Just did the same repair on my 03 E500. Save yourself a headache by replacing your o-rings on each hose and transmission connections into the new radiator. And yes depending on how much fluid loss, def top off your trans fluid. Nice video and very informative. Thank you :)
Great video. I just changed Radiator and water pump today for my 2005 E500. I did easily because I watched your video before I do it. In the final I found out I forgot to put in the rubber feet on right side of radiator. I should watch twice of your video because you reminded us couple times for the rubber feet. I got to redo it again just put back the rubber feet. but now it is very simple job because of your great video. Thanksssss.
Great video... Thank you for sharing the knowledge... I have been waiting for video like this for for the past 8 months to replace my 2003 E320 radiator with a small leak. The closest thing to this was a picture tutorial from Pelican parts but does not compare. It just so happens I was planning to replace this weekend and decided to check again to see if any new videos had posted. Thank you again.
Thank you for such a detailed video dude, I'm waiting on parts to arrive from FCP euro and this vid makes me feel a bit beter about the install on my E55.
@@HowtoAutomotive it did not lol the oil cooler line on the bottom was peeing oil. I'm gonna get new o rings and give it another shot but my God those lines are beyond frustrating
Hello Brian, I got the radiator, thermostat and upper radiator hose replaced yesterday by an independent shop. The oil filter housing gasket was replaced as well. I decided to do the transmission's oil change, filter and pan gasket replacement. The most expensive however, though still cheaper than the dealership was the Right Front Axle replacement. It didn't need immediate replacement but I thought it wise to avoid a future embarrassment in probably the wrong place at the wrong moment. Thanks for your advice.
Great video. Would like to watch a video on the same work on a GL450. Mainly how to disconnect the power steering cooler line from the radiator (special ear hose clamp).
THx for the video. A question ... How much ATF transmission fluid is leaking while disconnecting the cooling line? Do you need to refil the ATF fluid after reconnecting?
@@HowtoAutomotive Thanks Sir! My Mercedes W210 has AFT leaking at the left side cooling hose connection right next to the oil sump. I tried tightening the socket but still a drop leaking. Is that any O ring in between? I have Permatex 59235 High Temperature Thread Sealant, do you recommend using it to fix the issue?
Excellent video. What do you think is fair labor if I have the radiator and have an indy shop replace it? Also, what is the average time it takes to get this job done? Thank you again
This is a big enlightening video. Thank you very much for sharing. I have a 2006 E350 4MATIC. Found out there's a leak at the transmission cooler connection(top part I saw you plug in). I went to my regular MB dealership to get that fixed and I was told I had to replace the radiator, the thermostat and upper radiator hose. The problem is, they're charging me almost 4 times the price of a new radiator. I think they're ripping me off. Can you help with some advice? I don't think a thermostat would cost $500.
Tiku Tiku if there is a independent shop in your area that is recommendable that is a possibility. Independent shops labor rates tend to be about $50 an hour cheaper. If I remember right this job is about 3 to 3 1/2 hours.
Thanks a lot. I'll withdraw my vehicle and take it to another shop. The dealership is simply ripping off....selling me an oil filter gasket housing for $501. I learned a lot from your video. If not I would have been completely ignorant. You're #1!
Too fast video with too many shakes, get someone to hold the camera while you tell how. Talk too fast, too flippant in speech. Good mechanic but your teaching skills, methods, needs refined. slow down. you know how, now show us how.
2003 E500 - Had a leak from the Transmission line fittings on my Radiator. Replaced the Radiator wth the aid of this video. Thank you!

Thank you!! Glad to help!! I would love to know how it works out.
They asking to do a price review. I will give you feedback as to the outcome.
Quick question.....do these models require transmission oil change?
Tiku Tiku it may lose a couple ounces doing the job so yes. That be cool I would love to hear the feedback.
Thanks again. You will never be able to guess the number of times I've watched this video....Incredible information.
Tiku Tiku your awesome thank you very much!!

Outstanding video, I am going to replace my radiator taken out by a poor coyote.
That sucks. Hopefully everything goes smoothly
What's that metal tubing under the radiator?
Good job bro.
Thanks good video
Im curious, do you recommend flushing the rest of the cooling system (engine/heating core) after you install the new radiator?
nAz I’m not a big fan of coolant flushes. I find they do more harm than good unless the cooling system is in extremely poor condition.
I see, thanks for the reply as well as the Video.
Usually you have to refill the transmission after you replace the radiator, you missed that part..
Really??
I didnt get mines replaced
can you give me the part number for this radiator for w211 320e
