So at least it's not huge stress to get it, but still, it's nice to have one, so it'll still be rushing for people to try and their Corviknight during the event.

@@terrencemiltner1005 I don't think it's going to be a good move for PVP, as Skarmory doesn't use it's steel move that has a higher DPE, but we will have to see how the meta shifts.
Corviknight is a PvP Pokemon (Skarmory upgrade), and Iron Head is objectively worse than its existing charge move mix of Drill Peck and Brave Bird with Steel Wing fast move. I don't care about any useless limited-time moves, I'm just happy I'll get to finally evolve my Shadow Totodiles.
I think the main reason on why rookiedee is being treated like this is probably because it will be very very very good in pvp being a better Skarm. So there basically pay walling it so you can get this pokemon plus I wouldn't even call this a steel event if anything more of a pvp event.
I'm playing this game since 2016 but since the beginning of the year I barely open the game, it looks like reruns of previous years events and I can't find any interest in Gmax battles. Maybe 2025is the good year to quit Pokémon Go…
How do you complain about everything being a rerun, and then complain about the only really new feature in the game ? Gmax/Dynamax entered some fun into the game again for me, pulled me back in from doing just ingress for years. By the way niantic seems to want to kill ingress with latest changes.
@S9999Frank that's not a complaint, I've been playing this game for 8 years, I guess it's a good longevity for a mobile game. I know there's never been more content ingame than presently and new players have a lot to do.
@@carubnut It gets tedious at times, I'm back after years of inactivity, still far from lvl 50 so that is probably the best motivation, plus my kids play, so that helps also.

Nah you missed the point. Look at Fidough Fetch and why it was viewed so positively. This event had potential to be just as good. Locking a Pokémon, especially one that is potentially good in PVP, behind eggs means it will be next to impossible to get PVP IVs. Plus being required to hatch for it is just bad game design for an exploration based game. Fidough Fetch introduced a new Pokémon in such a better way. Have it spawn in the wild after unlocking it.
@@NotBlackWolf Fletchling was in eggs in 2024, Pikipek was in eggs in 2022. Wingull was in eggs in 2020. Early route birds have been in eggs for most of the games life? Again, this just isn't supported by facts.
Ifmi understand the odds correctly you have a 1/4 off of a 2km egg? That almost seems reasonable compared to some of the egg hatching stuff theyve done
The thing everyone forgets about literally every egg event is that we have already known for YEARS that the contents of the egg are fully determined when you get it (this is why we'll never be able to Transfer them) and that the drop rates are actually determined by species, not by egg. When an event like the Magby/Elekid hatch day occurs and they say "increased chance of 2K," they mean "the event mon will have an incredibly high drop rate for egg generation, and it's assigned to 2ks, so you will get a lot of 2ks" because that's how Eggs work. Like here's how it works, step by step: (1) Game rolls for odds on making an egg when you spin (2) Game succeeds roll for egg, then decided to roll for species. (3) After deciding the species, rolling IVs, and rolling for Shininess, look up in a table what egg it belongs to. (4) Finalize the Egg and give it to the player. TLDR: It's almost certainly NOT 1/4 off a 2k. Whether it's higher or lower is something that can only be intuited by...hatching a lot of eggs during the event and calculating rates form how many hatches you're able to gather data for...
I've said for years they should give travel passes so you could legally spoof for a certain amount of time it could be like a plane ticket and you can go to a specific place and walk around and explore it

Hell I would suggest you lean into it with merch like "Negative Nancy" or "Pokémon Karen" Again keep up the great content and just know some of us get some entertainment by the constant negative vibes! You speak the truth - Keep it up!
I’m SO over the egg hatching events. I luckily got a galarian corsola, but I haven’t gotten any Toxel. I missed that one. I luckily got all the baby Pokemon during that event, but I didn’t even do the Elekid/Magby event tbh. And I know there’s been other egg hatching events.
It feels like the last six to eight months have just been awful in Pokemon go. It's so bad that as a day one player I actually just dropped it this past December. It feels like as a free-to-play player, I have to work 5x as hard just to do the events at a pace that keeps up with the rate they're launching things at.
These egg-exclusive Pokemon are getting ridiculous. I still don’t have a decent female Salandit, Varoom, or Dusk Rockruff, and only recently did I get a good Larvesta and Charcadet. Toxel was an absolute nightmare when it first came out. 😖 Niantic needs to stop.
