- The Testarossa has one of the biggest luggage boot ever found in a Ferrari. Here's it's tested to the limit on a 2000 mile round trip to the South of France.

Thanks for watching.
This is why I love this channel so much. Who else would do a 2,000 mile round trip in a Testarossa to deliver a couple of Bromptons.
Harry is a legend!
This is like Top Gear at it's best but he did it with fraction of the price.
British gentleman in his best years, touring in a nice car with some problems and booze!
LOL, yeah. Of course, it doesn't have nearly enough "pie-in-the-face"- or "presenter-falling-down-a-flight-of-stairs"-gags to qualify for current TG/GT... ;)
clsman89 life is good yeehaa greetz
Did you notice he was speeding when he passed the speed limit radar sign? Lmmmmfao. This bloke probably even enjoys the smell of uncatalyticalized (is that even a word?) exhaust.
It's not just the price of Ferrari's etc,....it's the price of maintenance. You just can't stop off at the local Chevy or Ford dealer for a quick fix.
@@garyreams8123 no, you go to the Fiat dealer instead! Ferrari electrics were basically all Fiat, including standard spark plugs that you can get anywhere... it's only in recent years that they've become a ruinous PITA.
Mr Customs man: What've you got in the back of the car then?
Harry: the engine
Mr Customs man: OK, so what's in the front?
Harry: another engine
Reminds me of the VW Type 3 Fastback my father owned. Trunk in the front, trunk in the back... the flat 4 engine sat below the rear trunk!
really
Surely this is the only Ferrari that's ever hauled an outboard 1000 miles..Respect!
Bet it's not the first one to haul 14 bottles of champagne tho.
Nope, there’s an Enzo with 1k+ miles
Roadtrip with a boat engine and gallons of wine in a Testarossa = simply brilliant
this is what its really about... :-)
This man is a boss ;)
I would LOVE to see more videos like this one!
he went to the alps a while ago and after dropping the family off at the hotel he went for a thrash in the hills in his jag.. champ
Who says supercars are impractical? SUVs be damned!
I really like how you bring the viewer along with you.
Almost capture the feeling of going on the trip with nice inisights and interludes.
The pros and cons are well balanced and genuine.
Just fantastic.
So nice to see these legends being properly used. Honestly I'd loose the spare to spare the interior.
I think nobody is interested in shots of cars sliding and looking glamorous and presenters going on about the figures. What's really interesting is what these rare fantastic cars are like in a regular day to day use. It's right there you realize that owning these is an adventure every time you drive them out of your garage.
Thank you Harry for posting!
DrBreezeAir
I like cars sliding around sideways.
What's better about classics is Grand Touring, the lifestyle, cruising in style and touring beautifull places, lowkey ! Good cars, good places, good food, c'est ça la vie !
i hear MR2's go sideways :)
+DrBreezeAir Exactly right! Screw the drifting, let's see more road trips to unique places in unique cars.
The original posted made my sentiment clear exactly, why buy beautiful cars if you aren't going to use them? I would really enjoy having a testarossa and driving down the countryside or taking a nice long tour through the french riviera. Maybe one day.
When you can't fit all your champagne into your Testarossa, I think the phrase "first world problems" doesn't quite cover it! Great vid Harry!
you sir, are a legend. anybody else would have taken easy option of the range rover, but you chose to do it in style and challenge yourself by taking a beautiful classic car. well done, and utter respect to you!
Haha i dont think that this was actually a hard choice
Good to see you here Woody.
"Fark it's a bit cold in here darl. Think I'll PARTIALLY COVER THE RADIATOR WITH A FUCKING BROCHURE to warm the engine up a bit."
It's so funny to imagine the "usual" Testarossa owner CRINGING watching this video, being most of the Testarossa's out there are garage queens.
Good stuff Hary, keeping cars where they belong = ROAD
cheers from Australia
Most Ferraris are barely driven 1000km/yr. Owners are too worried about devaluation and reliability. It's all quite stupid when you think about it.
Only when I watch Harry's videos,I don't give a fuck about quality and editing, because it's like you are there with him
just the best!,,,,
What you're doing is great. Driving these cars and sharing them with people is massively important. Not enough owners drive their cars regularly for long distances (which is what they were designed to do!)
Good on you Harry
Harry this is really something I'm searching for on UA-cam. Lots younger utubers doing this but no one seems to buy or use classic or even older cars. Also you always do pick up very interesting details about cars. Please continue and enjoy!
