The ATN-95/78 seems to be a rather standard system, not high-end, but for me it is working perfectly and gives great results. I have not compared it to an old electro-magnetic stylus, but to an acoustic one (see Stokowski/Saint-Saëns 1927: Portable Acoustic Gramophone / Modern Turntable).
I bought this recording in a junk shop in the 1970s, when I was 10 years old. Happy memories ...

His interpretation sounds very modern, indeed. Very much different from his teacher's reading (d'Albert).