I don’t care about anything that has a G-Max, until that form is released. I’m not chasing D-Max and regular versions of mons like the Galar Starters, Machop, Krabby, Corviknight etc. when they will hold the carrot over us later, I will just collect candies.
They really ought to add incubators as a rare item drop from stops. I like hatching eggs but it's hyper monetized so I forget about my egg (singular) until it hatches, usually garbage
I really don't think this is that big a deal. 2 k eggs are really not a big deal to hatch in your free incubator and there is another option to get rookidee from Magnetic lures (which I feel like even most F2P players have a couple saved, I know I do). Once you get 1 you can always use rare candy to be able to evolve it which is something that, again, a lot of people have stockpiled to some extent given that the rate limiting factor on powering up pokemon is almost always either stardust or XL candy rather than regular candy. If you don't want to do that you can always save an elite TM for when you do get enough candy. Plus the exclusive move is Iron head which is a bad move that you probably won't even want most of the time in PvP which is where Corviknight will be relevant. As long as it isn't a very rare hatch and/or lure spawn I really don't think this is unreasonable.
I don't mind egg-only releases when THERES A CHANCE OF 7K HATCH because then I don't need to talk up to a stop and hang out in sub30F weather for hours in order to get the eggs I need. I can just open ifts and run defit. Not for this tho :( The only region bird I like more then CV is Pidgeot, I'm definitely a little disappointed. I think I'll just wait for shiny drop to grind for it...
I wish they would sell incubators for a discount. I don’t want to buy the huge bundles when they pop into my shop. I think a lot of people would buy 5-10 incubators if they were 25-50 coins less.
I will never go out my way for a Pokemon in eggs. Especially if no shiny is available and corviknight is in my top 5 of all time. It will definitely get a community day eventually and it will be a 1/20 when it’s GMAX comes to the game.
Part of the issue, is if theyre going to menetize so much, at least make it worth it and invest in the game to improve it. The game has so many issues, if it weren't such a popular IP, no one would play it. Look at Niantics other games, they all died for a reason.
I have one question. Is Corviknight meta? If it's just a dex entry I don't care about how they are releasing it. I'll wait for the community day next year.
I like this event it looks so good and there are three ways of getting the new bird Pokemon. 1. In magnetic lures which is a cool way to get the new mon which is a bird Pokemon however the fact that we have to spend money is bad but hey that makes sense after all we do eventually get a very good steel type. 2. Is in field research I think that is the best way to get the bird and yes that is free. 3. In 2k eggs Honestly I’m okay with that cause just 4 in the pool besides the bird it is very good after all we get a decent egg pool and besides it’s a pvp event what more do we want besides wanting to delete eggs that we don’t want. We could hatch rookiedee for free and just do the field research for free and not have to spend money. I do have a few gripes with this but they are small gripes. 2k eggs we can do it for free and with the bonus that is quite decent considering what we get in return and that covrknight gets iron head as in exclusive move. I don’t like buying incubators but I have enough so I’m gonna be fine with it. The other gripe is the magnetic lure it makes sense but most of the spawns aren’t even steel type Pokémon yes there is Shieldon but that and we do get the bird honestly I don’t feel that it’s worth the money. Sure Rookiedee will be worth it one day but Shieldon to me does not feel worth it. The other Pokemon that get exclusive moves I like the only exception is the evolution of Lickitung other than that I think this event is gonna be so good. I don’t think that the timed research would feel like it’s worth considering that we do get a community day classic so I might just skip the timed research. 1/4 hatch distance is good but 1/2 would be better though. Thanks count for this vid.
It’s not going to be as hard as he’s saying. It’s spawning off magnetic lures modules which are pretty abundant if you participate in showcases (most of my community has more than enough for the event). You shouldn’t have to hatch a single egg or spend a single dollar if you don’t want ❤️
I understand that it being in the wild is without a doubt the preferred option and the way they would have done it in the past. But he’s acting like if you want rookidee you’re going to have to hatch eggs. Also catching them off of the lures is going to be the better option because you’re going to want a pvp iv spread as it won’t be a meta attacker for gyms and raids.
When the new loading screen came out, I was super excited for a potential Rookidee com day. After all its a Route 1/2 bird from the games, super common etc. This event is 1000% a money grab and feels like it. I'm so disappointed.
I am excited for the dex entry. I will priotitize the magnetic lure method so i can hopefully get pvp stats. Once thats done i will be good till the gmax gets released.