Good to hear I'm not the only car nerd out there ;-)
Thanks for waching
There is such rich substance to these videos. They are entertaining yet not dumbed down, something very hard to achieve.
There's a very good italian young youtuber that loves old cars and has english subtitles: Davide Cironi. I love Harry btw great videos! :)
Harry is a founder of EVO magazine, which says a lot. There is no comparison to trust fund vlogers flipping cars
His vids are awesome. Only for true car guys not people looking for the "5 things I hate about this car" videos.
A MAP? OMG in the world of smartphones and GPS's , someone still has a Map ! Well done Harry! :)
On a map you get an overview over the country and its roads that you won't get from a satnav, you see. On car trips to places I've never been (and even to places I have been!) I very much like to have a map with me.
I'm older (not so sure now after watching video) OK I'm 75½ but look much less as my mirror and wife tells me - than Harry and move with the times, Sat-Nav and Smartphone and use Google Maps with very latest maps and traffic information. Also occasionally use HereWeGo and Waze, both ok. The heads up display on 'Here' very good but now expired after free trial. Having said that in early 60's on Triumph 350cc (Bathtub) Motorcycle set out from home age 19 (Midlands UK) to Rimini (Italy) with only a small map of Europe. Realised when I got to Switzerland needed a bigger map and bought one at top of Brunig pass. Did all the journey including top of Gotthard Pass no problems. Remember this was before AutoRoutes in France or elsewhere except AutoBahns. On way back different route through Austria & Germany and got lost in LONDON !!!!
When were you born Harry ? It was a Very Good Year !
Regards Grahame W (RG500 Pepsi-Suzuki Schwantz replica)
Just watched again and at 15:52 you have a Garmin Sat Nav !!!!
Take back some previous comments ?
That's the way it's done ! Old school. I will probably even try that myself
oh yes a map, even in the mountains I prefer the overview at my large paaper map to that tiny screen on my gps, or my new mobile, they dont give the full view, just where you exc are, not where youre going
Map is good on roadtrips. No need to worry about battery, and then you can draw the route you've been driving on the map, as a memory.
I absolutely love that not only can you fit an outboard in a Testarossa but you did!!
Harry and his epic road trip truly embody the ultimate driving passion of each and every single petrol head out there! These videos are among the best contents a car nut can possibly find. Thanks Harry!
Love these sort of videos touring around cars, its the parts we never get to see of these mechanical jems which makes it more intimate and the owners stories. Great video
Intimate is exactly the word I was going to use as I wrote praise for this video. Seems you've done it for me. Fantastic video!
He's gonna call me for advice 5:50. Very proud!
wow I was gonna get a Y-reg Citroen Saxo because of the larger boot size but now I've heard about the Testarossa I think I'll get that instead. thanks
Good plan, can't go wrong..
one word man even a fiat panda would be a nice choice
*Kicks her 00 Civic SI coupe under the bed* What? Oh, nothing. Just. Testing out the bedframe for later. Not that I'm going to do anything on it. I mean I might. Not right now... Maybe? Oh that? That's nothing. Just a Hon.... Han...hand towels...hand towels? Lots of them. Well got a long walk to the bus stop so, yeahhh... I need to review my life a bit lol.
Dont smoke meth^^^^^^
You sir, ar a genies
Dear Harry.. Not sure if you will ever see this since this is a bit old of a video but I want to personally thank you for getting me up off my arse and enjoying my cars and not worrying about miles and where and how.. just drive and enjoy. You have awoken something inside of me that I will forever be thankful of. Cheers!! Peter
Amazing video again Harry, please don't ever change your style of recording it is very unique and as other people have said it is a very personal experience and feels like we're there with you. Great work!!!
Thanks for your kind words, glad you enjoy them. I'll be doing plenty more in the future.
i'm 10 minutes in and this old geezer is doing bush mechanics on a Testarossa.... what a champion. +++Subscribed+++
Hands down, this is the best UA-cam channel out there
I just love how you're handling troubles in the French riviera, figuring out how to put 14 bottles of Champagne in your Ferrari while there's already an outboard for your boat in there, which lies in a harbor somewhere in the riviera. And you still seem like a down-to-earth guy :-)
Rich people problems... "How am I going to fit all this champagne around the outboard motor in the fronk of my Ferrari?"! Somehow I don't even resent it, Harry's earned his wealth!
How did he earn his worth?

