Yes, but I am horribly lonely in the US. No family, few friends, lots of isolation. In Thailand I've already become friends with bar owners and managers so I have more social interaction here.
Bar owners and bar managers are not your friends. The quicker you realize this the better. It's tough, but you need friends outside a bar. Golf, gym, walk, pickleball, etc.
Geof....I must say you waxed very philosophical in this vlog... very thought provoking, I like how you laid it out, very down to earth. I hope to buy you a beer when I get over there and listen to more of your views man. I am not too long a subscriber and I have been quietly watching you vids and assessing what your experiences have been like. Keep it going man I am definitely learning alot from you before my Thai visit. Thanks.
Amazing video!!! Thank you brother! I was seriously curious. I'm sorry I missed you when you were in Oakland. Loved to have met you. Keep up the great work. Thank you!
You *are* a cool and funny guy GP! I'm moving to Pattaya / Phra Tamnak early next year and do hope our paths cross as I think we would get along well as friends. In any case as far as loneliness goes it really comes down to one's personality type. Some people just need that constant stimulation from others to be happy and not lonely. There are people like me that have no problem creating our own entertainment any given day that will not get lonely easily. Everybody needs friends and a routine and all that of course. Thailand is no different than any other country though, just gotta get out there and figure it out!
Thanks for the video & like always keep up the good work 👍🏻 Being lonely I think is a mindset. I think if you have a good group of quality friends with a girl, wife, friend with benefits or just having fun playing the field that's fine however you should always take time for yourself.
Best thing that ever happened to me in my middle years was work travel alone and learning to be ok by myself, at movies, restaurants, etc. I love to travel as a newly-retired man and love being on my own. I’m the care-giver for my wife so not able to pack up and move, but I think I would be ok if I ever get the chance.
I think loneliness is a state of mind. Lived on my own from 17-33, the had 3 failed marriages, I ended up eventually being unhappy in each one, when I've worked out how much time I've spent alone over the years I have more time alone than in relationships. Always been happy alone after you get over crisis of relationship breakups. Don't just sit down All the time, go for a walk go to the gym, find an interest, smell the rose's.
Love it. I just got back to the states after spending two weeks here and what you said is right on. Now what I will also say is that I personally became a little depressed at how I felt after all the P4P... Just feeling like the only way you can get company is by paying for it. But from what I am hearing you say that may not always be the case. Would LOVE to learn more about that brother.. It would help me alot as I really want to move to Thailand in the next year or so. Thanks.
I've been living/working overseas as an US Expat for 12 years. I can tell you what has made me NOT lonely is having a steady girlfriend and now soon to be beautiful and loyal Thai wife. Everyone is built differently but I really enjoy having a companion. I have my cats too but maybe they just love me because they are hungry. 54 years old but my goal is to continue living overseas including Asia and Thiland for the rest of my life. So much to do and see in Thailand I'd never get bored but will only consider living in Pattaya, Bangkok or Phuket. Other cities are a bit slow for me.
NAILED IT!!! As I have gotten older alot of the time, I'd rather just be by myself. No one else to please or do what they want. Now I just go and do anything I'd like and no one getting pissy LOL
Before I had a GF, I had never been lonely. I came here alone on purpose because I was quite sick of being around other people. Especially back home in the US. I still do the majority of my shit on my own. Relationships here, in my opinion, are not much different than back home. Women still find reasons to bitch. They still expect you to pay for everything. Thai women come with their own set of problems in relationships.
I found it the most lonely place on earth, when you run out of money! Millions of woman and sat in apartment night after night thinking only if😢 im in uk alone but could t be happier.
Like some of the other comments having a gf/wife makes you not lonely. However even after 30 years mate I still P4P several times a week. Never gets old. I love the drama. My fav thing to do is pick a girl in a bar rizz her and her friends for a few months, before just plowing all of them and watching the drama that follows lol.
Don't let a woman define you or depend on them.. real men, need to support / friendship from other men. Woman cannot provide deep convo and challenge thoughts/views.
Geofrey, your are very well spoken and street smart. Something I'm learning from you in every video
Thanks

You just have to calibrate in every situation not easy but doable.

Good one day at a time got a video in the works about recovery
I'm not that much of a party guy .. according to your opinion I'll be able to manage there and not be alone?
Ya man Pattaya is campaigning hard to create a fitness community. I’ll be vlogging about it. Stay tuned.

How could anyone get lonely in Thailand, there are women everywhere.

@@bijanbayne3259 I didn't even watch the video.. If you are the type of person that would, you shouldn't even think of living overseas..
