  • The interview with Peter Cook continues. He talks about his planned memoirs - not so much 'kiss and tell' as 'bonk and betray' (The book never eventuated, however).
    Fiona Fullerton is the second guest on the program.

    Peter Cook was incredibly funny, remember that practically ALL sketches from the pete N Dud years came from him - sure, Dudley Moore was his perfect foil, but he was brilliant on his own, too - the problem might've been that everyobdy started to expect him to be brilliant so he felt that he was forced to be funny with every sentence....in some interviews when he is quite relaxed and comfortable with the interviewr (like the early parkinson stuff) he's beyond brilliant

    That's awful. She went blonde, and, suddenly, everyone thought she was an airhead. The Committee probably didn't even save the world that week. Bloody cheek.

    Peter Cook WAS very funny, but I think that he may have developed a bit of a superiority complex because of all the sycophants that clung to his every word.