You can say what you want, Niantic will not going to listen, they are doing whatever they want to do because with them it is all about the money in the end. Not hatching doesn't concern them as there are many others who will keep on hatching anyway... And as long as they are controling everything there is nothing we can do then play along
Still not investing in incubators. Such a waste of walking just to hatch nothing you need or want for the Pokédex. Especially after wasting hundreds of them. I’ll still walk of course 😂 just not for eggs.
The taxi was flown across the region by a Corviknight, if you look at the loading icon or the hub where the taxis are, you can see Corvi in both instances.
Greed is the way to go nowadays with most games doesn’t matter which platform you’re playing on. Most are now pay to play if you want to compete against other online players and have a fighting chance. If you want to change that then stop paying and hit them where it hurts which is their bottom line. 🤷♂️
At least it’s a 2km egg which is fairly easy to do but it would be much better if we could delete old not interesting eggs, still I am happy with the 2025 content, there are events a bit boring but they managed to add weekend events that keep me motivated
I dont think youure being negative, i have been playing 2 years now and the other trainers i follow are too positive and happy about being ripped off. I live in a rural Caribbean area and have issues trying to get raids and even folks joining me for raids. The "in a raid" feature helps.. gives them more money too. Folks are struggling to make emds meet in general and throwing paid events that arent worth it take what is basically a relaxing game and make it pay to play.
Nice try niantic, but i have a life, more like a job, so cant spend time hatching all my eggs to get more then hatch them, then use rare candy to evolve the digimon during the event, quittings never been easier
I'm actually kind of excited to see this bird come in the game sure eggs SUCKS but it's not the worse way I'm sure it's going to be in the wild at some points
When I hear egg event. Everything after egg becomes white noise! 🤣 Not worth my time or money. You want Niantic to listen? Stop paying for these stupid event!
If you know what the taxi is then you know he's referring to the CV that carries it. He's not saying it was required to have for fast travel, that's just literally not what's in the video
@SnoFitzroy I know I was letting him know that the pokemon isn't one you catch to be the flier its just a random one used as the flying taxi he made it sound like you needed it on the team to fly

Niantic should make rookidee a rare daily adventure incense spawn
Yeah with a 2% catch rate
Players: "Stop releasing pokemon only in 7k eggs (Corsola)"
Niantic: "Ok, we will put it in 2k eggs and lures"
Players: "Stop releasing pokemon only in eggs and lures"
In reality: Players: Just give us everything without making us play the game. I dont want to walk, I don't want to do showcases, I don't want to sit where a lure is on a pokestop. Just put it on the map and make it boring.
Yeah put a starter route bird into eggs, that makes sense. Slob on Niantics knob some more guy. 😂
@@NotBlackWolf Fletchling was in eggs in 2024, Pikipek was in eggs in 2022. Wingull was in eggs in 2020. Early route birds have been in eggs for most of the games life? Again, this just isn't supported by facts.
@@jamesbaker4143 Wingull is not a starter route bird. It's available on the SECOND route in Gen 3, and Taillow is the regional bird.
I've said for years they should give travel passes so you could legally spoof for a certain amount of time it could be like a plane ticket and you can go to a specific place and walk around and explore it
First I love your channel and videos but Yes you tend to lean negative. We make kind of a game out of if, Like how long will it take him to be negative. Hell I would suggest you lean into it with merch like "Negative Nancy" or "Pokémon Karen" Again keep up the great content and just know some of us get some entertainment by the constant negative vibes! You speak the truth - Keep it up!
My guess is your going to want to find a pvp IV for gbl i would guess it will replace skarmory in the meta
AY WHERE YOU GET THAT SNORLAX SQUISHMELLO?! I NEEEEEDDD IIIIITTTTTT
Seriously niantic what is your freaking deal locking every new thing behind eggs?!😡😡
As long as it isn't a very rare hatch and/or lure spawn I really don't think this is unreasonable.
eggs should be removed ,or breeding / delete eggs added . simple as!
I don't mind egg-only releases when THERES A CHANCE OF 7K HATCH because then I don't need to talk up to a stop and hang out in sub30F weather for hours in order to get the eggs I need. I can just open ifts and run defit. Not for this tho :(
The only region bird I like more then CV is Pidgeot, I'm definitely a little disappointed. I think I'll just wait for shiny drop to grind for it...
Hatch event?
Hatch event in January?
