    Interesting conversation. I was familiar with IFS before the Enneagram and I remember thinking they fit very well together. I think doing part work can really help us grow and mature and the enneagram can help us have clues about what the parts are saying to us. When I did IFS work, I had a part that hid under a desk and just didn’t want to be seen or cause any trouble. Now that I recognize I’m a 9, that makes so much sense to me. I bet looking at what those core parts are would give people clues about what their enneagram type is and vice versa.

      Thanks for this additional insight, Elaine! I wasn't familiar with IFS prior to this, so I learned a lot myself and, like you said, can see the benefits of how they overlap. And so interesting about the Type 9 intersection with the part hiding under the desk!
