Going all the way back to the sixties I was and still am a fan of the original Move lineup. Trevor, in my opinion, was the coolest of the bunch. He was the most fun to watch perform and his exuberance was infectious.

I was at junior school at the time so missed out on all these gems. Only came across Pickettywitch six months ago and their superb lead singer, Birmingham's very own Polly Brown,...do you ever plan to chat to Polly or are these artists difficult to locate? Think she was with Second City Sounds for 18 months around 1966/67, would love to see her interviewed.
For me it was too late to experience The Move in the original lineup. For me it was the best lineup of this band. I was born in 1952 in East Germany and we had no chance, to see our heroes. But we heard them on the radio. The Move was one of my favorite bands ever. Thenk you so very much for this interview! It would make me happy, to see an interview with Ace Kefford!

A true birmingham legend. Des you should really get the other true legend and the most under estemated brummy in the music industry on your show, the one and only Mr steve gibbons.
Trevor is a great all-round musician. Known for his talent on Guitar and Bass, but Trevor played Keyboards when required with the Steve Gibbons Band. A great harmony vocalist too.
Thanks for posting this interview. Went to see Trevor at the Red Lion in Kings Heath a number of times in the late eighties, if he ever broke a string mid song he'd disappear for a long smoke leaving the band jamming on their own for 15 minutes. Always ended the set with Dobie Gray's Drift Away. I never realised until recently he was the "Trevor Burton" credited as the Bass player on the Kossoff album, Back Street Crawler
Saw the Steve Gibbons Band regularly at the Railway before they toured America with the Who. Trevor and Bob Lamb on drums were one of the best rythmn sections I ever saw, he's a great bass player, useful on guitar as well, must have picked up quite a bit off Jimi. Thanks for posting Des. Subbed
@@sarahwelty9223 Same, too late78 The 60's psychedelic music scene has left a serious impact on me since age 5 having my first 1960's valve record player. Im obsessed with all of the tallent of the times, the list of groups is endless. Thank goodness for the mod and hippy culture.
I used to see Trevor with Roger Hills Spitfire, back in the late 70's at the Railway pub Curzon street., Brum, Trevor would play Further On Up The Road, the old Freddie King number, on lead guitar, pretty damn good too, whilst waiting for Roger to appear, who was always late!!! He would eventually turn up, push his way through the crowd, get on stage & then play the set. It was choreographed to perfection, just for the the craic!!! Great days, then years later at the infamous Adam & Eve pub in Bradford street, opposite Moseley road cop station, where invariably i would end up after 15 pints of guiness & a couple of black eyes!!! Fantastic days!!! Oh to be young again. Giod bless trev!!
@Des Tong: I was Trevor’s upstairs neighbour circa 1981 when he was in SGB. I was about 9. Trevor would show me his guitar gear our families shared the back garden. He had. 2 or 3 year old toddler, an Airedale terrier and an American missus with a curly hair. I used to play on the garden with his kid and dog now and again. When I was starting to get into Rock, I would pester him with questions and ask him to show me his guitars and amps. I went to his kids birthday and there were some wild characters there, I’m sure I saw Roy Wood with an outrageous beard. If u are in touch with Trevor… tell him the address was 47 Church Rd Moseley. Yes Roy asked Jeff to join The Move when Trevor left but Jeff was confident that The Idle Race would finally make it big. Unfortunately his faith was misplaced, the second Idle Race album and the single "Come with Me" failed to get Jeff the success that he craved in late 1969. When Carl Wayne left The Move, Roy asl=ked Jeff again and he agrred to join providing Roy went ahead with his ELO project. The rest as they say is history.

I went to the same school as Trevor, he left a few weeks before I started, he was the school hero to most of us, we all loved The Move.....