Thoroughly enjoyed this glimpse into the world of exotic cars and champagne (and loved the pronunciation of "Troyes") - really love the way you manage to make down to earth videos, incredible feat given the subject matter, and are clearly enjoying every moment of what you do - keep 'em coming, very entertaining stuff. Thanks for making the effort to take the video and share with us...all the best...(PS extra kudos due of course as you're a biker too...)
Yes Troy! Plus Antibessss! School French taking it’s toll again. Still Harry’s English is much better than most peoples now.
Only heard the correct pronunciation of Troyes when watching the Tour De France one year!
Harry, I love your attitude. The garage is full of beautiful cars & you are very modest. For that reason I will subscribe.......Thanks Harry.
One must aspire or wither
“You think you’re having a hard day...I’ve got to try and fit 14 bottles of champagne around the outboard motor in my Ferrari”
I love it!
Thanks for this Harry. Love your videos
It feels like Christmas every time Harry uploads a new video. Thank you I've really enjoyed all of them.
Great video Harry. Thanks for sharing. This is what I love about your videos. Down to earth no pretentiousnesses, just a man who loves his cars and uses them for what they were designed to do.
As a fellow TR owner for the past 16 years I have to admire your work Harry. Mine has certainly never seen such practical adventure. Cheers from Down-Under.
Only Harry can make you nod your head in agreement when discussing where to put things in a Testarossa !
All of Harry’s problems are first world problems. “Oh lord! How am I going to fit my champagne in my Ferrari?” Lol I love it. Don’t ever stop making videos Harry.
Never stop your videos Harry !! Infact do more
Harry, you have no idea how much it means to us car nuts, that you use your Testarossa like this. It makes us almost dream about owning one. Thank you! :)
This is why I love this channel so much 😊 Harry also shows us how these iconic supercars were made to be properly driven and used.
Only 3 years late seeing the vid, but i am very glad to see a Testarossa in existence, and in the UK too, my favourite car of all time, thank you.
Thoroughly entertaining and hilarious in equal measure and oh so very English. Really enjoyed that Harry, a real authentic tale of what it's all truly about.
You don't do too many videos, but they are absolutely ace. This one is a prime example.
Wow man. As a ferrari fan i grew up in the 80's with the testarossa on my bedroom wall. If i was able to buy them like you id also want a testarossa and lambo countach. Your cars are stunning mate. Really cool. Thanks for letting us see them. 👍👍
White Testarossa 80's and Miami.
The Testarossa was actually designed around the Bromton bike, lore has it Enzo was a big Bromton fan.
Loved this video! Personally, I find running errands and going on other purposeful trips some of the most fun and satisfying things to do with a classic car - glad to see I'm not the only crazy person :)
Harry makes me want to drive my car more. He is the man.
Britain to the south of France with a little bubbly. Harry, living life properly. Well done. Well driven.
The joy is enormous when I see there is a new video from you! You are truly inspiring!
Nice to see someone using these cars they were always made for driving
Love your videos
As a fellow Brompton rider, the company started in 76 so it's a bit older than the Testarossa. I love how u found space for TWO!! You have got to be the only man who has done this.
Always a pleasure saw your video Harry!!
I'm pretty sure most people who follow this series are more interested in Harry than they are in his cars. He's one of the few rich guys who is also a nice guy and a genuine car guy. Thanks to his vids we plebes get to see how a (nice) rich guy deals with life's little challenges. And then there are the road trips.
Harry gets the crazy notion to drive a Testarossa to the Riviera to check on his boat -- a rich-guy fantasy for most of us but he invites us along to participate in the adventure. And he shares with us not just the high points but also the little frustrations and occasional crises that are part of all road trips, along with the challenges of driving an exotic in the real world. Co-piloting a Testarossa on a long journey is far more interesting than watching fast laps at a track. Thanks for sharing the experience and I hope for many more. Request: a Citroen DS 21 or the new C9.
And keep the beard, it's manly and a bit bohemian, which you certainly are. Please keep getting crazy ideas about long road trips in interesting cars and don't forget to bring us along!
the shout about the Auto Route and starting to see the signs for St Tropez etc. You're speaking the truth my friend!Me and a friend of mine did a rally down to St Tropez etc earlier this year, London - Paris - St Tropez. That trip down from Paris to St Tropez was horrendous, but then we saw the signs for the riviera and we started counting down the miles in tens, was amazing, wish we could make 80 miles feel so quick here in the UK! The pints we had once we got down there after the 9/10 hour drive down were glorious!
in one day that was (first very major trip tbh) I've done London to Spa before but that was spread over three days so we only drove four or five hours a day max.
