and follow me and because they’re black I have stepped on them or accidentally kicked them while walking to the toilet. I always say sorry straight away and I can see they understand because they get startled by the kick or step on the tail so they quickly move away and look at me with the “what the f” face and when I say sorry they straight away change their face expression back to normal and come back near me. They def learn to understand sentences and that is so cool. Also my cats are British they speak English, and I’m Italian, and if I talk Italian to them they don’t understand what I’m saying
One of my cats loves to lick your hand and then bite it, I think it is playful but he just grabs you and begins kicking wth his back paws, he really playful but it kinda hurts!
Suggestion for a futur video : reasons why declawing cats are problematic 😢 Just learned 🇨🇦 will declare it illegal in February! Better too late than never
I agree, I believe in certain countries it's illegal. We should embrace the natural physiology of all animals, especially if we invite them into our life! If you don't want an animal with claws, don't get a cat! It's that simple! It's so barbaric to de-claw! Imagine ripping out a bear's teeth and claws (at the comfort of a vet's office of course), and modify their natural defense mechanism to fit your comfort level. Just don't get it! I want a shark...but I don't want them to eat me ..oh I know! I'll get their teeth removed!!! 😲Sounds ridiculous but that's what they are basically doing!!!! Rant over, this gets me going every time! 😡
I’ve had many cats and they all lived between 18 & 21. You are making this much more complicated than it is 😂. Every cat is different and most actually like you to apologise and give love quickly. I don’t believe that you know anything about cats!
Rocket is a beautiful floof. I hate it when I step on their foot or paw and I do my best to apologize. My late cat would need more time to forgive me. Juno is a little more patient with me, even if I feel like I don’t deserve it
I always apologize immediately when I step on them, but I call their name and only touch them if they come back. My cats can get upset about some grooming activities though and usually I give them some space after that then approach with pets later once they're receptive again.
I was sitting in a spinning chair and started spinning fast and she came to play with me but i didnt see her and i accidentally hit her with my leg and she started hissing but she didn't scratch me and i think she hates me now
Have you ever apologized to your cat? 🐈
I have. Mainly for treading on their tail accidentally, or not letting them back in quickly enough when the weather is bad. Soft voices, treats and turning the heating on all seem to help.
I never had a cat sadly:(
Of course!!

Treats work! 😂😂😂😂😂 Also, my crowd all know their names and when I'm interacting with each of them!

Yeh. So true. I did all but the last 2. Worked very well for me. Now I know doing the last 2 can be even better.

My cat is black and white. One day I told her that she looked like a cop car, then she stuck her 👅 tongue out at me. Glad I had my camera handy.😂

Good! Barbaric practice!
I had 2 cats. How do I apologize to the remaining one for their buddy passing away last week? She’s perking up so I must be doing something right.

I accidentally kicked my cat in the stomach, and I was just saying sorry in a baby voice, and he just lay down on the floor and started purring😅
I accidentally showed my cat the middle finger😰 and i needed this video to apologize to my cat😇
If Bitsy (from "SuperKitties") was my Kitty, I'd follow ALL these steps after making her cry on accident.
What do you do when your cat is annoyed at you for continuing to sleep when it is breakfast? Do I have to apologise daily?
I was sitting in a spinning chair and started spinning fast and she came to play with me but i didnt see her and i accidentally hit her with my leg and she started hissing but she didn't scratch me and i think she hates me now
I hurt my cat's feelings every single day.... When I put my uniform on and go to work every single day.
Well, stop doing that!!

If you were sorry youd tell me in person.

You can go to settings for this video, hit playback speed, then hit 0.75 or lower. This will slow it down 🙂