Hatch event in January when the majority of players hail from the Northern Hemisphere?
they WANT us to use DeFit lmao
I wish they would sell incubators for a discount. I don’t want to buy the huge bundles when they pop into my shop. I think a lot of people would buy 5-10 incubators if they were 25-50 coins less.
So 2km eggs will not pop up as often, and the hatch rate will be lowered for Rookidee just so you can buy more incubators
Is it annoying yes, but for the longevity of the game making egg exclusive Pokémon makes sense rather than just giving them away
Some people like to hatch eggs. The fact u can use magnetic lures to get em makes it wayy nicer.
Where does it say you can use a magnet lure for Rookidee?
At this point, I want all the money I put into the game back and my account deleted.
I don't think you were too negative. I really like your videos. Don't change who you are.
I will never go out my way for a Pokemon in eggs. Especially if no shiny is available and corviknight is in my top 5 of all time. It will definitely get a community day eventually and it will be a 1/20 when it’s GMAX comes to the game.
I am not spending money to hatch eggs. If Corviknight becomes ubiquitous in PvP, I will curtail my PvP.
Steel type event but only 1 steel type Pokémon in the wild
We all know Pokemon don’t care about the community
Lol yea 250 eggs later still no latvesta 😂😂
Larvesta, one galarian corsola, I think the lure thing is really good, and I'm a known downer on this game love it but think it's shite 😂
Like it or Hate it, it is the way so we are stuck with it.
How good will corviknights move be???🤔🤔🤔
When the new loading screen came out, I was super excited for a potential Rookidee com day.
You should also be able to attract the new mon by using a magnetic lure! Let's see if it works.
100% agree tired of the money grab
Then, Niantic need to stop this crap. Salandit and Larvester are STILL egg locked… oh… and Varoom??? Seriously?
I don't think is about catching eggs i think is about people going out walking and play the game
Funny very funny... they wpupd loke you to think that. It's always about the money.
@FRMHEVN i haven't put any money in the game ?
U can also just use the lure to get it. That's how I will do it
I am not surprised and yet still extremely disappointed, smh.
You didnt use corviknight to fly in swsh. There was a taxi function.
The taxi was flown across the region by a Corviknight, if you look at the loading icon or the hub where the taxis are, you can see Corvi in both instances.
Looks like pay to play and what happened with nyantic mission of getting people to move around.Everybody will be staying in one spot
Whoever is crying about 2km eggs go outside !! Its pretty nice out. I go on a casual walk and hatch 4 to 5 eggs.. comment section amazes me.
I am going to use this event to farm candy for gmax for
Nice try niantic, but i have a life, more like a job, so cant spend time hatching all my eggs to get more then hatch them, then use rare candy to evolve the digimon during the event, quittings never been easier
This isn't digimon my guy
I'm actually kind of excited to see this bird come in the game sure eggs SUCKS but it's not the worse way I'm sure it's going to be in the wild at some points
Who the hell wants megahorn on clodsire in this meta 😂
I wouldn’t call Corviknight popular. It is well liked, but popular? Not so much. It’s not one of the big mons people love.
It literally is. People forget it's an early route bird because of how much it's liked.
Im still going to hatch eggs at my own slow pace 😂
Hey Count!
👋
Unlocked behind content should everyone just get the best Pokémon’s real easy … that makes the game fun
C'mon y'all, I'm still trying to hatch corsola😂
Don't forget:
-Corviknight will be decent in PvP
-Corviknight have Gigantamax so we need candy
I mean it will debut in dyna raids at some points since these wont be dyna compatible
@@mobious01 sure but you still need a lot of candy for DM. Better to farm the candy now so you'll have it when you need it.
I don’t think you being negative you are realistic if i played since february and get bored i can’t imagine people playing for 8 years
Carbink doesn’t evolve tho????????
When I hear egg event. Everything after egg becomes white noise! 🤣 Not worth my time or money. You want Niantic to listen? Stop paying for these stupid event!
Maybe this will help niantics failing stock
Oh yea I’m mad about this event cause Pokemon is pretty good in the mainline games but it’s a egg Pokemon again😒
and magnetic lure
Also you don't need to have this pokemon to fast travel in gen 8 you have a flying taxi just an fyi
Niantic is such a joke.
Yay another egg event!
Says no trainer
Ever
Going to be so easy to get. Just spoof to big city lures. 😂
He's not a Spoofer player and pretty much the only times I see lures is community or raid days