Harry when I was very young I was fortunate to visit my schoolmate's home and saw his family's garage of 12 nice cars. I thought this is an unreachable dream. I saw MG, Royce Royce and so on. You have an even more inspiring collection. Thanks for sharing!
I’ve never seen anything more upper class than this in my entire life. The coat across the legs was the cherry on top
I admire this gentleman, he really use his cars beyond their limits. On some of his trips I bet some Ferrari engineers thought it was sacrilege to get a Testarossa on the desert or having an outboard engine up in the front boot... His videos are very entertaining as well. Thanks Harry!
Brompton sell a nice zip-up cover that's easy to use and protects the car nicely. I used it for years. :)
Thank you so much for sharing these gorgeous cars in their proper environment - on the road being driven! I especially love the quirks and eccentricities of these older cars and how much character each has; your running dialog is entertaining and informative as only an owner and driver of these classic cars can share. Thank you for taking me along with you and the beautiful “Red Head”! Cheers, Marty
Love the fact that you use your cars and enjoy them! Great channel, thank you sir!
This is everything I expect from a UA-cam channel. Keep it up. Greetings from Argentina.
Sir, i like your way of living. Greetings :)
Dear Harry.
Thanks for sharing! What a magnificent car. If ever i were to buy a classic, the testarossa would be it. The design of this car will never go out of fashion. What a machine!
i love this road trip videos , keep them up and thank you for sharing :)
one love from morocco
Thank you for sharing this delightful journey with us! Your wife is a saint for putting up with your automotive choices for such a trip.
Great video as always. Just to say about the heater issue. If the air blows cold, and the radiators feel a bit cool, but it's losing coolant, I hate to say it but it could well be a head gasket going, even if you don't see any gunk in the coolant or any other symptoms at all. There are several cars where exactly this set of symptoms develops with a failing head gasket, and it usually happens in winter as well for some strange reason. The next thing to look out for of course would be oil pouring down the side of the engine somewhere, usually all over the alternator just to be even more annoying. I hope it's nothing that serious, and usually when they fail like this there is no long term damage at all, but obviously a costly job because you really have to skim the head as well to make sure it doesn't just happen again. Anyway I'll keep my fingers crossed, and please do a Testarossa update video to let us know the news. In fact it would be good to see little update videos about the various cars and their maintenance.
We'll see once it goes back in for a service.
Thanks for info
Thank you for bringing us along on this journey. It was especially nice for you to interrupt your journey, drop the cameraman off, go back and drive past the camera to give us a nice shot. That would really slow you down, so I appreciate the extra effort you took.
Now, shall I take the XJR, the Range Rover, or the Espada...no, I'll take the Testarossa. Good man!
Not sure the Espada would have made it, considering all the work it's had to undergo at Ian Tyrrell's workshop...
Selecting a 6 figure classic Ferrari from your huge garage of classic cars and bikes, popping down 1000 miles to the yacht moored on the Riviera to deliver TWO BIKES!, a blast along "my favorite road" and on the way to "my favorite chateaux" to stay.... BUY SOME CHAMPERS! it's another world, I tell you !!!!
But done in a matter of fact way, so actually a great video..... Thanks Harry! just hope you don't take it all for granted...
Great video ! Very well edited. The testarossa is one of my childhood dream cars. Don't see them on the road much anymore.
My dream Ferrari
I really love Harry’s lifestyle and I enjoy watching these trips. I hope to be like him some day!
Really enjoying your videos Harry. Informative, detailed and intelligent. So much easier to watch and listen to compared to younger more excitable You Tubers. Great work.
Loved the video Harry - you are such a kind gentleman. It was inspiring, humorous, informative, and great to see how much love & patience you have for this flawed beauty. I witnessed it's launch in Paris in 1984.
superb video Harry. By far my favourite channel. Really look forward to all of your uploads. And the Testarossa seems to look more stunning by day.
Your Mrs must be constantly rolling her eyes at your car choices 😂😂😂
I could listen/watch him for days. Amazingly talented journalist!
I think Harry may be the most likeable bloke on the planet.
Thank you very much Harry! That flat-12 engine is one of the most amazing sounds, completely addictive!!!
I am a simple man. I see Harry's video, I like, I comment, then I watch. And comment again if necessary.
I always thought that the Testarossa is one of the most beautiful Ferrari's. What a wonderful trip. Much better in Winter than the crowded Summer traffic. With the Champagne,....even better.
Harry you are cool guy
Thanks but I'm really not!
Love your adventures with Testarossa its just EPIC :)
Finally a video that combines Ferraris and outboard motors - always a match made in heaven. Thanks Harry :-)
I'm going to do the poor mans version of this next year in my £285 924. Top work Harry!
I paid £250 for my 924, you must have a good one! Hope you have a great trip and thanks for watching
What I love about your videos Harry is that you’re passionate about your cars but not precious about them. You believe they are meant to be driven! Not a garage queen in sight - love it!! 👍😀
First time I've ever seen anyone complain that their Italian sports car was running too cold.
Great video, and very informative with the maintainance story as well. Harry is living proof that car presenters doesn't need to do spectacular stunts, crack jokes every 30 seconds or shout in a high pitch voice. Well done, sir!
What a life. No work, just taking your Testarossa out for a road trip to your boat in France. Lovely.
Mitchell yeah... not like mine at all...
to deserve my testarossa i have to cut horses heads all the day and deliver them to people that refuse offers of my boss... so a dirty job...
Harry works on his land
Watching a video of Harry's garage is like having a glass of a very good red wine, it's relaxing and therapeutic. Thanks for your work Harry and thanks to share your passion the way you do.
That storage space in the boot looks like it was made for transporting these bikes of yours, it's the exact same shape!
And just as I thought that the bike was the most extreme thing ever, you decide to pack up a boat engine, just incredible.
You are everywhere !! haha
What a pearl is this man and his presentation! I will check out more of his stuff.
This is one of your most enjoyable videos! I keep trying to figure out whether there is some sort of "hybrid" configuration to be had with a Testarossa and an outboard motor (not counting the Sunbeam approach). The heater episode reminded me of traveling in the U.S. Midwest in the dead of winter in an old split-screen VW bus. In addition to blankets, I also used a long handled ice scraper for the INSIDE of the windshield as I drove :)
I love watching these videos , so much so I’ve decided to drive from Scotland to the Riviera via the alps in 3 weeks time 😂
This literaly is a Testarossa with an engine at the front. Nice nice car, glad it's still used
2000 mile trip in November and need to take an outboard home, what to take....the Testarossa of course! Brilliant, love this vids Harry!
Can you imagine the look on the customs officers faces.
Okay middle of winter here comes a lovely old Testarossa, driven by an elder gentleman no less. So let's see here we have a chockload of wine and, an outboard engine... On your way sir.
Thanks for the tips. I remember last time I drove down to the Riviera in my Testarossa, I could only get 1 Brompton in. I was well pissed off.
One in the boot, one in the back, brilliant!
When are you going to review an air cooled naturally aspirated 911, Harry, kind of '73 2.7 RS, 964 RS, or other iconic "specimen" ? Your channel is one of the best in the genre, it's a shame you don't make videos more often 😞 Cheers and greetings from Lisbon 👍👌
I should do, I'll see what I can organise. Oh, love Lisbon, just wish it was a bit closer to the UK!
Harry's garage Thank you very much for your quick reply, Harry :-) Wish you a very nice Christmas season, full of Health and "motors", for you and your Family ! We all be anxiously expecting more and more contents from your amazing channel. "Um abraço de Portugal" !
Harry is one of the best Performer! Portugal is one of the most amazing Country! I have a Portuguese Godfather! :) Porsche is one of the best Sportscar! I have a 944! :) Greetings from Budapest/Hungary!
There is a air cooled Porsche video, with 2 cars about to go to auction. One is a early 70's and then there is a 964/993 special edition i think it is. Search the videos.
muzman777 Thank you :-) I saw that video. Hoping Harry bring some "iconic" nat. aspirated 911 for us to enjoy. Love his approach and speach to pieces. He's a true "petrolhead", who uses/drives properly his vintage cars :-) Merry Christmas !
It’s great to have a reviewer doing serious real world stuff with fantasy world supercars. Harry brings a new gritty dimension to the practicalities of supercar ownership that you seldom see elsewhere.
The outboard motor cracked me up :D
I honestly can't like this film enough! Bravo, Harry!
Packing champagne bottles in between an outboard motor and a Testarossa, love it!
Harry what a joy to see you using the Ferrari like a daily driver. I laughed out loud seeing the outboard in the boot, a perfect fit. And a spare wheel in the car too! I'm 100% with you on the sod's law thing. Thanks for such an entertaining video.
